Hey everyone! I got through it all by neglecting my english homework! Maybe I should bring random allusions to this game up in class.
Professor: How does Ovid use metamorphoses in this story? Yes, Jeff?
STD: I think he's saying that mathcam is clearly scum.
Should, under closer inspection, be read as:Max wrote:we're 3 from lynch does bluemonick realise that
and the following:Max wrote:us n00bs got to stick together even if I don't know your alignment
should be:Max wrote:O.K now BMQ
dead wood any player that is not helpful
WHY AREN'T WE LYNCHING BJ
Bogre maybe you should listen to BJ andvote Bogreas then you can get lynched
YES ABOVE IS A REAL VOTE
Although in Max's defence, he did do something right. But that's more me thinking he's smarter than he seems to be.Max wrote:Dude! Spamwise! You like eggs? Let's go egghunting sometime!
As for LML, when he said
I think he meant it.LML wrote:

anyway...
The scumzors are:
Cesspit
Mathcam
less likely but still possible
Spectrumvoid
Pooky
People who are both scum and town (seriously, these people are scummy but have given me reason to believe they are town as well)
Yosarian
Ibaesha
CESSPIT
General play D1, then he kinda crawls in the shadows and pops out from time to time. His votes are oppurtunistic.
Also, ontwo seperate occasions, he votes viperscum and then quickly backs away.
MATHCAM
Did anyone else notice this besides mathcam? Upon my reread I noticed it and was going to point it out, but it seems to have slipped through. But mathcam picks it up and tosses it aside. You are a smooth one, mathcam.SpamWise wrote:I can vouch that the office of Jack Johnson is pro-town
I also don't like how you keep moving around.
SPECTRUMVOID
I'm getting bad mojo from you, but if I really want to pursue you, I'll be sure to present something. There was something you did that I misinturpreted throughout the game, and when I double checked it was something different, so it might be from that.
POOKY
telling people you have a hidden camera filming them doesn't make it candid anymore. If you noticed anything while being Dr. House, I for one would like to hear it.
YOSARIAN
Yosarian2 wrote:I was origionally Jack Xavier. I was basically a vanillia townie, as (to paraphrase) the office was empty of things other the office furnature.
Now, after my office was bombed, I am a townie of indeterminate name.
Plz explain how you knew about items if you didn't have one.Yosarian2 wrote:If someone with an item dies, does that item go to somewhere else, or is it just lost?
IBBY
ibaesha wrote:(AND I AM SICK TO DEATH OF PLAYSTYLE EXCUSES)
With all that, ibaesha wrote: Pooky: Pooky lurks - he does it more as town than scum. He was also on bluemonick's lynch and he hates bussing so he got points for that.Vote: MathcamandFOS all you others.-

Please quote me if I'm wrong, but...Yosarian2 wrote:It's clear, from the mod's discription of the game, from the first mod post, and from my own PM, that your abilities are based on the items in your office.
This is the only time Yaw mentions items, and they aren't items in offices, they are products being sold.Yaw wrote:(While your company in known for the zany stuff sent to Wile E. Coyote, you actually make most of your revenue selling useful and less exciting items.)
There appears to be no correlation between roles and items within the office. Tools could mean any number of things.Yaw, describing the game in the queue thread wrote:Your name is Jack. As a good Jack, you have the inherent ability to perform any task, as long as you have the tools to do so. You work in the offices of ACME Industries, a place with many marvellous inventions...so when killers infiltrate the office you will have to use the tools you have to drive them out.
That leaves your own PM, which I'm not privy to. I still fail to see how you come up with items for everyone when you don't seem to have any.-

I'm willing to drop this, since there's not much else I can argue, and I'm believing it to be possible. It just caught my attention.
But Yaw says tools, not "each office has a tool." I don't see how an outsider can mix the two. I don't see how it's obvious to come to that conclusion.
But I really care more about lynching scumwise/scumcam.-

while he may have been an idiot...
the whole surfboard and guitar thing was something I picked up on as a joke (read, NSW = Australia = probably Sydney, as it is in NSW = surfing) and I probably would have said something simmilar had my office moved. And I'm not an idiot (i'm a dumbass).
I still can see it as a scumtell even if he were an idiot, however, I think I did make a mistake in not looking at the quote as a whole.
I still find it suspicious that you keep moving around, but I'm willing to move on.

