I didn't see any change in lineups since Day 2 so I assume we used the same one for 3 and 4. If we didn't someone tell me what we did use. I listed myself in for Panzer too...

Obviously they scored because we had scum in goal and had all 3 scum on the ice on Day 1, even though they had a scum as forward...

We had possession and shot on target on Day 2, but they saved it.

We had possession and shot wide on Day 4.

On Day 3 they had everyone playing in the positions they were suppose to play in (or at least what they claimed in the thread) and of course they won possession. However, we won possession on Day 4 and they only changed 2 people, so that means they probably had more scum on Day 4.

I think scum shoot wide and pro-town shoot on target, so on Day 2 someone other than CPE took the shot, but on Day 4 I think CPE took the shot. Not sure how it is determined who shoots though...

This sucks that we don't know who the scum is now, because with MoS off and the other 2 dead we were guaranteed to not have any scum on the ice and probably would have scored on Day 5. :/

In that case I am confident we had a stronger squad on the ice (aka they had more scum than we did), however I think we did not score because one of the forwards was scum.

I'd suggest using this lineup for Day 5:

Same defense/goalie
Left Wing: ZeekLTK
Center: TVZ
Right Wing: ???

For right wing we could put in the other right defender, Shanba, or decide which of Lowell/Jdodge we think is scum and put the other one in. Coaches call on that I guess...

I think it should still be 9.

a) We have a new scum and nothing to go off of, it's going to take time to figure it out.

b) The other team still has TWO scum left so it'll take them time to figure out who it is, and thus we have a better chance of scoring goals during that duration (since we have one less scum as it is).

c) 9 days adds more strategy because you have to be careful about lynching people, especially later when you are running low on players (you have to decide: is it beneficial to lynch all your scum and play maybe a man down, or is it better to play with scum on the ice?)

d) Everyone has been playing under the assumption of 9 days, might as well stick with it.

I was thinking the reason we didn't score might be because one of the forwards might be scum. That means either Lowell or Jdodge. So... if we take both of them off we need to put Shanba in because he's the only player we have left.

Also I thought it was still "Pre-Day 5" (according to the title) so I thought he could still change it.

I'm pretty confident that either Lowell or JDodge is scum (I think scum cause your shots to go wide, because obviously they won't be shooting to try to score) so I think if you play the one who isn't scum as the right forward we'll get possession by having a stronger lineup (aka no scum) and might score (or at least shoot on target).

Since scum got randomized, it's up to you for which one to pick, but please don't play them both again like last time. I'm pretty sure I know who the scum in the other game is, and they are going to use those players in their upcoming lineup, so if we manage to sit our scum out I'm positive we'll win possession and have a good chance to score with my suggested lineup.

I don't understand the poison thing that was brought up in the other thread. It would seem the scum should have those powers so that there IS a reason to get rid of them (so they don't poison our team!) but that doesn't seem to be the case (according to MoS, he said he never had that as scum).

What does "no goal" mean? Did they shoot wide or did our goalie save it? Or is that not important like I thought it was?

IMO the only way we lost possession was because the scum is someone other than JDodge. I think we had 1 "out of position" + 1 scum and that was enough to lose possession.

I'd say it's pretty clear JDodge, Lowell, and Shanba are NOT the scum, so start those 3 at their positions for the next day and rotate others.

Well, either the other team put more scum on the ice than they did yesterday or the puck automatically changes hands every other period. IMO they had to have put more scum on, because this game would be stupid if the puck just automatically goes to each side every other day (and it unfairly gives the Hawks an advantage because there are 9 days so they'd get it for one more day than we would).

Also, the rules stated in the original post:

If one side is decidedly stronger than the other at the end of a game day, the stronger side will score a goal.

So it is only logical to assume that the stronger side gets the puck, because they can't score without it.

So I think we pretty much just blew any chance of winning (or even leveling the score in) this by fielding the same lineup because (unless the puck automatically changes) now the other team can pinpoint who their scum is. So now we're screwed.

I'd say have both me and Lowell and left/right wing (whichever, since we're both left wings). Pick between TVZ/JDodge for center.

Then keep the D the same except put in Shanba instead of MoS (why not? Shanba's been on the bench for a long time, might as well put him in).

