You need to destroy the auto-generated Portal, and rebuild at the co-ords closest to true.

Overworld: X, Y, Z (East/West, North/South, Up/Down)
Nether: X/8, Y/8, Z (The E/W and N/S are divided by 8 to account for Nether's shortening obv, but Nether's the same height)

Sometime in the next few days, I'll get around to getting my own Minecraft acc.

When I get the acc setup, I'll put the details in thread for the potential whitelist.

I'm more likely to dig down, than build up though. I'll try avoid open pit mining though.

Oh, come on, I didn't rape the Terraria, I just dug deeper, explored further, killed more. If I'd wanted to rape it, there wouldn't have been any resources left.

There is a mountain [864, 119, 206] I have climbed it. It goes above the cloud layer, I just may have to build a house up here.

I didn't know. But then I am all the way down in NZ. Also means that (90% of the time) I'm on the server when no one else is.

The clouds do obscure the view a bit though.

Edit: As a note: I added a fair deal of glass to the nether zone after our [My+Rhinox]

encounter

with a Ghast, involving lots of the netherrack around my portal igniting/blowing up, the portal even went out. Briefly. The glass will prevent future Ghast attacks around my portal.

Until Bukkit is updated; I am completely and utterly lost in the nether, no pickaxes (except my diamond one) left, and I keep getting shot at by Ghasts. And I'm out of arrows. And lacking Obsidian.

I don't have AIM.

I'll try just making my way to the spawn portal before my pickaxe breaks, and hope that a Ghast hasn't made the way impossible.

Also; The location (Co-ords) where I used to have a nether portal home: is now a part of the lava lake.

Edit: Resolved. Used the posted co-ords. Outran Ghasts.

Tried to create a neither portal in the village. The resulting other end (auto) is above the lava. (i.e Floating).

Guess I'll have to assemble one by hand later.

EDIT: Created a pathway through the neither from my home portal to the village. Follow the cobble stone road.

There's a mineshaft running underneath it! Including

The portal on this end is on top of the 'blacksmith' building, and I claim the house next to it.

Over on the Right in the second picture: The ladder down to the mineshaft.

Donated 3.5 stacks. All the spare I had after paving the neither route/setting up the walls around the portal.

Also added neitherrack around the mineshaft ladder, so no one falls in by mistake, and a couple other spots.

Punch a few tree, some dirt for a basic room, etc etc.

You might not hit the higher tier gear for a few days, but mid-tier stuff is fine anyway.

I walk sunrise -> sunset, then look for a mountain or cave. That general area then becomes my home.

Andy, Implosion, and myself have created a highway in the nether to fortress, which contains two (2) blaze spawners. Good for XP and Blaze rods.

My house contains a double chest pretty much full of fire resist potions, just be sure to put them to good use too. Incidentally, I'm always happy for gifts of slimeballs.

And as for the Netherwart farm, make sure to replant.

the ladder to the second level, and take a stack from the chest. The only thing I've really found any use for redstone in is Pots.

But on topic: I moved the lever/s for the moat between my house and the village. It is possible the mobs are getting in that way though. I don't remember if the moat's open or closed after I led the Moos in.

My 'House' is nothing special to look at. It's literally a hole in a cliff. With a door.

That part of the cliff is made of netherbrick, and there's netherrack on the ground around it... More terraforming than actual house building.

Which reminds me, I should go and cannibalize a nether fortress for more brick. I might do that in an hour or so.