it's interesting to note, but i'm really not sure if it's scummy or not.mathcam wrote:StD: It seems like your number one suspicion of me is that I brought up something scummy that spamwise did, that everyone else seems to have ignored. Can you explain again why that's scummy?
The fact is, spamwise said something and put it the way you quoted and I quoted it, it makes it seem like he's presuming something about his role that's not true. you become him and have to defend against what he did which is no easy task (i'm in your shoes right now) but it was interesting that no one else caught it and you did so you could pre-emptively remove it from our minds.
A lot of it was behavior that Spamwise had. And also some of it is making connections between you and other living people. If they start turning up scum, I'm going to look more heavily towards you, but until then I'm more interested in Cesspit.-

FOS: HarryPotteralthough I can't really hold it against you. I always say, "I'll do it tommorrow" and then next week I return to the game and find that I've been lynched.
Hmmm.
We could switch it over to Mmod to give the replacement a chance.
On the other hand...45 pages is a lot...if enough people are sure of Cesspit's guilt there's no need for a replacement.
Or we could...i dunno. Those are the two I'd be willing to vote right now.-

Umm...his post was his take on everyone in the game. I'm not going to sit here and say scum wouldn't do that, but I'm not going to accuse such a post of being scummy when I fail to see what's wrong with it.
If you think MBL is town, don't bother.
If you think he's scum, show it.
I am not convinced, so I won't vote him.
I'm more convinced of either Cesspit or MMoD. I have stated my case against harrypotter, and I fos:pooky to see who would respond, not to fos him. MoS said nothing, which makes me wonder.
I'd be willing to go after Fuldu or Coron. Right now I think the play is Cess or MMoD.

As for Pooky: I'm not liking what you're spewing. I'm loving the fact you are participating, but the whole appeal to emotion thing isn't doing it for me.
As for MoS: First of all, the point was that I was giving you a ball and I wanted to see how you played with it. When I revealed that, there's no point is seeing what the result is because it could easily be falsified.
Second of all, I don't see how you can link one living person with another and call them scum. If MBL is scum and Cesspit isn't, then he can use what you've said against you. If MBL is town and Cesspit is scum, (and you are too) then you could just reiterate what you're saying.-

It is a moot point.
Here's the play by play.
STD sees MoS defend Pooky.
STD recalls MoS has defend Pooky before in previous game without taking into consideration Pooky's alignment.
STD decides to see how MoS will behave when he FOS: Pooky.
STD has no idea what will happen and wants to analyze what does happen to see if he can better determine MoS's alignment, because he has hypothoses about how MoS will react if town or scum.
MoS misses statement entirely.
STD wonders about what could have happened, but does not find MoS suspicious in any way because of this incident.
STD backs down because no data was recieved.
STD should have explained himself more clearly.
Yeah, that's not clear at all. I meant to say something to the affect of, "MoS said nothing, which makes me wonder what I could have learned had he said something during that time, i.e. 'POOKS CAN'T BE LYNCHED DIE SCUM DIE.'"Save The Dragons wrote:MoS said nothing, which makes me wonder.
I had reason to believe you'd play with the ball no matter how deflated it was, however.-

Hmm. I'm not so sure negativity equates scum more than it does frustration, but I see you just think MBL is more likely to be scum than other people. I have not found MBL to be particularly scummy but it is a possibility. Maybe someday I'll look back over the thread, but that may not happen.-

Half of it is vibey, half of it is fact. Usually the kill lists include dead weight and such.
Kill:
armlx = worthless
Uraj45 = interesting posts as of late
Coron = lurking
Fuldu = i'm voting you
Harry_Potter = not posting much
MrBuddyLee = could possibly be scum
mystery meat of doom = not helpful
PookyTheMagicalBear = not particularly helpful, appeals to emotion bothersome
mathcam = gettin' bad vibes on this one, dudes.
Oberon = not helpful
No kill:
ibaesha = seems sincere
Mastermind of Sin = seems sincere
Save The Dragons = trust me
spectrumvoid = the whole PM thing
Yosarian2 = signs point to town-

