The following adjectives may or may not be useful when describing Tarhalindur: smart, lazy, insane, sane, liberal, apatheistic, imaginative.

Useful trivia of the day: I have seen the following stop sign in person:

Image
What do you do for a living?
College student (hence a good deal of the free time and why I tend to be flakier at the ends of semesters)... no need for part-time work when you have large enough scholarships.
Age?
... 19
Where are you from?
In his house at Ry'Leh, didn't you read the location tab?

Okay, okay: I'm currently living in or around Dallas, TX.
What was the last book you've read?
The Family
by Jeff Sharlet.
What was the las album you heard?
The Book of Shadows
by Lorenna McKinnet, courtesy of my family.
What is your favorite holiday?
Probably Halloween by process of elimination... I tend to ignore/despise most holidays for being too ritualistic (especially Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, and Independence Day), Halloween just has the advantage of an interesting ritual.
What is your least favorite activity?
Sports (I lack both the desire and the coordination to play)
Favorite...
...Alcoholic drink?
Error 404: User does not drink alcohol.
...non-alcoholic drink?
(Very) sweet tea (hot or iced, both are fine).
...Ice cream flavor?
Dulce de leche (though perhaps "everything I've tried except chocolate and strawberr" would be a better answer).
...movie?
Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
.
...musician?
None: pretty much all of my preferred music is instrumental or choral.
...mafia role?
SERIAL KILLER! (Preferably with some NK immunity) Seriously, all the scumhunting of a townie and all the survival skills of a Mafioso.
Who, on the GTKAS queue, would you like to nominate for next week?
OGML hasn't been interrogated yet, so he's up.
Simenon wrote:Favorite novelist?
Sadly, I don't believe Ambrose Bierce counts as a novelist, so this is a tie between Douglas Adams and Terry Prachett.
Playwright?
Shakespeare, but that's not saying much (theatre isn't usually my style).
Poet?/
Homer. Yes, as in the Greek bard.
Kmd4390 wrote:Favorite person to play mafia with?
Currently Kinetic, whose play is similar to my own.
Least favorite?
Glork - his tendency to ask questions in lieu of early pressure may be optimal, but it slows down gameplay D1, dampening my enthusiasm greatly (I strongly prefer the faster pace of a more aggressive playstyle).
Favorite Mod?
Assuming that I'm not allowed to answer myself... OhGodMyLife, who has run consistently enjoyable games.
Least Favorite?
Blahgo... I'm still pissed at Mafia 67 being abandoned, since that's probably my best game of all time.
Vi wrote:When If I use your name/likeness as a role in one of my games, would you be offended? :?
No. Especially not if that role is investigative or has the ability to kill.

That would be Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1) talking to Oma Desala, but you're not really supposed to be paying attention to Daniel.
Where is that stop hammertime sign?
It can be found on the campus of the University of North Texas.
Do you have a least favorite mafia role?
Doctor. It's a useful role, yes, but it's too damn boring (just protect the player you don't want to see die until you die yourself) and creates too many problems for setup design (because Cop+Doc is so powerful).

hasdgfas wrote:mind screw? just, how?
That's a good question and I'll answer it when I figure out my own insanity. Or sanity. One of the two.

(Actually, it was the result of some fairly simple ideas - "what can you do with a setup when the rules are hidden" and "what cool roles can I make with the following characters?" - followed by looking through old games for ideas and making a setup to my usual levels of complexity... with the partial exception of Mind Screw Mafia 3, which I adapted from an older setup idea; I may run a revised version of the original if there's public interest.)
best game as town?
Random Mafia 3, with Mafia 67 a very close second.
best game as scum?
Stargate SG-1. (I'm really at my best in games with multiple scum factions - yet another reason for loving SK)
worst game as town?
High School Mafia (Mini 576), aka the only game where I have ever screwed up badly enough to lose the game for town singlehandedly.
worst game as scum?
Mafia 71 if games I replaced out of count, Mafia 69 otherwise.
Dream theme for a mafia game?
Anything where I know the flavor inside and out (Stargate SG-1 is a shining example).
Would you join HHGG Trilogy Mafia when I run it?
Yay, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Err... yes unless real life intervenes.

There's another response for the not acceptable list, I know...

