unless I don't have transportation by then.

gotta make sure the lower shore is represented, you know. I'm not bringing any muskrat, though since it'll be out of season by then.

Matt, just promise me you don't live like, in park heights. I don't feel like getting stabbed. :P

also please don't make us go to an Orioles game

What's funny is that I made my comment about park heights before I read the thread and got to page two with all the stabbing. Even future NFL hall of famers in baltimore get accused of stabbing people.

I mean there's a reason that the state penitentiary in jessup was nicknamed "The Cut"

Also don't forget for the non locals that Baltimore has a ludicrously high rate of STDs

Some of the.scummers are probably picturing 28 Days Later only with more diseased prostitutes.

I have no room to talk. I live on the lower eastern shore. One time the former governor of Maryland publically referred to my area as a "shithouse." The rest of the state must have agreed because he got reelected.

The funny thing is that ad soon as I open my mouth, anyone from Baltimore immediately knows I'm from the lower shore. And my accent isn't even that thick.

I was with some friends in Severna Park of all places and a clerk looks right at me and says "you're from across the bridge, aren't you?" Although he also said I talk faster than most shore folks.

Hey, here's a fun game we can play in Baltimore. It's called the Irsay sprint:

1) Walk up to anyone over, say, 50.
2) Say, "Bob Irsay was an American hero."
3) Run. This person will kill you if they catch you.

i don't think my 97 ford escort would do too much to bring down a deer, but you reminded me of a story

my old roommate was originally from DC. her husband was from the back woods of tennessee. he was one of like 12 kids, 10 of which were boys. each of those 10 boys went on to have between 3 and 6 kids of their own. so between brothers, cousins, nephews, uncles, etc, there were about 45 - 50 people in his immediate family. and they were pretty tight-knit, so most of her stories about her in-laws started off with "there were 'bout five of them this one night..."

so anyway, my roommate is in her apartment one night, and one of her husband's brothers starts beating on the door. there's bout three or four of them, and they want her husband to come help deal with this deer that they've killed. keep in mind, it's like the middle of the night. so, he says whatever, as long as he gets some of the meat, he'll help them move the carcass. so he leaves. When he comes back, he's all cursing and swearing. She goes "what happened? did you find the deer?" He tells her that they had lied. It was a cow, not a deer. They had snuck onto some dude's farm, shot a cow, and needed help bringing it back.

Yes. Bringing it back. They brought it back to the apartment. At 2am. Five Tennessee rednecks dragging a dead cow into my roommate's apartment. And what's more, they start butchering it in her kitchen. Now, I've never butchered a cow, but she assured me that the sound of these guys sawing through the bone was extremely loud. she was terrified they'd wake the neighbors. (apartment, as I said) So, they butchered the cow as best five drunks can, and what do you think they did with what was left?

THEY WRAPPED IT IN A WHITE SHEET AND LEFT IT IN THE DUMPSTER OUTSIDE THE BUILDING.

bloody, horrible white sheets with slaughtered cow parts just left in a dumpster. my roommate wound up calling her father to come get rid of it before the authorities found it.

no. they didn't just steal it.

They shot it right in the guy's field, couldn't haul away the carcass themselves, and had to go get help to bring it back

I might need to mention that all of them were extremely drunk at the time

Apparently, my roommate's husband was once shot in the stomach with bird-shot by two of his brothers and refused to go to the hospital. When asked what he did afterward, his response was "the hell do you think I did? I tried to shoot them back!"

Alternatively, you could fly in to this airport, crash on my couch (or in my car if my house gets foreclosed by then), and drive to Baltimore for the meet (and also be forced to hang out at the nursing home when I'm working)

and i'm not entirely sure that airport services anything other than small engine aircraft

and i drive like a lunatic*

seriously, you can't lose

edit: *also, the tailpipe fell off of my car today and if i don't have it fixed by the time of the meet, we'll probably get hassled by the state police on the way to baltimore

A+ accommodations and transport to the meet, lots of chances to die along the way

the easiest way to do a day-trip to DC is to find the nearest DC Metro station, drive there, (new carrollton has free parking on weekends, not sure about others. it's like 40 mins from Baltimore though) and take the Metro into the city

I would seriously and literally not consider driving in DC. The roads there are a confusing mess and the drivers are complete lunatics. Almost everything worth seeing in DC is within a 20 minute walk of one another or so anyway.

DC's trains run till like 2am, but I really prefer not to stick around too long after dark, especially in the subway stations.

