Good for you. Your answer - Do you think disclosure is good?
No. Not on Day 1, not on Page 4, not when we probably have a cop and a doc still alive.

Because with the role he's got, he's a prime candidate for being set up and take the blame for the kill, though I have no idea of what the mechanics may be, I'm not willing to lynch him on Day 1 just like that.

I'm an auto mechanic. I guess my role is kind of mad at the high society people in this town, so if they come in for repairs, he makes a bigger damage to the car. Someone named Mrs. Walsh (i'm wondering if this is a typo, should be Walch) came in and asked for a repair, but I did the same thing and put a tiny hole in the air conditioner fluid tank.

I'm a townie, but I have a special one time power that I can use. More on that If I get close to being lynched.
What implications might this have re: Yosarian and scotmany12, if any?

Meta on Mike: Read Worse Idea Mafia please. You can read the whole game in 3 minutes. He basically lurked his way to victory. Now, I'm not complaining, because he was, after all, my scumbuddy.

Therefore I'm particularly well placed to notice his lurkstrategy.

I believe Yosarian is being truthful.

I believe scotmany12 may be truthful, and should be given the benefit of the doubt, especially on Day 1.

That's a very simplistic, and quite possibly scummy gameview.

The Yos vs. Scot argument is necessary and good, however, there are too many possibilities for framing, and interlocking storylines for us to really be sure of their significance at this point. Scot appears very earnest and sincere, and I believe Yosarian, too.

The lack of serious competing wagons is impeding progress and making actual scum hunting very difficult.

Can you think of ANY reason why a scum would start drawing attention onto himself like Yosarian2 did, right out of the gate on Day 1? Making claims that the rest of the players have ample time to verify? Claims that would at best get rid of a single townie, at the cost of his own life (if Yos were scum)?

Tell you what. I want to see you under pressure. I saw you uber-lurk to a victory in another game. You have been utterly useless here, nothing beyond adding your vote to wagons that other people have started. If it's a wagon, it's good enough for you. Now you are pushing Greasy Spot, but you have no made a single statement to show that you possess critical anything, or that you are actually considering Greasy Spot's alignment.

Here's a wagon, here's MikeO voting on the wagon.

unvote, vote: Mike O' Malley

Mike, at some point, six people had voted for you..

The Goat, curiouskarmadog, The Jester, Beep! Beep!, ooba, neko2086

On Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:33 pm, your response to these votes was to unvote scotmany, and declare you were going to do a reread.

Five whole days later, no sign of the promised reread. You pop up on Sat Mar 29, 2008, post four words (discounting the onomatopoeia), and vote for Greasy Spot.

Now that players once again begin to question your lurking, lack of play, and dearth of arguments, you respond rudely, and now, OMGUS votes.

The question the rest of us must answer is whether you are frustated, caught scum, or a townie genuinely looking for scum to the best of his abilities.

The Jester wrote:I'm up for a Greasy or Mike lynch, Mike's an Alt of Flameaxe anyways. Not sure if you guys care about Alts, from what I've seen it can go either way of caring or not.
I wasn't aware of this. It looks to me like he's lurking much more heavily as Mike than as Flameaxe. If what you say is true, Jester, then the excuses he made for his lurking are probably phony. It appears that he wishes to use this alt to lurk more than usual.

He's also a notch more rude, but hey. What am I gonna do.

To illustrate the extent of purposeful lurking, on Fri Mar 14, 2008, he posted (whole post):
Mike wrote:Hi. Sorry for not being here, catching up later.
Is it true that "Mike" wasn't there? Well, Flameaxe's post history shows that he was clearly there and very active in the days preceding this post: PROOF

Mike doesn't post for a full ten days. On Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:33 pm, is when he makes a post that says:
Mike wrote:Just got back home about 20 minutes ago. unvote while I reread.
Is that true? Again, let's examine Flameaxe's post history. On Mon, Mar 24, 2008, he posted at the following times:

Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:50 am
Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:55 am
Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:20 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:27 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:54 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 5:17 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 5:22 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 6:56 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 7:12 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 7:28 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:14 pm
Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:33 pm (posts as Mike in this game)

Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:42 pm
***several more Flameaxe's posts***
Mon Mar 24, 2008 11:07 pm (last Flameaxe post on the 24th)

Looking at the data, it's possible that he was out for an hour between 8:14 and 9:13 pm. But he does give a false illusion of being too busy to post. In addition, he never re-read the game as promised.

In these two short posts, there are four attempts to deceive. Two short statements designed to give the illusion of being busy (while being exceedingly active as Flameaxe), and two more short statements promising "catching up later" and doing a "reread" - both of which were never delivered.

I predict that Mike will attempt to lurk his way out of this wagon or become purposely disruptive. He will not try to help the town finding scum.

As for why he posted in this game later than the others, I don't really have an answer to that. Priority maybe? Honestly, I don't believe you can accuse him of lurking just by looking at his posts from one day.
Are you referring to the period of Mar 14-24, when MikeO didn't post? Because during that period, Flameaxe posted at least once on the following days:

March 15
March 16
March 17
March 18
March 19
march 22
March 23

The only day he didn't post were March 20 and 21.

If you mean the period preceding the long, 19 day lapse in MikeO posting, I just checked that Flameaxe was very active on the following dates:

March 3
March 4
March 5
Machh 6
March 7
March 8
March 9
March 10
March 11
March 12
March 13

So it's clear that the "MikeO" alt is a fake lurker.

Let me put it this way. GS is still more pro-town than MikeO, a lurker by design and deceit, and not a useful one at that, the few times he showed up.

GS can answer himself. But clearly the Yos vs. scot is going nowhere, and it should get nowhere, because it's too early to have a firm grip on the reliability of the information they have provided.

And I did make a case for voting MikeO, didn't I? Is any player moving away from Yos vs. Scot onto MikeO opportunistic, because I made a case that is sufficiently convincing, backed with supporting evidence?

I find it more strange that you'd declare GS scum over this, and make a decision not to vote MikeO.

Actually I think that both your information, and that of scotmany12, may be reliable. It is, more precisely, our intrepertation of said results that cannot be relied upon, so early in a complex game.

CKD, GS, grow up. Stop it already.

vote: Mike O'Malley
- I made my case yesterday, and this case is re-enforced by continued, purposeful, planned lurking.

I think today's lynch is either Rosso Carne, as Guardian's case has shown, or Mike O'Malley, from yesterday. I will vote for either of these players today.

Justin, the answer to your question is so bloody obvious. You make it sound like there was some huge about face from me in a period of 18 minutes.

For sure, careful and thorough as you are, you already checked this.

In that 18 minute period, scotmany12 CLAIMED.
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 695#958695

Duh.

Justin, your first post berated Guardian for favoring a scotmany lynch over an O'Malley lynch. You pointed out that today, Guardian is now favoring a Rosso Carne lynch over an O'Malley lynch. And yourself, you are now questioning the person that started the O'Malley wagon yesterday.

There is something way off with O'Malley for sure, and something off with the interactions between Guardian and Justin and O'Malley.

unvote, vote: Mike O'Malley
- a mega-scummy lurker with strange tie-ins to living players. Knowing his alignment will be very useful, he's very likely scum.

The biggest oddity here is that instead of helping us get rid of O'Malley (I made that case yesterday) or Rosso Carne (Guardian has made that case today), you choose to question the two people that have bothered making cases outside of the Yos/scot binary system.

Have you read the case I made? If not, you might want to go back.

To recap: Mike O'Malley is not just a lurker, is a lurk-Alt of Flameaxe, an extremely active player. In Worse Idea Mafia, he literally lurked to victory as scum. From the look of things, he intends to carry on the same way in this game.

When The Jester and I exposed Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe, I thought it was a bit of a test.

If Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe was town, I would have expected his activity to pick up in earnest.

If Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe was scum, I would have expected him to behave like a spoiled brat caught scumbag.

I can't be 100% that he would behave as I predicted under the two different alignments, but he did react like a spoiled brat scumbag, and it convinced me that not only this was an Alt created for the purposes of lurking to end game, but that in this game, he was scum again, got caught, and frustration got the best of him, explaining his petulant response and subsequent disappearance.

You may interpret it differently, but that's how I see it.

I don't think the O'Malley lurker alt was that townie when he did show up. All his posts were nothing more than the weakest of weak excuses for lurking, and then when the lurker alt business was caught, and it was pointed out, he lashed out at the people that found him, then disappeared again and who knows if he'll be back, that scumbag.

So I really want him out. That's not ordinary lurking.

But alright, once again I see Guardian's point. He makes a mighty good case.

*sigh*

I'll recap.

Mike is no ordinary lurker. It is an Alt of Flameaxe, a player that posts several times per day, every day. The account was set for the purpose of lurking un-noticed.

In Worse Idea Mafia, as my scumbuddy, he lurked his way to endgame and victory.

Now, you may argue, his chances of being scum in this game are the same as anyone, and his alignment was decided after he signed up with his lurker account.

What clinches it, is his reaction we he got caught.

He OMGUS'd, sulked, and never came back. His plan, which was to lurk to victory as scum (do townies ever strive to lurk to victory?), was foiled. Being caught meant that he would be unable to lurkersneak a victory on an unsuspecting town like he did in Worse Idea, and that obviously burned him.

If he was town, I believe he would have behaved completely differently when caught. I don't know how, but throwing a hissy fit and slamming the door doesn't come to mind.

Did I say that if Rosso is town, armlx is almost certainly scum?

When a player defends someone else to the extent that armlx is defending an obvscum player like Rosso, it's usually because the real scumbag (in this example, this would be armlx), knows that the obvscum is actually town, and they want to earn themselves some cheap town cred.

If no one wants to hammer Rosso, I'll be going after armlx next like a rabid pitbull.

I'd be willing to reverse this wagon completely and lynch armlx.

This is ridiculous.

ONLY scum holds back on obvscum wagons. Why? Because they know the victim is town. By any objective standards, Rosso Carne's behavior is indefensible. Only scum would defend him because they expect to get cheap town cred later.

Who's with me for an armlx lynch?

DizzyIzzyB13 wrote:I'm happy to look at Armlx - tomorrow, when we know whether Rosso is scum or not.
Until recently, I would have agreed with you.

But here's the thing.

Guardian makes a super-convincing, airtight case against a krap player.

armlx resists and resists and resists, and argues endlessly with Guardian.

I think Guardian is town. I don't believe a scumbag would tunnel-vision on a player that is no threat to the scum and can be easily be neutralized during the day, and that no one listens to anyway.

So we have town Guardian, who unlike Rosso, is a good, active, reliable and logical player, going after Rosso like a pit bull starved of red meat for a week.

What's armlx-scum to do? OF COURSE, he discredits Guardian, because he knows Guardian will look terrible tomorrow having pursued a townie lynch relentlessly, and he himself will look like a fresh posy of daisies for having called Guardian on it and tried to stop the lynch.

Only a scumbag 100% safe in the knowledge that both Guardian and Rosso Carne are town, would behave the way armlx is.

What townie in his right mind would defend a lousy, and super-scummy player like Rosso, when a totally credible and justified case has been made on him? No townie would do what armlx is doing.

I do think Guardian has found us scum; only the scum is armlx.

I apologize, I've been crazy busy, it's been insane, I've been reading my games but my posts are pretty much one-liners.

But I'll tell you this.

I'm beginning to believe that we have quite a few information gathering roles.

Last night I checked out Mike O'Malley's replacement, and got an innocent. He died, and I found out that he was in fact GUILTY. I had also checked out GreasySpot and got an innocent (I defended him a bit after that, that's the reason why, so now you know). I'm beginning to think that I may be looking for one player, on account of my flavor. I don't want to say what the flavor is, but it's not cop, let's say it's a professional, like psychiatrist. It's not psychiatrist, but something else that leads me to believe I am not going to be finding mafia.

Beep...were there any differences between your investigations on Mike and GS?
No, there were no differences.

But I repeat, I am not a cop. Just like we have a guy reading mails... I'm a professional of sorts... my current theory is not that I am insane, that would make no sense with the flavor. But I did get an innocent on a mafiate... so now I think I am looking perhaps for a single player in order to offer this player something akin to a cure.

I got one "innocent" for Greasy Spot and one "good person" for OMalley/Porochaz. But oddly in the second second, the mod indicated that he made an effort to make the result more obvious in this second result, than from the first.

I'm really not sure what to make of it.

I do know that sanity is not an issue; and I'd be extremely surprised in naivete was involved.

Neko,

All the claims so far have been confusing. That's the reason that I have come forward with my own claim, so we get more information, and because I am beginning to believe that we work in "player pairs." Yos was after scot, we've had a lyncher, and I now believe that I am looking for a single player, not scum. I think that's an important piece of the puzzle.

Even if my claim isn't "convincing" there is no objective reason to think I'm scum. Your insistence is very odd.

That is completely ridiculous.

Of course you should ignore my result, I've got an "innocent" on a dead scum and there isn't the slightest doubt in my mind that this is NOT a sanity issue.

Can we ignore neko and try to figure out the mechanics of this game?

"Innocent" or "Guilty" in the context of my role (and given previous results) probably does not relate to legal/criminal innocence or guilt.

Oh, and I should rectify, I have not received a "guilty" result. I got "innocent" twice. I don't know how a "not-innocent" would be called. Logically I'd guess "guilty" but maybe not.

I said specifically that I am not a Psychiatrist, but I do believe my role may work in a similar way. Unless the SK has an unusual flavor, yeah, that's a possibility.

If anyone is in trouble, and thinks they can be helped somehow... I suggest you come forward, but frankly I doubt anyone will take me up on the offer.

Here's one instance of you begging to be investigated in the post where you ask me to point out where you begged to be investigated.

How 'bout that.

Look back at your posts, you keep wondering why so-an-so hasn't investigated you.

The astonishing answer to your question is that at the time, I thought other players were scummier, namely, Greasy Spot, and later, Mike O'Malley and his by extension his replacement.

Well well well CKD.

You just said that " if we do have more than one scum group, than you can bet your sweet ass after dizzy's slip up, that
the other group is on his wagon
."

But then you say "It also says things that Guardian and Beep are not jumping on the wagon...though Jester is. if I had my way
Beep/Guardian/Jester
or even nekos would be the lynch today."

I find several things wrong with the above.

(1) If there is in fact more than one scumgroup, how would Dizzy know even if she were scum? She may realize there is a SK or a vig, but she'd be in the dark about another scumgroup as much as the rest of us. Thus a "slip" is NOT BELIEVABLE. I don't think it's a real slip.

(2) You suppose that if there are two scumgroups, that one scumgroup must be all over Dizzy's wagon and you chide the players that aren't on it. That's WIFOM at its best. Players that vote Dizzy are from the "other scumgroup" and players that don't vote Dizzy are Dizzy's buddies? Great way to paint absolutely every as scum, but I love the way you single out Guardian and myself, and to a lesser extent Jester and neko.

(3) I happen to think your begging to be investigated is FAR SCUMMIER than Dizzy's non-slip.

(4) Interestingly you are not voting Dizzy!!! You are deciding who is scum and who isn't according to is voting Dizzy and who isn't, and you keep your vote on Jester? Isn't that mega-hypocritical?

All in all, it shows that you really aren't paying attention, you're not thinking, you're not looking for scum. You're doing nothing but muck racking in order for some of your accusations to stick and be convenient tomorrow.

The use of profanity is two things. Offensive, and scummy. Are you trying to browbeat me?

As you know I have investigated the players I most thought were scum. Greasy Spot, for instance, who was under a lot of pressure, and Mike O-Malley's replacement (as I was all over O-Malley it's natural that I would pick him over you.

Once again you are upset that a player investigated a player that isn't you.

And you may deny it in the previous post, but any player can read your posts and see that you are indeed deciding who is scum with whom depending on their vote on Izzy. The facts are there for everyone to see. Let them read and draw their own conclusion.

But you're right, I should stop playing mafia. It's fun and relaxing for me but I'm no good at it, and I ruin the game for everyone else.

Yes, I got TWO innocents on two mafias... GreasySpot/Alabaska, and Mike O'Malley & his replacement whose name I forget. Clearly I cannot "convert" mafia.

I expect 2 groups of 3 mafias, and without an SK, it seems to make sense, numbers-wise.

I'm looking for a sinner to grant forgiveness, I'm a religious figure to be specific.

Looking at the dead scumbag:
AJ wrote: The Jester:
The Jester and skitzer really pop out to me as scum, as of where I am in the reread.
Also, The Jester and skitzer are still looking really bad.
Yeah I think The Jester is a good lynch. The way he has cruised through this game is a bit unsettling.

Skitzer:
skitzer has already admitted to being a "crooked" car repairman.
skitzer's play throughout this game has been noncommittal and sheepish. He has provided very little if any original content.

Killa Seven:
I think killa seven is town at this point also.

(armlx/Imat):
Imat gives me bad vibes.

Guardian:
Guardian feels town, as does CKD and Beep! Beep!.

CKD:
Guardian feels town, as does CKD and Beep! Beep!.
Also, ckd please hammer Dizzy.
Defends CKD after I found him scummy for using profanity: "This is bullshit."

Beep! Beep!:
Guardian feels town, as does CKD and Beep! Beep!.
Man you play scummy.(about me)

I agree that Dizzy probably fakeclaimed.
The Dizzy wagon and the CKD wagons are both stalled, so this might not be a bad idea. unvote, vote: The Jester
(To Guardian) Some people are liking Dizzy right now and some are liking ckd. This is basically what it boils down to.

neko2086:
Nothing
CKD said yesterday:
You just said that " if we do have more than one scum group, than you can bet your sweet ass after dizzy's slip up, that the other group is on his wagon."
CKD is on the lookout for the "other" scumgroup that is voting Dizzy. Therefore I have reason to believe that CKD is on Dizzy's team, a red-shirt mafia member.

Another interesting fact is that I had gotten an "innocent" on GreasySpot/Alabaska J, on Night 1, I believe.

So two of my innocents were guilty. I don't think I'm insane, though, that would make no sense with my role.

Red-shirt and conspiracy. Two kill methods: shot, and bludgeoned. The third kill method is "eaten by a bear."
Alabaska was the victim of a crosskill. Who did he threaten most? The Jester and skitzer.

# Porochaz/Mike O' Malley, Maurice Jenkins, Conspiracy Mafia, Eaten by bear night 2.
# AlabaskaJ/Greasy Spot, pianogwen, Angela Johnson, Conspiracy Mafia, Bludgeoned Night 3.
# Dizzy Izzy13/The Goat, Hal Mercer, Red-Shirt Wearing Goon, Lynched Day 3.
voting FOR:armlx(TOWN), killa seven, The Jester (RED?), Alabaska J(CONS. SCUM), neko2086, CKD
voting others, not voting: Guardian, skitzer(red?), Beep! Beep!

Porochaz Mike O' Malley is consistent with a vig kill or at least a town-friendly SK. The single kill is consistent with a vig kill.
Dizzy was pinned by at least once competing mafia member (Alabaska/GS). There should be one Conspiracy mafia member left, I doubt they'd BOTH be on the Dizzy wagon. Players that did not vote Dizzy were skitzer and Guardian (I am not counting myself, knowing my own alignment, draw your own conlusions). I would say that makes skitzer red-shit mafia.