Also, do you enjoy rope? (If you know what I mean)
Yes, but it's a bit low on the fetish totem pole for me... tsunderes and being stuck in an enclosed space with a lover are both higher.
So, you play Magic, probably D&D, and probably other things. What I'm curious is about those other things. What are the things you would list as your own geekdoms/nerddoms, whatever you prefer?
History (especially early twentieth-century), science (especially quantum mechanics - which is why Suzumiya Haruhi amuses me, since QM stuff is used or implied so much... well, okay, that and Kyon's viewpoint reminds me of my own - and evolution), and science fiction.
Favorite anime?
Serial Experiments Lain remains the only show I have watched in any medium where I didn't know what was going on (except that *something* was going on) for half the show. For that alone it gets my vote.
When will Haruhi Suzumiya Mafia be done :P?
When I get a backup mod and a new reviewer (or a backup mod who will review) - Nat was my original reviewer, but he's flaked.
OhGodMyLife wrote:What made you choose U of North Texas (if I'm correct in reading into the location of the stop sign as your current school)
It pretty much boils down into free money (as in, I have enough scholarships that the school might as well be paying ME to attend), though there are other reasons (having already taken classes there and liking the history department come to mind).
What do you study?
Biology and history.
What would you like to do for a living once you're done with school?
Well, since "rich idiot with no day job" fails on the grounds that "rich", "idiot", and "being a superhero in your spare time" are unlikely to apply... academia (college professor, specifically)

I do believe you forgot to outlaw that response, good sir.

Yes, with the level of awesome determined by just which variant of the base rules you are using.

I need to rewatch that...
Odd, despite me liking it I have it in the "avoid rewatch" category - rewatching it would lose the sense of "All I know is that something is going on" that I had the first time.
So, anyway, what is your criteria for determining something is a mind screw in any medium?
Mind Screw factor is the answer to the question "how difficult is it for me to predict what's going to happen, and how much of this is due to symbolism and hidden information?".
Favorite genre of music? (you already have bonus points for liking mostly instrumental :P)
Generally classical (or modern orchestral work, but I have no idea how many genres that's divided into... ).
What's so cool about early 20th century history? Science? Science Fiction?
Perhaps a parable is appropriate here. In MTG terms, I'm a blue mage (well, actually blue-red*... what Izzet your problem?) - I'm after omniscience, no matter how impossible it is.

History in general and twentieth-century history in particular is EXTREMELY useful for understanding why we're living in the world we're in, and tells us what we shouldn't do when similar situations come up (for instance, maybe running up lots of debt and speculations backfires horribly when the boom busts?)

Science is pretty much the same, except that I also used to compete in science competitions in what little I had of normal high school. (And QM is just mind-screwingly awesome in general)

Science fiction? I like to look through possible futures dreamed up by people.

* - which probably helps explain why I'm drawn to game design/modification as a hobby.

A man that wants only to be happy, that is in search of that thing, to go is to be, to be is to search, to search is to find, and so he goes; in service to the self, trust in those around him, happiness to find, life to live.

You?
Tarhalindur, omniscience, why not?, forward unto eternity, no one, the chosen ones.
OhGodMyLife wrote:What do you look for in a woman?
Well-informed women who are willing to speak their mind (note the comment on tsunderes earlier) and have a modicum of fitness (read: not obese), preferably with some patience (I can be a bit of a jerkass sometimes) and some common interests. Red hair and boobs are preferred but not necessary.

Not already taken and actually interested are also big pluses, of course...

What specifically do you feel you did to screw up that game beyond the point where the cop was forced to claim D1 and then investigated and confirmed an investigation immune scum that night.
I trusted Panzerjager enough that I didn't reveal that I knew he was lying when I KNEW he was lying about his N1 target (I was Watcher).
SilverPhoenix wrote:Does your next game involve crushing my dreams by making the good guys bad (talking about Zelda)?
Would I do that? Would I make innocent characters from Majora's Mask corrupted by the evil of Majora's Mask? Would I just leave out half of the main characters from the game?

YES!
Also, if you were to hold a large RL Mafia festival along the lines of BeachBam, Starkadium, etc., where would you hold it and why? Who would you want to be there?
I'd say Austin, TX (moderately accessible, and downtown Austin is just wonderful), with most of my regular fellow players/favorite players in my games/favorite mods showing up (definitely the 12 listed above).
BlakAdder wrote:What was your inspiration for Mod Screw?
Classified information.

No seriously, it has to do with a certain ongoing game I'm modding. (And I couldn't resist the Suzumiya Haruhi reference.)