Yeah but I think at this point, if either Flameaxe or Capricious is scum, there's no way we can win, so we might as well try to narrow it down among the 3 positions with 2 players each.

I mean, if Flameaxe is scum, that means we have to play 2 players out of position in our best lineup, which means we'll probably never be strong enough to score a goal (barring the other team putting both of their scum on the ice, which is unlikely).

And if Cap was scum, they probably would have scored by now. But even without considering that, if we put a non-goalie in goal, that's only going to make us weaker, so we almost have to take the leap of faith and assume Cap is town too.

If Lowell is not scum then I think we still have a chance to score by playing the two of us at the wings (since we're both left wings) and then getting sitting out the scum, whoever it is between MoS/Shanba or JDodge/TVZ.

Hmmm.... I was going to suggest that we missed last time because only one of our offensive players was in position (Lowell), but then if you look at Day 6 it was the exact same set up except I was in instead of Lowell and the "centers" were switched around.

So, I am reconsidering JDodge being scum. Because we basically had the exact same lineup up front for Days 6 & 7 and the exact same result.

The setup was: One center at center, one center at right wing, and one left wing at left wing.

Our defense was basically the same too. A left defender and a "right defender" plus the goalie.

Flameaxe is the only constant...

Basically what I'm saying is that because we had the exact same result for 2 days in a row, and we did this even though we switched everyone up position-wise (except Flameaxe) it basically proves that:

-TVZ and JDodge are interchangeable (aka they are both centers)
-Lowell and Zeek are interchangeable (aka they are both left wings)
-Shanba and MoS are interchangeable (aka they are both left defenders)

So the scum is one of the two who are not. I think the other team would have scored again by now if Cap was the scum, so it's gotta be Flame.

I actually set out to try to show that JDodge was more scummy, but in doing so I found him less scummy and came to the same conclusion that you had about Flame.

We had the exact same result by using 2 completely different offenses. That means the offense is fine, but the overall strength of the team is not strong enough to overcome theirs. That means we had a scum on the ice. Since every person was rotated except you, you're the scum. Good try though. :p

Also, no, you (Flame) are not a proven townie, or even likely to be townie (given the results of the past two days). If scum hadn't been randomized midway through the game then yeah, it would be highly unlikely that both you and CPE were scum, but since it was randomized, that completely nullifies any affect your position might have on your alliance.

Yes he should - if we're in a stalemate and can't move on because he's the only one not voting himself. We only have 5 voters and we need 5 to reach a majority. Yeah that's kinda fucked up but it's how it is. So yeah he should vote for himself just so we can keep the game moving.

I don't really see why a lynch is even necessary... I mean, the other team scored a goal before even lynching any scum. If I am truly scum as you say, keeping me on the bench would allow the team to be better. But if I'm town (like I am), and nothing changes, you don't have that risk of losing a townie.

Because at this point we are not going to score 2 goals in 2 days (considering we have scored 0 in 7 days).

Considering how hard it is to score, the best we can hope for is to score 1 goal and tie it up.

The tiebreaker is "first team to lynch all their scum", so we NEED to lynch our last scum if we hope to have any chance of winning. We won't lynch scum unless we lynch SOMEONE, and we have to start somewhere. You are, by the numbers, the most likely candidate to be the scum.

Also the other team scored a goal because we had 3 scum on the ice (one of them was our goalie). The other team obviously isn't going to do this so we clearly can't count on that as to how we're going to score. The only thing we can hope for is that we get rid of ALL of our scum, have a total pro-town roster (including the bench) and hope that they put their only scum on the ice AND that is somehow enough to give us a goal...

The way foolster posted it, I would hope that Lowell was the scum, because that would be even more unfair to us if he kept MoS as the scum:

So I win, right? Cuz everything I said about Flameaxe, JDodge, and TVZ being possible scum was absolute bullshit. If I was town I woulda lynched the non-contributing lurkers who were posting enough to keep from getting replaced.

I don't see how the Flameaxe thing was BS. We switched up EVERYONE else in the span of 2 days and got the exact same result both days...

Also I don't see how lynching non-contributers would have helped. TVZ, JDodge, and Shanba weren't the scum. :/
