What implications might this have re: Yosarian and scotmany12, if any?skitzer wrote:OK, I think I have a big part on the whole thing. After this, you'll probably think I'm scum, but I let this out, so please believe me.
I'm an auto mechanic. I guess my role is kind of mad at the high society people in this town, so if they come in for repairs, he makes a bigger damage to the car. Someone named Mrs. Walsh (i'm wondering if this is a typo, should be Walch) came in and asked for a repair, but I did the same thing and put a tiny hole in the air conditioner fluid tank.
I'm a townie, but I have a special one time power that I can use. More on that If I get close to being lynched.Beep! Beep!-

Meta on Mike: Read Worse Idea Mafia please. You can read the whole game in 3 minutes. He basically lurked his way to victory. Now, I'm not complaining, because he was, after all, my scumbuddy.
Therefore I'm particularly well placed to notice his lurkstrategy.

That's a very simplistic, and quite possibly scummy gameview.Greasy Spot wrote:I think Yosarian2 may be okay. The way he revealed his role in pieces like that caused me to believe he was lying. I will give the benefit of the doubt for now.
Since Scotmany is a Killer he must not be pro-town sounvote: vote: Scotmany12
The Yos vs. Scot argument is necessary and good, however, there are too many possibilities for framing, and interlocking storylines for us to really be sure of their significance at this point. Scot appears very earnest and sincere, and I believe Yosarian, too.
The lack of serious competing wagons is impeding progress and making actual scum hunting very difficult.

Can you think of ANY reason why a scum would start drawing attention onto himself like Yosarian2 did, right out of the gate on Day 1? Making claims that the rest of the players have ample time to verify? Claims that would at best get rid of a single townie, at the cost of his own life (if Yos were scum)?Greasy Spot wrote:I didn't believe Yos2 claim in the beginning because it looked like he was lying.Beep! Tell you what. I want to see you under pressure. I saw you uber-lurk to a victory in another game. You have been utterly useless here, nothing beyond adding your vote to wagons that other people have started. If it's a wagon, it's good enough for you. Now you are pushing Greasy Spot, but you have no made a single statement to show that you possess critical anything, or that you are actually considering Greasy Spot's alignment.
Here's a wagon, here's MikeO voting on the wagon.

Mike, at some point, six people had voted for you..
The Goat, curiouskarmadog, The Jester, Beep! Beep!, ooba, neko2086
On Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:33 pm, your response to these votes was to unvote scotmany, and declare you were going to do a reread.
Five whole days later, no sign of the promised reread. You pop up on Sat Mar 29, 2008, post four words (discounting the onomatopoeia), and vote for Greasy Spot.
Now that players once again begin to question your lurking, lack of play, and dearth of arguments, you respond rudely, and now, OMGUS votes.
The question the rest of us must answer is whether you are frustated, caught scum, or a townie genuinely looking for scum to the best of his abilities.Beep! Beep!-

I wasn't aware of this. It looks to me like he's lurking much more heavily as Mike than as Flameaxe. If what you say is true, Jester, then the excuses he made for his lurking are probably phony. It appears that he wishes to use this alt to lurk more than usual. The Jester wrote:I'm up for a Greasy or Mike lynch, Mike's an Alt of Flameaxe anyways. Not sure if you guys care about Alts, from what I've seen it can go either way of caring or not.
He's also a notch more rude, but hey. What am I gonna do.
To illustrate the extent of purposeful lurking, on Fri Mar 14, 2008, he posted (whole post):
Is it true that "Mike" wasn't there? Well, Flameaxe's post history shows that he was clearly there and very active in the days preceding this post: PROOFMike wrote:Hi. Sorry for not being here, catching up later.
Mike doesn't post for a full ten days. On Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:33 pm, is when he makes a post that says:
Is that true? Again, let's examine Flameaxe's post history. On Mon, Mar 24, 2008, he posted at the following times:Mike wrote:Just got back home about 20 minutes ago. unvote while I reread.

Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:42 pm
***several more Flameaxe's posts***
Mon Mar 24, 2008 11:07 pm (last Flameaxe post on the 24th)
Looking at the data, it's possible that he was out for an hour between 8:14 and 9:13 pm. But he does give a false illusion of being too busy to post. In addition, he never re-read the game as promised.
In these two short posts, there are four attempts to deceive. Two short statements designed to give the illusion of being busy (while being exceedingly active as Flameaxe), and two more short statements promising "catching up later" and doing a "reread" - both of which were never delivered.
I predict that Mike will attempt to lurk his way out of this wagon or become purposely disruptive. He will not try to help the town finding scum.Beep! Beep!-

Are you referring to the period of Mar 14-24, when MikeO didn't post? Because during that period, Flameaxe posted at least once on the following days:scotmany12 wrote:Eh, Mike is an alt of Flame, but he was on vacation during the time that he did not post. I am in two games with flameaxe so I can vouch for that. As for why he posted in this game later than the others, I don't really have an answer to that. Priority maybe? Honestly, I don't believe you can accuse him of lurking just by looking at his posts from one day.

Let me put it this way. GS is still more pro-town than MikeO, a lurker by design and deceit, and not a useful one at that, the few times he showed up.curiouskarmadog wrote:it was the way he did it Beep..
first he is pushing one way...
then as a BW develops on Mike(flame?)..he jumps on that wagon, what happened to the yos/scot thing he was so passionate about?
and now, he is voting me...does this pattern of voting look protown to you Beep?
GS can answer himself. But clearly the Yos vs. scot is going nowhere, and it should get nowhere, because it's too early to have a firm grip on the reliability of the information they have provided.
And I did make a case for voting MikeO, didn't I? Is any player moving away from Yos vs. Scot onto MikeO opportunistic, because I made a case that is sufficiently convincing, backed with supporting evidence?
I find it more strange that you'd declare GS scum over this, and make a decision not to vote MikeO.Beep! Beep!-

CKD, GS, grow up. Stop it already.
vote: Mike O'Malley- I made my case yesterday, and this case is re-enforced by continued, purposeful, planned lurking.
I think today's lynch is either Rosso Carne, as Guardian's case has shown, or Mike O'Malley, from yesterday. I will vote for either of these players today.Beep! Beep!-

Justin, the answer to your question is so bloody obvious. You make it sound like there was some huge about face from me in a period of 18 minutes.
For sure, careful and thorough as you are, you already checked this.
In that 18 minute period, scotmany12 CLAIMED.
http://www.mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopi ... 695#958695
Duh.
Justin, your first post berated Guardian for favoring a scotmany lynch over an O'Malley lynch. You pointed out that today, Guardian is now favoring a Rosso Carne lynch over an O'Malley lynch. And yourself, you are now questioning the person that started the O'Malley wagon yesterday.
There is something way off with O'Malley for sure, and something off with the interactions between Guardian and Justin and O'Malley.
unvote, vote: Mike O'Malley- a mega-scummy lurker with strange tie-ins to living players. Knowing his alignment will be very useful, he's very likely scum.Beep! Beep!-

The biggest oddity here is that instead of helping us get rid of O'Malley (I made that case yesterday) or Rosso Carne (Guardian has made that case today), you choose to question the two people that have bothered making cases outside of the Yos/scot binary system.Justin Playfair wrote:I am questioning what I have seen as oddities in both of your behaviors. .Beep! Have you read the case I made? If not, you might want to go back.Norinel wrote:My read of Mike's posts is just a lurky VI, who attacked GS a bit and Beep a bit, but never really said anything about anyone he wasn't attacking. Annoying, but I didn't see anything worth saying "probably scum". Am I missing something? And Rosso's another useless lurker, but is there any more to it than that, either?
To recap: Mike O'Malley is not just a lurker, is a lurk-Alt of Flameaxe, an extremely active player. In Worse Idea Mafia, he literally lurked to victory as scum. From the look of things, he intends to carry on the same way in this game.
When The Jester and I exposed Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe, I thought it was a bit of a test.
If Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe was town, I would have expected his activity to pick up in earnest.
If Mike O'Malley/Flameaxe was scum, I would have expected him to behave like a spoiled brat caught scumbag.
I can't be 100% that he would behave as I predicted under the two different alignments, but he did react like a spoiled brat scumbag, and it convinced me that not only this was an Alt created for the purposes of lurking to end game, but that in this game, he was scum again, got caught, and frustration got the best of him, explaining his petulant response and subsequent disappearance.
You may interpret it differently, but that's how I see it.Beep! Beep!-

