Cool, glad to see some people showing interest.
As Malyss said earlier, we're trying to decide how long to make it; probably somewhere between 3-4 days and a full week. We don't want to make it too short, especally if people fly in (like Patrick might do, according to rumor...), but we also don't want to have a situation where some people come on some days and miss seeing other people, or whatever. Still, if we get some people who'd be interested in staying for a little longer, we might be able to manage it; so, how long would people be interested in staying at the beach?I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Update: The sceduale for the high school I'm working at has Monday June 15'th as the tentitive last day of school, unless there's snow days. So, assuming we have the meet in June, the Beach Bash will be in the second half of June, probably not long after school ends.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Well, it'd be great if you could, mith.mith wrote:mith wants to go to both, but mith knows that it will be extremely unlikely he will be able to do so.
I'm probably at about 2% for Beach Bash at the moment.
Last year, on saturday night, we had a big party with a bunch of my real life friends coming over as well, and people got pretty drunk then; we're probably doing the same thing this year. (Also, I'd predict that OGML'd probably be able to match you drink for drink. )pablito wrote: Again, I must ask - if I go, will I feel as if I'm in a brothel and who will try to drink with me until I pass out (even if it is with casino liquor and I'm at a blackjack/poker table)? I will go if I have nothing else to do that weekend (I may be packing up to move) and want to hit a casino at some time.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Very cool. I think Jdodge was considering driving up from Florida, and he was looking for people to carpool with, so you might want to consider getting in touch with him.Kinetic wrote:This sounds interesting. I have some family in NJ, so if I'm headed that way I might be able to swing around and meet some of you guys.
Making the trip from FL->NJ by car is indeed pretty crazy. Its also a trip I've made a couple dozen times...I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Sure, if you've got the stuff for it and feel like bringing it all down, that'd be cool.Kmd4390 wrote:I meant should I bring it if I can go?
Also, if people want to bring board games, that would be good; I only have a few good multiplayer ones; basically just Risk, Axis and Allies, and I think Diplomacy if I can find it.
If anyone wants to bring food, that would be awesome too; we're still a little fuzzy on exactally how we're going to feed this many people, although I'm sure it'll work out.
Of course, I know a lot of people are carpooling and/or coming from long distances away; certanly no one should feel like they have to bring anything.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Awesome, Sensfan.
So..we're looking at something like...8-18 people? That's a pretty big spread still, heh.
We've got 5 beds, a couch, and a few comfy chairs, so everyone will have to bring sleeping bags, and some people will end up on the floor if it's one of the higher numbers.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Good luck with the bash!
Well, you're certanly welcome to come, Nanook.
Anyway, only a month left. If everyone who is going (Or who currently thinks they are likely to come) could post a confirmation in thread here, and let us know if you need directions, that would be good.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Oh, there's definatly a spot on the floor; I expect almost everyone will be sleeping over in the house, since people are coming from far away. There's not enough beds and couches to go around, but it's a pretty decent sized house, so if you want to bring a sleeping bag/blankets/perhaps an air matress, or whatever, then yeah, there should be a good amount of floor space.NanookTheWolf wrote:Also,
Just to recap could you explain to me what the sleepover set up would be, Do I need a motel, or is there a spot on the floor?
Directions would be very helpful ..
I'll say /confirm 98%
Anyway, it's awesome to hear you'll be coming.
We'll write up directions soon and start sending them to people who need them; if I forget to send them to someone, just send me or Malyss a PM.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Your wife is definatly welcome, Nanook.NanookTheWolf wrote:Yay, I took time off from work and was approved .. so I'm /confirmed.
I will be asking questions along the way I'm sure, and not entirely sure if I'll be staying overnight, just coming by for a day, driving home every night. I don't know. My wife and I need to discuss this further.
I haven't necessarily asked my wife yet, but would anyone be bothered by her attending. She doesn't play mafia, she does like to drink and play games though. Then again, I haven't quite figured out where our toddler will be during all this either.
I've never been away more than 24 hours from either one of them, so I hope you can see why this hard for me to figure out.
I'll definitely be there, just not sure about the duration just yet.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Awesome. Glad to hear you can come, charter.charter wrote:/probably in for this. If anyone needs a ride from the DC area, IM me/call me.
I think everyone who is coming has directions now, right?
Ok, so, anyone know around when we should expect them to come?
Also, I know I said this before, but make sure people bring stuff like sleeping bags, air matresses, bed rolls, pillows, ect. Some people are going to end up on a couch or on a floor, so make sure you'll be comfy.
Other stuff to bring:
If people have any cool board games to bring, do so; I only have Risk, Axis and Allies, and an ancient Diplomacy game. Also, anything else fun; magic cards (I have a few ancient terrible casual decks people may remember from Starkadium, heh), multiplayer PS2 games (we just got one of the DDR games and two mats for it. We're both quite terrible at the game at the moment, but if you have any others). or whatever.
Anyway, this should be a lot of fun. Like last year, on Saturday, we're going to have a bunch of my real life friends come over and have a party again.
Current (final?) guest list:
Yosairan2
Malyss
Ether
Incognito
Patrick
Charter
Nanook (possibly +1?)
Bird1111
Posibly Pablito at some point
Possibly TSQ and Ellias? (Havn't gotten final word from them yet...)
Anyone else?
Anyway, see you guys in a few days.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

For the record, Ether actually did manage to survive this weekend without being murdered by Malyss. Although Malyss did change the words to a kareoke song to make it into an entire song about how she was going to kill Ether. It was quite amusing, I wish we got that one on tape.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

As I remember it, this part was like charades, but with clay; Bird had to sculpt something in clay that would let Patrick figure out he had got the Pyramids. Sadly for him, we all just kept saying it looked like he was sculpting a giant purple penis, and Patrick never guessed what it was.Malyss wrote:
Patrick and Bird were partners for our first Cranium game.
Amusingly enough, Bird had to keep sculpting things, he got those cards like 3 more times that game.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

One other funny thing was the kingmaker games we played. The first time we played, I was the assasin, and I instatnly knew Bird was the king because Charter didn't vote him, and Charter had voted for Bird every single game up to that point. Later, people were trying to play more cleverly...except three of the guards accidently lynched Bird when he was the king in a massive simulvoting fail. Lol...poor Bird.I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie-

Yeah, it was a lot of fun. It's a shame we don't think we'll be able to hold a meet next summer; hopefully someone else in the general east coast-ish area can instead.elvis_knits wrote:
