I will defend Glork today to the bone. He'll have some awesome moves (whether anti-town or pro-town) within time and even if he's scum, I will not vote him/suggest his execution because he'll have such an uphill battle to fight. He's going to try to live up to last Kingmaker so he's got a tough image to beat. Either he's going to have to look like a supremely pro-town townie or a supremely pro-town assassin. He's already so visible (ditto with petroleumjelly) that it'll be easier to sniff out pro-town and anti-town vibes from them later. I'd rather focus on sniffing out the less visible players this time even if it means everyone is going to vote and suspect me.

Sorry for disappearing but I had some personal problems the mod is aware of.
I also had another post about saying that I was reading the game and would be posting soon, but the Notes feature is failing me and I could not make my personal notes like i'm used too.

I don't think I promoted a pablito/Glork pairing. I think pablito tryed hard to be paired with him.
I played with pablito just once, but his behavior was much much different from that. Also, I think he is very capable of knowing how scummy that would look.
I can't think of a good reason to doing that as a protown strategy. As scum this could serve to either be associated with a (protown) Glork, spreading a cloud of suspicion around him or to distance from a (scum) Glork, making him look a victim of frame.
I think pablito himself could reveal what he was thinking when he said all that.

Ninja Report on the List of Execution

Sorry for taking long to do this.
After checking all posts from both Yosarian2 and Pooky and summarizing the topics they got into here are my thoughts about them:

I just played with Yosarian2 once (Himalayan).
Checking Yosarian's posts I notice that his favorite topic before the glitches was MoS's refusal on voting and Phoebus' lack of contribution.
After that he also talked a lot about some attacks from Twomz on bird1111 that got deleted by the glitch.
By the end of October Glork found "something" while skimming over his posts and since then Yosarian2 have pretty much just been defending himself.
He also seems to be unsatisfied with King Glork's methods accusing him of not commenting on the summaries he requests.
I really don't find him as scummy as most of the town seems to. The fact that MoS and Phoebus' methods don't make them necessarily scummy does not make Yos scummy for disagreeing with them.

I played several games with Pooky (although he probably didn't notice my existence) and I must say that I'm completely unable to read him.
Pooky acts the same way as town and scum, he likes to hide information and when he attacks a player it’s hard to tell if it’s based on facts, gut, or if he is just scum trying to mislead the town.
Once I played two games with him at the same time (Himalayan and Literary). I thought he was scum in Himalayan and town in Literary. I was wrong in both.
He didn’t post much in this game.
He started mocking Twomz for posting without content, then attacked Glork for going too hard on PJ and threatening the King Maker into making him king.
On Day two he pretty much spoke against bandwagoning and did a little summary on other player’s by King’s request.

If I had to choose between one of them I’d execute Pooky, since Yos looks protown to me and has participated much more.

The funny part is that both had criticized Glork at some point, while the “I love Glork” gang is safe.

I do intend to make people participate and take a stance.

I would like every player to list the three players they suspect the most (or if they do not suspect anybody the three they would mind less to see executed) and why.

Feel free to put me in your list if you suspect me (although I will not execute myself, of course).
I will question players based on the contend of their "top3" list and my personal notes. I will use this information to build my list of execution, which will be step 2.

I'm not pleased how you guys are saying as if executing any lurker at all would be good.
I do believe there are mafiosi among the lurkers, but if you don't look at each case separately and point the scummier one you are just giving the king, if scum, a chance for an easy kill free of suspicion.

To DR: 'll try to explain why: I didn't like the way Glork was going after Yos without a reason hard yesterday, making everyone basically choose between Yos or Pooky. Even though the end result was good (we got scum yay!), going after someone without a reason is generally a major scum-tell. I've elaborated on this before somewhere recently.

We need to do a better job of pressuring the lurkers. Or, maybe, just the King does. Whoever.

Basically I've sat back this entire game so far (since subbing in) without really posting anything other than a post or two at the beginning. And I don't have any votes (and didn't last time). I'm relatively certain, with all the high-octane players getting into arguments about scum psychology, that there are a fair number of scum just sitting back and watching. There are about 5 or 6 players consistently posting, and everyone else is just nowhere. We need to get more chatter out of everyone.

I don't think you are not getting votes because people are not hunting lurkers.
There are too much lurkers. And some are doing a better job at lurking than you.
I don't know if you think that stating that you are lurking without punishment will help anything. Start participating yourself will be much better.
Also, I'm still waiting for your top3. It's been one month since you manifested any opinion on any player (post #1013).

Hi,
I had a busy week at work, had to work overtime everyday and was too tired to follow my games.
It's a pity since I think I have a good strategy for this game and it may be my only chance to use it but I don't know if I will have to alter it due to the lost time.
I will be catching up now and will soon follow with my last pre-loe set of questions (need to check what the players have been posting and my personal notes).
I would like though to say this:

I am against a player posting an analysis of ALL other players.

Why?
Townies just need to know one thing: Who should be lynched.
Scum needs to know two things: The scummiest protown players to be setup and the least scummy to be nightkilled.

Every time we analyze player by player we end up pointing who we suspect more, who we suspect less and who we do not suspect at all. By doing this we helping scum to plan ahead and choose who they may frame later and who they will kill in the next nights.

That's one of the reasons (the other reasons to be explained when I get all the information I need) why I ask that you point only

YOUR TOP3 SUSPECTS

. I think we should let scum try to tell the least suspected(who may be lynched in the futre) from the not suspected at all (who will probably not be lynched).
In Himalayan I was surprised how people that i suspected (Thesp and Pooky) were nightkilled early while people I didn't suspect at all (Fritzler and Yosarian) lived until late in the game, again I'm not a fan of sharing information. I generally attack the players I suspect more and only defend a player I trust if he/she is in danger of being lynched.

Btw, before I make today's execution you will have my opinion on every player in and out the execution list. It may sound as a contradiction but the king is a special case.

Townies just need to know one thing: Who should be lynched.

Even if you mean Kingmaker -setup only, that still doesn't sound right to me. Townies should also know why somebody was lynched, and preferably who was against and who was for that lynch. Today's townie might be tomorrow's king and that info will come then helpful for them.

Also, how do you suggest townies will get their top3 suspect lists if they don't have connection info between people? By gut?

Olio, I Don't want , in any way, that conversation be restricted to the top3.
If you think a, b and c are scum; feel free to accuse them and provide your reasoning.
If you want to clarify x, y and z's points; feel free to question them and call them out on what you have seen.
What I don't like about player-by-player lists is that if you really think 1, 2 and 3 are pro-town, and enough people agree with you, you are drawing a target in their back.
This bit of information is, in my opinion, much more helpful to scum. Scum can simply put their partners in various levels of suspcion and base their nightkills on the input of the real townies.

A Top3 list implies more commitment.
In this game votes mean little and people vote and unvote at will with little effect. People vote to make people participate, people vote all lurkers, people vote jokingly.
I think the top3 record will draw a more accurate map of where each player stands by showing who they actually would like (or wouldn't mind) to see executed.

Also, the top3 is not a poll to elect who should be on my loe.
I will take full responsibility on the choice of each loe member. And you will know why they are there.

Read the game rules. There MAY be a HERO in this game.
If the King executes the HERO, the King dies instead (but the hero won't be able to be king anymore).

The HERO cannot become Kingmaker, so if we all know the Kingmaker we will know who ISN'T the HERO.

In a lynch or lose situation (remember we do not know how many scum there are, but they do, so when we get in lol only scum will know that) it's an automatic scum win, since they will not run the risk of choosing the possible HERO.

I have suspicions on who could be the kingmaker (as who could possibly have chosen me as King) but I refuse to discuss since it's obviously bad for the town.

