Scum hate being scumread for dumb reasons, and earlygame dumb/seemingly-unsupported scumreads. These are universal. Yes, town can hate that too, but they are also likely to just not care significantly more often than scum.

However, instinctive/basic scumplay is to try and shut early suspicion down quickly for obvious reasons (part of a more detailed explanation is because you don't want to have that kind of unnecessary baggage to carry on fighting against, but again, should be obvious reasons).

Here's how it went down:

91 is vezok making a(n oddly angry) remark about Mac bussing us.

92 is a regular flippant "lol fuck you idc" response. This would have resulted in me having a null to nulltown read on Mac had he left it at that.

However, his followup to that in 93 is massively scummy. It's scum making a damage control post, in case his 92 hadn't sufficiently handwaved away attention, or in case people would react negatively to 92's fluff-like dismissal of vezok's 91. (Imagine a celebrity actually taking the time to address a particular piece of tabloid gossip instead of ignoring it as usual - why even bother, unless that specific rumor actually has something true to it/worries you?) This was completely unnecessary for him to do as town, while him as scum had ample reason to make that post (again, damage control just in case vezok's suspicion there escalated or caught on to others).

I'm honestly not too convinced on the Sonic Boom being scum, but my other head and one of my stronger town reads think he is.

I'm interested that Mastin is the second person to claim we are buddying Ank. She just sheeped off the reasoning of Cat without actually caring enough to think about it herself. Anyway, she comes in scum reading the three biggest wagons. Sonic, Bins, and Hiplop. Yet she only wants Sonic or Bins lynched. I really want to see Hiplop flip now.
She's being intentionally vague and gambity so she never has to explain anything (either that or she is that arrogant but I really don't see Mastin as the arrogant type). She's also coincidentally scum reading all the biggest wagons when she comes back.
I'm sure she's self aware enough that being this way is no help to the town, so I doubt she'd be acting like this if she was town.

There are two scenarios of scum teams I see right now depending on whether Hiplop / SonicBoom are scum. I don't think Lying Cat is town in either of them. (And if both Hiplop and Sonic Boom are town, then something is messed up, and Lyinc Cat probably still isn't town) Or maybe they're both scum which I haven't really considered yet.
Anyway, I'll get a case on Cat soon. This is a read both me and Marq agree on, and considering we get reads quite differently, I feel most comfortable with this vote.
The only thing that sort of bugs me about it is Mastin may be town if Cat is scum and I really hope her to be scum.

I tried a meta dive on LC once (i think it was mostly jingle) and I got a lot of words and little meaning from them. No. The obvious town benefit is using it to calculate continued night actions, in addition to tying down whether it is town or scum controlled early. If no town player claims to have received the invention, and the inventor is town, they have a functional guilty. If the inventor is scum, we can use the additional information to further plan.

Why would a player not admitting to be given an invention be a functional guilty? How would the knowledge of who received the invention but not what it is help in your analysis.
Anyway, I'll read your strategy for power roles.

I think a part of the reason is they've had extremely similar reads as me which makes me think their thought process of similar to mine. I.e. a town thought process.