Also, some stuff you need to plan ahead if you want to do, the White House requires a free ticket that you have to get like two months beforehand, the Capitol building closes at like 3pm, and the Holocaust Museum requires you to take a ticket at the beginning of the day and then come back later during a set time frame.

Also, only thing about DC is it's not like there's a McDonalds' on every corner. Most of the places downtown are like, bistros

The stations on the far right side are pretty much the ghetto. Southwest & Northwest are where you wanna go.
On the red line, between Friendship Heights & Rhode Island, you can't go wrong finding something to do at night. Chinatown is really good for eateries and karaoke bars.

The Greenbelt Metro (Green Line north side) station is only about half an hour from Baltimore.

Last time I went, I took the Orange Line (new carrollton)

You could get on the Greenbelt, ride the green line to L'enfant plaza, then walk to the Smithsonian. Or if you're super lazy, board the orange line at L'Enfant since there's a stop right at the Smithsonian. Or you could just drive the extra 10 minutes to new carrollton instead and ride the orange line proper. (Saving like $10) Like, you literally come out of the subway with the washington monument (currently closed for repair) behind you and the Smithsonian on your left. Cross the National Mall and you'll be in front of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. About a block down is the Air and Space Museum, then the National Gallery of Art. From all there, the Holocaust Museum is like a 10-15 minute walk or so. The Lincoln Memorial is about a half hour from the Holocaust museum, but it's right by the Vietnam War Memorial.

No, it's actually impossible at the moment.

Hmm. Would it be feasible to spend a night there? I'd imagine accommodations are crazy expensive, though. And it would only work either if everyone wanted to come or if one of Matt and Trollie really
didn't
want to come for some reason.

last time I spent a day in DC, I was there from like 10a - 5p. During that time I saw pretty much all of the National Art Gallery, and probably half of the Air and Space Museum. Also sat outside the Capitol building for awhile.

The time before that, spent pretty much the whole day by doing Lincoln Memorial -> Vietnam Memorial -> World War II Memorial -> Holocaust Museum.

There are literally like 40 things in DC to see and do: National Crime Museum, Library of Congress, Capitol, White House, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian (Air and Space, Natural History, Art, African-American History, American History, Portrait Gallery), The Washington Zoo, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, National Spy Museum, Holocaust Museum, Ford's Theater, World War 2 Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, FDR Memorial, MLK Jr Memorial, Nationals games at Nationals Park. I'm sure I've forgotten something.

Alot of this stuff is near each other. Except Mount Vernon's way the fuck off in the middle of nowhere.

I forget how much a room was last time I stayed the night, but I do know it was pricey.

Baltimore has lots of free stuff to do too, though.

There's at least three or four different places that have free outdoor movie showings, for example. Arts festivals, free concerts, that kinda thing.

The Aquarium, Baltimore Zoo, Maryland Science Center, Baltimore Museum of Art, Walters Art Museum, Edgar Allan Poe's grave, there's probably at least one or two indy wrestling shows in the area during the time of the meet, etc etc.

what exactly do you think the Metro subway stations are? After dark, or even during the day, they literally look like the kind of place people would get murdered in. We can play F2F mafia in the subway station while hoping we don't witness anyone getting thrown to their deaths.

Hmm, not sure who else makes sense as what based on f2f.

I stopped self-hammering after Singer yelled at me during Beach Monks/Masons for doing it. And the other 1-2 times. I promised to stop, and people I think learned their lesson about mislynching me so often out of paranoia. After that I got lynched relatively little, and went on to win a lot of games for town too. So everything worked out happily.

Let me make a list and I will try to give everyone a role
(I will probably use existing roles in the card set, not look for new roles, etc)

You shouldn't hammer at L-1 as town because there's no reason to.

You shouldn't hammer at L-1 as scum because the longer you're alive, the more chance you have to mist the town. And if you mist them hard enough, you may save your own skin.
(See also Author Mafia--- Reck had figured out who I was and hammered me as soon as I hit L-1 to prevent me from trolling the town into a dark forest of woe. and also there was a tracker guilty on me. But this was after i had talked my way out of the fact that I got roleblocked out of an NK)

I never did get my tailpipe fixed, but it's not that loud. And as long as I keep the speed below 80, you don't smell any exhaust in the vehicle

"Hey kuribo, are we almost there?"

"Hold on, it's kinda hard to drive when the roads keep melting."

"Ummm, are you okay?"
"Yeah, maybe the drifter in the back should drive. Hey Ron, can you take over?"

"I keep tellin' ya, my name isn't Ron. It's Stabby Steve."