I apologize to the town for doing "nothing" recently, like Glork said. But I'm not doing this because I'm hesitating to move on with the plan.
My intention was to have a much closer participation, just like I managed to do on the first week of January, but when I thought of this strategy I never thought I could be King so early.
I planned this thinking of a late-game situation where I would have less players to take care and would only be playing this game (I am playing anther game atm).
Also, I can never predict when a week will be busy at my job, but two of my co-workers were fired and I'm doing alone the work of three.
It's been hard to keep up the way I expected.

Here I am again, not because I received a prod, but because it was the first chance I had.
Although I feel really commited to the games I play, and this game in special (I came back after being replaced, didn't I?) I have other commitments that take precedence, and I really had NO time in front of a computer recently ,even on the weekend.
I know some of you would think I would rather ask to be replaced but the reason why I like playing forum mafia is that even whith my busy schedule I can always log in once or twice a week, catchup the one or two games i'm playing and make meaningful posts.
The problem is that being king in kingmaker is probably much more responsibility than any other role in any other game, and more time consuming too.
I may be responsible by the slowness of the game, but not because I wanted. If my plan worked as I wanted it could have been the top of my mafia career. It's a pity I didn't have the time to put it properly in execution.
Not that I was one of the many "candidates to king" around.
In a few moments an explanation of my original plan.

The idea came up when I was catching up at King Glork's demand on Day 2.
I started making a one-line comment on each post of each player. It took me much more time than expected (I didn't finish in time) to do this and in the end what I had was a map of references to most posts of each player, making it easier to compare a post made by a player with what him/her had said before.

Part 1 : The first part of the plan would be to make questions to each player. The purpose of those questions was not to receive an answer to a doubt, but to verify, by comparing to the previous posts of that player, if that player's arguments were sincere.
For example, if A says that B is scum, I was more interested in why A thought B is scum, and if it looks like a sincere or a made up argument, and if it's in accordance to A's general line of thought, than in the argument per se.

Part 2: Other important thing was the behavior. I didn't manifest any opinion on any player during day 3.
How did the players who always agreed with the king on the previous days behaved having to think for themselves?
Lurkers. Who were the lurkers who left the site and who were the ones who were just avoiding the game?

Part 3: Top3. The reason to ask for a top3 and a brief explanation was never to see if the players would convince me their top3 were scum. The intention was to each player commit to people who they actually thought were scum (vote doesn't matter much in this game, scum can vote their buddies freely without harm) and see if their arguments were in accordance with their thoughts from the first 2 days.

Part 4: LoE. Just one person can be executed on each day, but since we probably have more than one mafioso I think to call attention to certain behavior of certain players is very important. I wanted to make it in two steps, first with all players I thought deserved speial attention and than with real execution candidates.

Well, I know some bored people want me to end the day already, but it would be just wrong.
I was informed yesterday I will have a free weekend (next one). I intend to spend that weekend re-reading the game, checking the info I mentioned in my previous explanation and making the player-by-player analysis I promised before.

First of all: Congratulations, PJ. You are my hero!
Being scum in a game like this that lasted over an year and still be apointed King for the third time is something to crown a career.

I really apologize I ended leaving the game. By the time I was appointed King I entered the busiest period in my five years at this work. I could just have internet access every now and then and could never catch up. I should have asked to be replaced by then, but I wanted so much to stay that I couldn't. When I finally got replaced I decided to enter a hiatus to put everything in order. Being King AT THAT TIME really killed me, if I were not I could have lurked my way out of the busy times just fine.

That said I must remark that if there is a Kingmaker 3, it should have less players. This game suffered a lot with the constant need of replacements and neverending days. Fix deadlines could help too.

By the way, I think KM 1 and KM 2 show that we need to work on the setup a bit. Just sayin'.

KM1 had too many confirmed townies.

KM2 had more scum and no roles to balance that and in the end was a mountainous with too much scum.:p

BTW, why didn't you choose Fritzler, the only confirmed innocent, to be the next King?
