In regards to the "Lover" situation. I thought of a couple of ways to interpret it. As, I think, Shark implied, which was more along the lines of just casual, non-sexual stuff, or as, like, literally a person that is performing the "act" of love. If it were the latter, I'd probably have given him sex.

Well, the reason I didn't count it as company is because I didn't really interpret it that way either. Of course things like visitors, friends, neighbors, other people, et cetera, would've all worked. "Lover" is kind of a very specific person. If your girlfriend/lover/signifcant other lives with you, does that really count as company? The question doesn't really say if you're in a hospital room, but the way I interpret it is that you're just sitting at home sick in bed. The term is just such a loaded one. I probably should've just asked you for another answer. Anyways, mallow and RECK, let's get started!

Sorry, gandalf, but I got to go with Faraday/Fate on this one. I enjoy a good rainstorm (as long as I'm inside and I don't have to go anywhere).

As far as why rain was up there to begin with, I'm guessing it's because sitting outside or laying by a pool/beach or having a BBQ would be ruined. I don't know, that's not really my definition of lazy either, but then again we have all sorts of gadgets and internets to keep us occupied inside now.

Anyways, let me find a question and I'll get it posted up. Remember that everyone on the team may answer, but, especially in this round, make it clear what order you want to submit the answers in. Y'all can do it like the example here or you can do it by talking it out and letting one person make a big list at the end, whatever is best for your team.

Well, look, I don't know about any googling or anything. I don't see what Tony sees when I google the question for myself, and I don't really want to pry into the game anymore than I absolutely have to. The steal question is one that the whole family may talk about, so I have no idea what the Rainbows were talking about outside of the thread. Frankly, I don't want to really know because I don't want to have to monitor 5 different QTs. It's a honor system here, and unless I see any real obvious signs of rule breaking (e.g. Tragedy giving her answer way before her turn), then I don't intend to really step in.

Additionally, Googling is off-limits for the reason that the game is about testing your/your team's knowledge... not the Internet's.

I actually looked up Post Office after I saw the answer. Supposedly it's some kissing game where you split two groups into two separate rooms and people take turns being a "mailman" that makes deliveries to each room. I had never heard of it either though, Andrius. I don't know if that's because it was before my time or because it is more of a northern game, perhaps?

I was very close to trying to make Faraday be more specific, but, I don't know, it was a tough call. I had to really hone in on my definition of loyal, and I kept trying to think of ways where a person who is always there for you through good times and bad wouldn't fit as "loyal".

So it basically went down to the fact that I would feel more honest about giving him credit for that and having you guys upset than I would letting you guys try to steal and then having to explain why it was that Faraday's answer could not fit as loyalty.

Final Round

The winning team gets a final
survey question
all to themselves for the final round. They get 24 hours from the time it's posted to get as many answers as they can, but they must make an important decision about scoring the round.
The question may give them normal, double, or triple the amount of points... depending on how confident the team feels. If they choose to play for normal points, it will play just like a normal question. If they choose to play for double points, the team is only allowed two
strikes
. If they play for triple points, the team may only get one
strike
before play ends! Normal points will be assigned by default if nothing is chosen.
Any player may answer, and they may answer as many times as they like during this round. All answers will be counted in the order with which they are posted.
After the 24 hours are up, I'll tally all the submitted answers until either the team reaches their
strike
limit, or the team correctly gets all the answers on the board.

Okay, as I said, I want to change up the rules a bit for the new match. If this works out, this might be a better way to play this game on the forums. If you like it better, I'll adapt it for the main game as well. If not, then we'll keep the old format.

Rule Changes

(for SNOW vs NSNSMS' game only)

Finding the Answers

Once a team has control of the
survey question
, they will attempt to uncover all the remaining responses on the board.
The players may then regroup in the discussion medium of their choice (Quicktopic, PM, instant messaging, chat room, irc channel, texting, etc.) to discuss which answers will be on the board.
The lead player (
Rank 1
) of them team may submit a list, when ready, of all the answers, in order, that the team will guess. This list may be as large or as little as the team wants, but the order is crucial. The team has 72 hours to submit their list.
If the first answer is correct, we move onto the next answer, and continue until all the responses have been revealed.
If an answer is too vague or misunderstood in any way, I'll skip over it. There will be no mercy for this, so if you think your answer may be questionable, make sure to elaborate or give a "better" version of the answer right after it.
If an answer is incorrect, the team gets a
strike
. If the team gets three
strikes
, control is passed over to the other team. The other team has to get one of the remaining answers on the board in order to steal the entire point total.
If a team doesn't submit their answer list within the 72 hour window, the team forfeits control of the question to the other team.
The other team must come up with one of the remaining responses on the board to win the round. All players on the team may participate, but only the lead player (
Rank 1
), may submit the answer.

Basically the only real difference is that we play all questions like the final round, not just the last one.

Pros: Less likely to get "inactivity" strikes, more collusive, more competitive in the sense that points should start racking up in greater quantites
Cons: Less like the actual show, less team intensive in that players who don't contribute will not penalize the team as long as one person is still around

Well, truth be told you had more than 72 hours because it took Andrius another 72 hours to decide whether he was going to play or pass. Heck, by the rules I posted I could just as easily have given it to NSNSMS. As it stands, I think one strike is a fair compromise between having a new system and not getting anything out before the deadline.

I gave it a lot of thought, but I don't see the two as comparable.

The teacher criticized the student.
The teacher argued with the student.

The husband criticized the wife.
The husband argued with the wife.

Similar situations, but one doesn't necessarily imply the other. Plus there's like constructive criticism, which is even further removed from arguing unless the recipient takes it personally.
