if you can be bothered to provide an adequate answer in which if you can't or won't I will only be able to draw the conclusion that you are incompetent, what did you think of fate's entrance and the spurt of activity it drew? players whom other players center their whole games around interest me and he is clearly one of those kind of players.

question #2: looking at the player list, who do you see sheeping the stronger players and what impact do you think it will have on the game and what is your strategy for dealing with them? what would an optimal d3 look like...2 dead scum? good! how do you plan on making that happen?

question #3: who is on your town list? how do you plan on working with them towards an optimal midgame scenario?

question #4 (or #5): on d4, worst case scenario, we are lynching town every day and the outed specials are dead and there is not enough town players who have found each other but are instead being lead around by the nose as scum?

the part that you are missing is that mafia is also a game of social interaction and with always keeping the win condition in mind, some players that you are attempting to marginalise might actually be aware enough that they will not be around long and are working towards a scenario where they have mined enough info that some of their town reads will pick up and follow through. it is a team game. I imagine that this is why vifam is giving you an aspie burn cos you have somehow managed to miss all of this but I think it might be simply a preference of style over substance.

I am not worried about vifam. not even the slightest. he is shrewd and he knows what the fuck is up and while it may look like to you we are not taking the game seriously you are missing that we are seriously gaming and it just might look differently cos we are coming from a secure space of being pretty much confirmed town. we can relax and have fun...but I know I am working towards a town wc and I bet money vifam is too.

1) All the Fate enterance did was basically affirm the Nacho-town read. The rest of what happened in there was all the you-tim-vifam who I dont really want to read much spamming what should have been a page to five pages. 2) Im not saying sheep the strong players. Im saying stop screwing around and acting like this is a chatroom instead of a forum game. Lots of posts when very few have legitimate content make the game seem larger which saps energy of players who are not actively involved and makes us miss stuff. If you eliminate the noise there is far less places for scum to hide while appearing active and it makes for an environment that is more conducive to scumhunting.

I have a massive issue with Vifam as a player mostly because the only other time I saw them they posted "catching up" type posts for over a week, never did and flaked. Buck those types, there is no reason to do that really to start for that length of time and even MORE, no reason to do that while (im pretty sure) staying active in GD and not eventually informing the mod you cant stay with the game. Its unethical and I dont forget that type of stuff.

But really, the fact that most of his posts are in short succession and maybe one of the three actually has any bearing being in a game, its horrible to read and just kill the game for those who arent in the "herp derp he funny" clique. If you want to screw around in a game, go play with a group who just wants to screw around. triangulation is when we bring another player that we are unsure about into a convo. we ask about what reads they have and help build a trail that can be used later in the game. scum typically don't like the proximity of that type of engagement and it is hard for them in to look natural when we are firing questions like, "what do you mean by this post? why do you think that about player x". I have seen scum wilt before your very eyes when you corner them.

does that sound like fun to you? I think we will have the chemistry to be able to play off of each other and pull it off, we are both often frequent posters so that will make it easy.

Anyways, we apparently need a little sanity this game so:

Fate - If you are town get off the zab wagon. You know im far better at picking up town reads than picking up scum reads and im reading zab as town given a tell of mine which tends to be fairly reliable. Its in that limbo state where its not obvious for everypony else yet but I see it and it seems to keep getting circled around. Im not going to go through and make up some BS case as to why he is town that isnt my tell but if you want to it starts with "this is a newbie who isnt able to keep up with this sort of a game and falling apart because of it". The case on him is not indicative of alignment but the ability to play in this game in specific. Scum or town he would be dropping the same tells he is right now I can almost guarentee it. I doubt he would be dropping the town tells he is as scum though, the only times ive seen scum hit these tells is purely accidentally and thats rare.

Kats wagon - Just stop. Kats I will defend into the ground and do just about everything in my power to dead stop. They are one of my strongest town reads and that lynch putting it simply is not happening. The ponies on that wagon are just plodding along and really using Kats to avoid the main topics.

Lurkers - I will join the wagon of any lurker right now with the exception of bv. I would prefer PV but if anypony can get a wagon going there im down for it.

"lynching the lurkers" is usually an easy go for scum cos they luck the luster of an actual scum flip in timed games. however in this format it seems like there is the opportunity to just....wait it out.

You + Tim + Vifam + HD + Calcifer have almost 2/3 of the posts. I have been doing anything but lurking and the mod is outpacing me by a few posts.

@Vifam - Zoid apart from the whole no role thing to start, I actually think his fighting the zab wagon is a mild towntell. The only other real wagon at that point was Fate which is what he is on. By the way, Tim is a freakishly excellent pick for SK.

PGO and SK in the same game is just... not too common given how much they conflict. Especially the way that Tim seems to be "only kinda" PGO which he could probably pull to explain away a target later in the game. Really I dont think the SK could be anypony but one of those two, and im actually leaning away from Fate.

I mean, Fate claim confirms a SK. Anything else and its complete suicide and its a claim that doesnt stand up to well to start. So he is SK or town SK-Cop. Which means that there is a SK since he apparently is confirmed to know a SK exists. So there is a SK which means there is a SK with a PGO, or there is a SK who fakeclaimed PGO.

Tim is not a player who is threatening at all, more like the sheep in the flock of sheep that has no teeth, is blind, and possibly missing all of its legs so has to roll around randomly to hopefully one day get anywhere it wants to go. Not sure his theory behind it, but claiming PGO as that type of player aids him more as non-town than as town.

I want to think it over more but im debating just turning that read around, because I dont see the SK out of those two. Also really what would you expect a SK to do if its not Fate apart from try to lock down the wagon hard? Really those who are distancin from it are basically confirmed not-SK already because really, the wagon isnt out of reach, if Fate as town gets lynched here, there goes the one big threat to the SK.

Actually I was expecting that reaction which was why I was kinda hesitant to make that post.

Tim isnt playing like what he has claimed, and the way roles line up im fairly confident that Fate is town. It just makes sense through the roles if you look close enough. For Fate and Tim to be town there would need to be a PGO and SK where the SK claims SK-cop and the PGO realizing that doesnt actually try to call the bluff.

My FIRST instinct as PGO would have been to make Fate target me after that claim. I had to mention it and Tim still seems adverse to the idea. If he is a PGO, what does he have to fear? It kills the player he thinks is scum.

Asking for something that's not going to happen is not very useful. Tracker flip means that you actually got really really lucky with your wording when you claimed because it was enough to actually look like it meshed well with my role.