Red-shirt mafia (2 members left presumably) Alabaska was threatening The Jester and skitzer the most. Mostly The Jester. Jester and skitzer both red-shirt candidates.
Conspiracy mafia (1 member left presumably) One of Guardian, skitzer because they refrained from voting along with Alabaska.

I speculate that The Jester and/or skitzer may be part of the two red-shirt mafia. Greater probability for The Jester. I would have to believe that The Jester bus'ed Dizzy or that skitzer didn't bus Dizzy.
The Jester preferred to vote Dizzy over CKD. Because the "CKD wagon wasn't going anywhere." Maybe Jester didn't care either way. Either both CKD and Dizzy were red mafia, or The Jester is not red. Mmmmm. The Jester did vote CKD earlier and switched.

I just noticed, that there was already a dead SuperSaint before Dizzy's claim, haha.

Porochaz replaced Mike O'Malley. All he did was waver between Rosso (TOWN) and skitzer. I say that's pretty damning for skitzer being the third conspiracy mafia member, hence his desire to hunt for Dizzy-Izzy partners in the post above.

k7 got an evil result on skitzer, who claimed vengeful townie and is suspected to be a miller.

In general I like to lynch millers. If we have 2 x 3 mafia, a proliferation of vengeful townies seems like a stretch.

In my three investigations, all were innocents. The two that died were in fact guilty, they were scum.

CKD is still alive. I got an innocent on him too.

I totally can't imagine my role being insane and having the mafia show up as innocent, though.

But then again nobody has come forward to ask for heavenly forgiveness. Only God can save your wretched soul.

I'm not sure what to think.

Good grief K7 it's not possible to read your posts in isolation without getting migraines, and I had to stop when I sensed I was going to have an epileptic seizure.

PLEASE CHANGE THAT AVATAR!!!

David Alderton (?): "my role told me hes a drug dealer im not comfortable explaing what my role is yet to early in this game. i was snooping through his mail and hes getting drugs from mexico and cuba"

The Jester: "last night i read the jesters mail and was told hes a "good citizen"
only letters from his mom and etc. im the town mail man btw. i investigated jester and he had magazines to kitty and puppies, a thank you note from his mom for a scarf, and a request for a veterans donation. and in bold it said good citizen. "

skitzer: "ok i read skitzers mail and he had a subscription to big blunt piece of metal magazine lol. the mag has all types of big tools and it goes on to say werent some people clonked in the head and killed.
then he has a movie of cop killer and it goes on to say "hasnt 2 cops been killed so far oh no thats horrible"
at the end it says skitzer must be a evil person. with evil in bold letters. "

Neko: "In his mail he had a magazine called "getting away with it" which is a murder mystery phamplet, and a letter from a prison in sacromento, then it suggests he has friends or family in prison so (she) must run with a bad circle.. "

K7 I might have noticed your question if I didn't have to shut my left eye to read your posts, gawd your avatar is PAINFUL.

Yes, there is plenty of flavor, but it relates to my own role, and says nothing about the person I'm investigating. An example of flavor is that I go on my knees and pray and ask god and I get an innocent result each time. I don't learn flavor about my target.

When I investigated CKD, I got this from the mod: ""Oh Lord, this curiouskharmadog fellow.... allow me to see into his heart and see his true nature... is he evil? Is he "the One" that you can not forgive?" "

That's why I was under the impression I was looking for someone whose soul I needed to save.

I guess I was just a naive cop in the end.

Fun game, but no, I don't know what the theme is... lots of worthless cops, lots of vengeful townies...

What kind of cop was K7, anyway?

We got lucky last night with the crosskills, though I would have been up for a Jester lynch. Neko played such a good game, I would have NEVER voted for him, truth be told. Thank you Jester for killing neko! I guess Neko was too townie to live one more day, eh?

Yesterday I was pretty sure that CKD was town, less sure about Guardian. I was totally sold on neko being town. Also, K7 being town.

That left The Jester. I wouldn't have known where to look for the other mafiates.

Congratulations to Yosarian.

Big thanks to Skruffs for an entertaining game! I loved the flavor.