I don't think MBL's a good candidate, and I think he's town. While these debates seem very unhelpful and nitpicky, I see them as town trying to encourage people to post and figuring out where they stand. I will admit it does not appear to the be the best way (the phrase, "who are the scum, Pooky?" comes to mind), but I don't think it's bad.
I just can't describe how I feel about mathcam, but it's a collection of little things, like little balls of mercury falling into a container. Spamwise threw in big chunks of it, but ever since then, I feel mathcam has, with every post, been dropping a little bit, and it builds up. You can't tell when he drops it, but you notice the pot is fuller. That's kinda what I feel.
I wasn't satisfied with Spamwise's posts.
I wasn't satisfied with his explaination (although he did a pretty darn good job)
I'm not satisfied that this latest post is sincere or scum going for easy pickings (and they don't come much easier than MBL).
In any case,Vote: Mathcam. Intuition. I'll eat my firstborn if you're town.*

Here's the problem.
To me it looks like you linked that to get people to follow you and vote based on metagame reasons.
To be honest, I hate it when people lie for the hell of it. I wouldn't mind lynching those people.
However, now is hardly the time to start executing metagame strategies. If you're town and you think SV is town, then it makes no sense to lynch her just to prevent her from lying in the future.
One day, pro-town lying won't work (I still don't understand the full ramifications of what happened here, explain plz?), and she'll have to deal with it.-

No, you quoted a wiki article on game theory, you did not provide emperical proof on a fact.Uraj45 wrote:Again I will say to STD that I try to backup any of my arguments with proof whenever I can. A strong argument is backed with evidence and making a strong argument is a good idea no matter what side you're on. Figuring something out is useless if you can't
What's scummy is that you keep seeming to want to present this theory as fact to sway people into believing it.

hey i think it get it now...the whole lying thing. I still am not too sure how pab figured it out, but maybe one day it'll come to me.
And that day is today! I feel so smart. SV is what pablito was and was asking for the switcher.
Bah come on let's ignore my inate ramblings and kill Uraj. Feel free to add this to the list of attacks against you.

I'd rather wait.
I kinda want my old office back, or at least put someone in my old office if I'm not to be trusted.
Yaw: I'm including the posts other people have made adding $100 to the fund. I hope you don't mind...*pets giant dragon with mouth aimed towards house*

They could pay the bill for you...I don't personally want to burn down things...Yaw wrote:Don't worry about me, folks, STD has an old address. That's been since turned into a tattoo parlour. I'm sure those bikers will be awfully happy to see their place burned down...
That was hard to type with a straight face.
I take it that's a 'no' on the office switching, then.spectrumvoid wrote: I'm currently skimming through STD. Does anyone think STD is scummy for whatever reason?

MoS, you're a fast one.
I shall take care of MMoD.
MMoD has posted 37 times. Here are important tidbits.
Post 2: Joins viper wagon (scum, last known as bluemonick) because he's annoying
Post 4: Switches to Borge (town), for reasons stated by others. Calls Spamwise (town, last known as Mathcam) out for saying Viperwagon stalled because scumbuddies are on it...interesting.
Post 5: Asks for a claim 3 hours after voting
Post 7: Votes TSS(SK) for attacking Colonel Kurtz (Uraj, protown) for his attack on lordy (protown) for appearing to claim a pro-town role. MMoD states that it seems CK's talking about a mafia role.
Post 8: Points out that lordy did not actually claim a role to armlx (AKA pablito, protown).
Post 9: During the bluemonick wagon, votes for Masterchief (Protown, inhimshallIbe) for MC's bad logic.
Post 10: States why a role swapping office is probably pro-town.
Post 11: States he believes alignments came with offices, but abilities can switch.
Next 4 posts: "I'm going to reread"
Post 17: Mentions suspicion on Yosarian(protown) for derailing viperwagon (scum) on D1 for mlaker (Borge, pro-town). Suspicious of MBL (protown) and Harry_Potter (Quagmire, alive) as well.
Post 18: Response to MoS (alive), answers with a "i dunno," about Cesspit (mathcam, pro-town). Call's pooky (alive) lurking.
Post 22: Claims roleswitcher
Post 23: Reconsiders claim
Post 24: Clarifies claim
Post 25: Pimps claim
Post 27: Claimed to move Yos.
Post 28: Defends moving people every night.
Post 29: Suspicious of SV (alive) for involvement in matchcam wagon (protown)
Post 30: Votes for SV (alive).
Post 31: "WTF did we just lose?"
Post 32: Tries to switch SV(alive) to Jack Kay's office...isn't this another office switcher? Said uber-switcher overrided him, although Spectrumvoiddidgo to Jack Kay's office.
Post 34: Reveals Jack Zimmerman's (CES, protown) office as uberswitcher, supports Uraj (protown) lynch.
Post 35: Explains a "WTF did we just lose?" post earlier...I'm not 100% I buy this as genuine.
Post 37: Suggest moving someone into the cop office.
Good Points:
* The "WTF did we just lose?" seems genuine, like he actually saw scum talking about the game being won. It's a little sketchy, but I think I can buy it. It's a wierd thing for scum to do.
*Posts logical points, at least gives a mild explaination for his votes.
Bad Points:
* Jumps off of viper wagon to join the Borgewagon
* Accuses Yosarian of derailing the viper wagon. Yosarian was never on the viper wagon, and MMoD jumped off of it to join Yos's wagon.
*Barely any of his own analysis, it mostly relies on other people's arguements and agreeing with them.
*Joins SV wagon when it picks up steam
Neutral Points:
* Pimps claim out to anyone.
* Says that SV was switched by the uberswitcher and not him, even though SV went into the office he stated.
I probably would not be opposed to lynching MMoD; I am not satisfied with his play. However, I want to see how other people look, since I'm not quite ready to condemn MMoD yet.