I don't think the O'Malley lurker alt was that townie when he did show up. All his posts were nothing more than the weakest of weak excuses for lurking, and then when the lurker alt business was caught, and it was pointed out, he lashed out at the people that found him, then disappeared again and who knows if he'll be back, that scumbag.
So I really want him out. That's not ordinary lurking.
But alright, once again I see Guardian's point. He makes a mighty good case.
*sigh*

I'll recap.
Mike is no ordinary lurker. It is an Alt of Flameaxe, a player that posts several times per day, every day. The account was set for the purpose of lurking un-noticed.
In Worse Idea Mafia, as my scumbuddy, he lurked his way to endgame and victory.
Now, you may argue, his chances of being scum in this game are the same as anyone, and his alignment was decided after he signed up with his lurker account.
What clinches it, is his reaction we he got caught.
He OMGUS'd, sulked, and never came back. His plan, which was to lurk to victory as scum (do townies ever strive to lurk to victory?), was foiled. Being caught meant that he would be unable to lurkersneak a victory on an unsuspecting town like he did in Worse Idea, and that obviously burned him.
If he was town, I believe he would have behaved completely differently when caught. I don't know how, but throwing a hissy fit and slamming the door doesn't come to mind.Beep! Beep!-

Did I say that if Rosso is town, armlx is almost certainly scum?
When a player defends someone else to the extent that armlx is defending an obvscum player like Rosso, it's usually because the real scumbag (in this example, this would be armlx), knows that the obvscum is actually town, and they want to earn themselves some cheap town cred.
If no one wants to hammer Rosso, I'll be going after armlx next like a rabid pitbull.Beep! Beep!-

I'd be willing to reverse this wagon completely and lynch armlx.
This is ridiculous.
ONLY scum holds back on obvscum wagons. Why? Because they know the victim is town. By any objective standards, Rosso Carne's behavior is indefensible. Only scum would defend him because they expect to get cheap town cred later.
Who's with me for an armlx lynch?Beep! Beep!-

Until recently, I would have agreed with you.DizzyIzzyB13 wrote:I'm happy to look at Armlx - tomorrow, when we know whether Rosso is scum or not.
But here's the thing.
Guardian makes a super-convincing, airtight case against a krap player.
armlx resists and resists and resists, and argues endlessly with Guardian.
I think Guardian is town. I don't believe a scumbag would tunnel-vision on a player that is no threat to the scum and can be easily be neutralized during the day, and that no one listens to anyway.
So we have town Guardian, who unlike Rosso, is a good, active, reliable and logical player, going after Rosso like a pit bull starved of red meat for a week.
What's armlx-scum to do? OF COURSE, he discredits Guardian, because he knows Guardian will look terrible tomorrow having pursued a townie lynch relentlessly, and he himself will look like a fresh posy of daisies for having called Guardian on it and tried to stop the lynch.
Only a scumbag 100% safe in the knowledge that both Guardian and Rosso Carne are town, would behave the way armlx is.
What townie in his right mind would defend a lousy, and super-scummy player like Rosso, when a totally credible and justified case has been made on him? No townie would do what armlx is doing.
I do think Guardian has found us scum; only the scum is armlx.Beep! Beep!-
