Ooh, I'm a meaty topic. Someone go dance with the title fairy.

As it is, I think it still may be worth our while to lynch Arafax or Anix because they have essentially claimed Vanilla. By lynching either of them, we 1) gain information as to whether or not they were being truthful, 2) do not risk lynching a power role before night gives us more info on the setup, and 3) do not make scum's odds any better than they already are.

I'm all for lynching a vanilla townie on day 1.

My interpretation of Flay's first post was that all vanilla townies were beach bums, and that Arafax's claim was basically a scumclaim. Anix defending throws that into doubt, because he came out as saying it was possible.

I'm just not sure either are trustworthy, and it seems very WIFOM to try to decide whether or not Anix is a genuine townie defending what could be a genuine claim, or scum throwing some heat off a partner and willing to risk outing both to do so. It's a stupid play, so perhaps unlikely, but in my mind I'd rather lynch one to find out for myself.

claimed vanilla

In what way?

We have no guarantee that Arafax is town, even if Anix's defense of him is genuine.

It is worse than useless for someone to claim vanilla Day 1. I've heard it called "scummy."

i disagree. If i remember correctly, AniX also claimed to be a Vampire in the film, but not in the game. That explain why Fonz wanted to tie him to a nameclaim-in the hope that he might claim his name, and be outted as scum.
I did the same thing, as I am
STAR
, who is apparently a vampire in the film.

oh and Fonz is at -1.
Could we please,
please
,
please
,
please
STOP CLAIMING
?!?!!

I have NEVER seen a town so intent on fucking itself up.

If one more person claims needlessly, I will request replacement. This has officially passed from ludicrously stupid to hideously moronic.

Fonz claimed vanilla vampire because he knew he could get away with it, thanks in part to the outrageously foolish nameclaiming of some other people I would care not to mention.

If Fonz turns up vanilla town, then what have we lost? I think it's enormously plausible that this is a fake claim.

Thank you, and please for the love of all that is good and decent in this world stop playing like you're all on crack.

I think that a

would be prudent at this point.

That said, I now have to find somebody to vote for. My suspicion of Maryta is gone- it was more of a lurking thing, it's time to move on for now. I think TCS is more likely. I think he's trying to draw attention to some possible setups, and away from others; afraid the town's getting too close?

I haven't commented upon any setups. You, sir, are dramatically full of shit.

It is mostly the fact that he has been building cases and showing suspicions himself, but his votes are all tag-along votes and specifically not on the people he seems to have his own suspicions of. Even his TinVision vote (the only non-random vote not mentioned above) only uses justification provided by HH earlier.

I can't believe I never thought of that myself. That's actually a really good point, but it doesn't particularly alter who I see as suspicious. Chalk up a new learnin' experience for the still-relatively-new player.
People playing the newbie card on page 33 deserve to be lynch. Call it a metagame.

Actually, i disagree. As this opinion becomes more accepted, less scum are going to claim vanilla townie, and thus, scum who are under pressure on Day 1, may buy themselves some time with a power-role claim.

Just a thought
BM
That's exactly what we want... scum to claim counterable or verifiable roles..

When new information becomes available to clarify an issue I had earlier I am going to bring it up and discuss it. I did not vote BM, I gave him an fos for suspicious behavior back then and new discussion that would help to explain his motivations. Call it a marker if you will. I see a couple people thought it was worth more than an fos, so my point was not frivolous.
I am not ready to lynch GoW and his claim, without a counter-claim is the reason. It is apparent that by doing so, I am buying into the notion that Flay did not just drop all the names randomly into a hat and draw them out, randomly assigning roles. I tie Marko to David, and there is no scenario in any of my speculations that say that lynching him
today
would be a good move.
The thing is, we don't know enough about the setup at this point to make any kind of educated guess about which rolenames might be pro-town and which might not be. The most "obveous" answer, that the characters who were vampires in the movie are all scum, is clearly not true, and beyond that, we don't really know anything. So I'd say we're much better off at this stage of the game just lynching people based on behavior rather then try to figure out who's on what side based just on rolenames. Trying to outguess the mod at this stage with such limited information is not likely to get us anywhere productive, I think.
Quoted for truth.

I would also like to see Sudo_Nym lynched. My vote on ectomancer by no means that I think Sudo is cleared.

That seems like a strange way of putting it. Nothing has changed since I voted for him, at least, but then again I voted for him after he claimed. Why would you suggest that people should not "remain" on his wagon? Do you think his claim was that strong, or what?
I think that the case is "that" weak.

I apologize very sincerely to the town I'm letting down, but school is very busy right now.

I will attempt to get a re-read and substantial posts in, but don't hold your breath.

As it is, I'm still baffled as to why we aren't lynching Sudo_Nuym, and I think that a dybeck lynch would indeed be very bad for the town.

FOS: everyone on the Pooky wagon
.

@ Ecto: It doesn't matter whether there's only a cult or anything. I'm of the opinion that all we are dealing with is a cult, since there was no nightkill last night, but I suppose anything could really be going on at this point in the day. Back to my point however--it doesn't matter. We need to lynch someone who we think is anti-town. I still think Sudo_Nym is anti-town. I am suspicious of you (Ecto) and Mariyta for latching onto wagons that I think are targeting obv-town players.

I will remain voting Sudo_Nym in the hopes that you all will come to your senses, but I will switch to an Ecto or Mari wagon if only to avoid deadline lynching someone whom I think is innocent, or a no-lynch.