I wanted to know why you were voting Cesspit if you thought Cesspit had information. You presented three scenarios for Cesspit to have information, and voted him anyway.Mastermind of Sin wrote:Unvotes Cesspit, no reason why. Quotes a couple of my posts with a "?" after them, I don't know what he was getting at with that.
Asks me some questions about Cesspit, then asks me another question that I didn't understand and asked for some context about.
I did not think it made you particularly scummy, but it was a reason why I no longer wanted to vote Cesspit at the time (I'd later fogotten about this whole ordeal.)Ignores my request and moves on to vote MMoD when it's pointed out that he keeps saying he'll reread but never does.
And as you can see, I'd forgotten sooner rather than later.Goes back to Cesspit, no reason given.
Basically: I unvoted Cesspit because if he had information, I wanted to be more cautious with my vote.I would like an explanation of this, both the lack of reason for unvoting and revoting Cesspit, plus the ignoring my clarification request when you had apparently unvoted Cesspit based off something I said/did, then moving straight to MMoD and disregarding the whole thing with Cesspit.
I ignored your clarification because fire rained down from the sky and a voice told me to go for and be fruitful. That, or I've, once again, long since forgotten.
I went to MMoD because I found Cesspit less suspicious. I probably switched back when I found it more suspicious.
Yeah. I just wanted to see how you'd respond.I'm still confused somewhat by the whole FoS Pooky thing, but I think I kinda see where STD was coming from, so I guess that's fine. I think it was mostly miscommunication between us, anyways.
MMoD is done.I'd like to hear what STD has to say about Coron, Quagmire, MMoD, and Pooky (those four in particular).
Pooky's like a blip that appears every once in a while. My gut says that he's not scum, but I don't trust my gut too much.
I like Coron as well. I think his scumhunting, although it might not be accurate, is not completely baseless, even if he does not give his reasons. I could still just as well see him as scum, but right now I'm not leaning that way.
Quagmire just wants to kill you. That's all there is to him. I'm not particularly liking that at the moment.
I have absolutely no idea why I said that you were scum. I'm sure I had a reason, but it escapes me, nor did I care to write it down. So...I don't really think you're scum.I also want to know why STD went from saying that he felt I was genuine and shouldn't be lynched, then was stating I was scum while wanting Uraj lynched, but today, the only posts he's made have been about his new office and wanting his old one back. If you really think I'm scum, why haven't you voted me or presented reasoning to get me lynched, since your #1 suspect, Uraj, was lynched yesterday?
My mind changes. I at first thought the whole PM thing was good for her, then she does here roleblocky speil and posts some strange posts imo. Yesterday, she explained how she lied, which may or may not account for what happened, but it does, IMO, make here look a little more town. Also, why has SV bounced around in your suspicion list? You had her on your no kill list, but then you wanted to lynch her, Fuldu, and Uraj equally, and even voted her. Then, yesterday, you went after Uraj and mentioned that I was scum, but never even talked about SV at all.-
