Working on a guess a sorta branch style mine system under my place. dunno how long/deep either of the 4 chutes will go or if each one will have it's own unique quirk.

I was messing around with random seeds, and I must say (to my surprise that the seed "Ke$ha" is very neat. It has a lot of hills, mountains, and other generally tall structures.
My new favorite passion is playing on Hard difficulty and raising a reed farm on the map with the seed of "qwertyuiop".

Like I said, I was digging out my second tunnel and fell, and there were torches there already, so I assume it was...
I didn't bother checking though, I was lagging like a mother bleaper, so I rage-quit.

Oh yeah, Tans, since my "home" is near your place I went exploring in your tunnels earlier. I was pretty far in and a section got creepered. Other than 4 coal I took and that, nothing else was touched.
I can help restore the section if you'd like.

It's that deeper longer one. There's a bunch of resources left in the walls, which are just big enough to move down. It was after the various obsidian lakes where the stairs started to appear where it happened, and somewhere around there where I last logged off.

I have no idea anymore Tans. I'm progressing back through the tunnels and going to my home. I wanna get back to setting up the last two mines and/or building a trap for the dungeon I found.

2 things to report:
1) Tans while working on the stair-mine (a.k.a. Mine A) at my place around y-coordinate 15, I dug into one of your many tunnels.
2) Fucking lava. ~6 gold, 3 diamond, and god knows how many iron picks and plates, as well as full armor.

While I was on a while earlier today, I went exploring the caves and tunnels that exist in my makeshift mines. One such one that connects to tans' place I was poking around when I heard water and a mob party splashing about in it. I managed to find the water and patched it off, but since my lag's too big a PITA I opted to leave it alone and walk back to the home proper.
Then I ran into this.
Spoiler: This
I could not punch them, and they did not even notice me.

Well what if we had signs that pointed to where X's home was with the roads, along certain points? Like, X's house go ^, Y's house go >, Z's house go <.
Though it'd kinda be up to someone to do that.. =/

Near where I'm building my outpost there's a bevy of sand and caverns. I don't know the coordinates for it but I lay claim to a cliff I saw not too far aways from it only because of a plan to have a hanging house.

Okay.
Before I got lag-killed by a skeleton or some shit, I got some coordinates.
Where I'm working on the tower (chests outside of it are free for anyone to take whatever is inside them. But inside the tower's off limits) = x- 691.36, y- 65.62, z- -78.15
Now if only I knew where I was where I died I could get my shit back. 'course by now it's probably faded, but oh well. Nothing of value lost.

I wish I knew how to recover seeds from single player. Generated a map with an awesome hollowed out cave near spawn, and a ways away a massive spread of ice.

Okay those are pretty cool.

...Really Notch, really? God damn it what is it with the current generation of gaming that feels the need to be rewarded for doing any-fucking-thing?

I'd think that playing around with music blocks / redstone dust and redstone logic shit / misc building projects would be more than enough to keep someone interested in a game. If someone needs to get some shiny bauble just to do something than I feel sorry for them. It's a sandbox, you can do whatever you ****ing want; why do you need some badge saying "I did X, look at me guys!" to want to play it?

Lemme guess, "It's about keeping track of your progress in the game," right?
with stats being introduced, achievements will come into being some way whether through mods or officially. the nice thing about them both is that you can ignore them either way, whether it's a button in-game or a thread on the forums
tl;dr: deal with it
So because one is added the other is an absolute necessity?

Dude on a server I used to play on made a maze. He had the entire area made destruction-proof, and the floor was made out of redstone ore blocks. there were two levels to it, and you fell from the first floor to the second, which led to the exit that was otherwise hidden by trees and an iron door.

There's now two caves in this mountain mine I've got that I am too chickenshit to explore (mostly due to lack of torches and inability to find any damn coal), and there's still that spider spawned I've blocked off and lit up at the end of the mine system that I have no clue how to turn into a spawn trapper.
Claus where exactly around MME's house does the station come out to?

I'd have to build a proper house for that, though. Right now, the place I call my house is a floating tower with an underwater structure that contains a glass-encased farm, a walkway that leads to an island that I'll try to build a proper house at, and the tower itself which is a massive WIP.

Hmm...
I know someone said it earlier, but I think I might seriously work on making a maze somewhere in the world if I get the gumption to do it. While I was out today I drew out some ideas and a few practice layouts (:total lie, I just drew out one and made it have several branches out on the first layer god I am pathetic:) while killing time waiting for dinner. This'd work for me too, cuz I need some damn coal and hopefully by doing this I might find some. =/
BTW: claus what are you using to stop the carts at the end of the tracks?

Hmm...
All that redstone stuff.. Never understood it. All I ever did in SSP is leave a space at the end of the track clear so the cart falls and dies on it's own, or toss a soulsand block to stop the cart.

OK guys, first floor of the maze is currently done and open to the public.
The entrance is located at:
x= 1024
y= 73
z= 86
The wall is made of cobblestone, and the dimensions for the walls are 23x20x2 blocks, and the path itself is only two blocks tall, big enough to walk through.
I ask that if you traverse it, please do not break down any walls. The progress on the second level has sort of started, in that I've built down to where it starts, but I've been hit by inspiration so it's still a WIP on paper/in my head ATM.

My Milked Eek wrote:The maze is cool. Just checked it out. The only downside is the distance D:
Glad you enjoyed it. I implore anyone with the time to.
Also, whilst I was out today, I got ideas... and they are awesome ones. Stage two of the maze shall have three separate mazes, each with their own quirk. I just need an absolute fuckton shitload of bookcases. And yes, fuckton shitload
is
a fitting measurement. Just need to iron out specifics first. First of the three will be easy enough to do thankfully.
Then there's level three, and the reward for clearing all three stages... need more resources.
Also how do I get a wolf to sit in one place and stop following me everywhere?

Might it be my place? I've let the tree farm go quite a bit.. =P
Damn creepers ganged up on me last night, blew up a good portion of ground where I was. Had to rebuild the walkway to the maze area, which is also closed while I'm working on one of the mazes in the second level. Incidentally there's also a cavern of some kind underneath of the floor, and I haven't taken a step into it to see if there's any ores down there yet.
