So sorta necroing this. My chances of making this if it was either the 5-8 or 12-15 went up to 75% or so. After that its basically zero chance. Would be coming from Stockton-Sacramento area if anyone would be interested in ride sharing. Dont change it for me or anything since its not even guarenteed I will make it, but putting in an update.

Like I said before, this is definately happening but we're having trouble keeping this thread bumped. We should come up with a name for this thing, I think that will keep us engaged.

Don't recall if I mentioned this in the other thread. I would love to make this meet, but I leave for school in Mississippi pretty early in August. The only weekend that would work for me is August 5 - 8, and even then, I might not be able to make that depending on how my schedule ends up.

I guess, technically, it could. But that's not what we had in mind.

The idea was to play mafia casually while doing other things. We start with a set-up and role assignments and then we split off to play boardgames or whatever. Discussion can continue as people like and the scum can try to serreptitiously day-talk if they feel the need. The mod keeps track of votes on a dry-erase board and, when lynch is reached, collects night actions. Whenever the game ends, we re-assign roles and start anew. I just really like the idea of being involved in non-mafia activities and suddenly someone sees you accidentally wink at someone else and so throws a vote on you.

The fact that we'll have two separate apartments for this meet adds a funny twist: the game wouldn't require us all to be in the same area. So, for example, if some people are up at the guest suite making lunch, they may get a call to the effect of, "Hacker Huck just got two more votes, and tell him to bring down more beer."

Haha it could be. I used to live in Portland for a few years, now I live roughly 45 minutes outside of it, in Yamhill County.

August 5-8 I am on a camping trip, and I always work Sundays. Otherwise I could help with anything that needs help.

That idea actually sounds very interesting. I've never done F2F mafia before, but I've heard stories. Where it seems to essentially be random finger pointing and what not.

So there's not really any correlation in the voting for when we can do this. Can we compile a chart of when attendees

can't

make it? Also, it'd be good to know how likely those people are to attend.

I can do pretty much any weekend, since I live so close to Ythill anyway.

Maybe a better way to do this is to ask which weekends you guys can't come, and then trying to find a weekend that makes the most "can appear" lists.

Yeah, however you guys want to figure it out. Later in August works better for me, but not by so much that it really matters.
