Just started doing this but ran into a level 3 pokemon with explosion.

might just rerandomize and restart, missed catching a pokemon earlier because of a crit so i'd only have 2 pokemon for a while if i stay with it.

so restarted, got a numel (fire-ground camel thing) that only knew tackle and growl, and then lost to the first pokemon i fought (a level 3 scizor that i failed escaping from twice).

and Mina the level 3 teddiursa

just leveling a bit on the path to petalburg now.

Mina the level 7 teddiursa- killed by a trainer's Makuhita with Bide
Jdodge the level 9 Cacnea- killed by a wild Hitmontop's revenge
Rhinox the level 13 Aron- 1-shot by the fighting gym leader's Makuhita with Vital Throw. (seriously why is fighting strong against a steel-rock type)

So I'm currently going into Granite Cave with no pokemon that can learn flash.
Welp.

didn't know that steel was weak against it, never played emerald before
also I just made my way to Steven somehow and Tierce just evolved into a badass.

Eh, got bored of leveling and tried to fight the electric gym leader with only one decent pokemon that didn't have a weakness to electric and got stomped by the last two pokemon after using all the potions I could buy. Still had Vi the unown and Papa Zito the totodile in the PC but trying to do it with that would be way more work than I'm willing to put in. might keep going with only the first pokemon caught in the area rule though.
