That (probably) ought to say asset.Mr. Flay wrote:chesskid, at least you're thinking, now. I still you'll need to prove you're an asses to the game, though.
For everyone else: fast kills or draw the lynch out for information? I wasn't quite expecting this level of unique game mechanics, and want us on the same page as much as possible. See: WiH 1, Succession, etc.

I won't daykill vezok if he doesn't fuck around. But if he starts making off the wall claims or distracting the game, then he's acting antitown and becomes a fair target.
I just don't want "lol VI" to become an excuse for scum/triggerhappy vigilantes to decimate the town.

That's not been my experience at all. EBHOBANOHAR, Angel Nightless, Mutually Assured Destruction, Texas Justice... people WANT to be vigs. They think they can do well at it. And if everyone* gets vig power, they want to use it before they get vigged themselves.Thestatusquo wrote:So flay, why does this strike you as the most important thing to talk about right now? Don't you think by bringing up the subject of day kills right away you might make one more likely?
I'm concerned that people might feel "well, this person is useless anyway, might as well off them early" and boom, we're down as many as two or three roles before we really discuss it. I think I prefer directing daykills as a way to get extra lynches (though I need to reread the rules on that part). Speaking of which...
Is it? I don't see that in the rules, but I might be missing something. DeathNote said that the player had to tellxvart wrote:Forgot that movement is publicly declaredhimwhen they wanted to move..Retired as of October 2014.-

No vote yet. I want to learn a few things first... like are we still en route to our destination?

Sorry, thought I'd replied to this.
Huh? Asking someone to daykill somebody else takes the direct heat off of you. It's similar to allowing somebody else to make your case, then jumping on and citing them. If they're wrong, hey, it was their case, not yours...AlmasterGM wrote:

I mean, I'm against random and constant daykills, but this is a really scummy thing to ask for.Retired as of October 2014.-

So, Notoriety makes me think it might be useful for everyone to claim Role Name now (is that allowed by the no-paraphrase rule?). Maybe I'm missing something, but having the ability to pick a different name after your real one is exposed is a big advantage for scum.
Also, everybody who thinks IS's killer was a dayvig needs tohave their head examinedbe strung up. VOTE: Midnight's Sorrow.
Almaster's reaction looks fake as hell. DGB's reaction, I'm torn on, but I don't trust myself so early. tajo's sudden appearance stinks.Retired as of October 2014.-

I misread your initial post after returning to the room too, Guderian. No harm done.
Faraday's idea to No Lynch repeatedly to beat scum to it looks worse in hindsight now, though... did you not know we could have our direction changed?? What did you see in the rules that made you think it's "not the best idea"?Retired as of October 2014.-

I don't understand the downsides of claiming role names, but whatever. I don't want to get distracted.
Speaking of distractions, it becomes pretty clear to me now that the town destination is Vaabi. The loss of the Pilot is probably not as bad as losing control of the Ship A.I. would be, going on the opening post information. Question is, did the pilot have that or does a (forex) Navigator?
Agree that whoever killed IS should claim, if they think it was a protown move. Anybody else killing should announce a duel first! This Secret Squirrel shit will just get us all killed.Retired as of October 2014.-

Just the proximity to IS' death. Circumstantial evidence FTW.populartajo wrote:forgot something on my reread, @flay, what on my sudden appearance stunk?
Sad to see your scumbuddy down so soon?Guderian wrote:Another death? At this rate, we wont make it out of day one.
Whoever shot Almaster should come forward. They are pretty much confirmed town at this point, baring 2 scum groups or more. (which seems unlikely)
Without losing any real suspicion on MS, UNVOTE: Midnight's Sorrow, VOTE: Guderian - seems off as hell.
Also, Almaster's flip makes me think we might be dealing with a Smalltown setup. In which case, claims are going to be even more suspect than usual. Hunt on scumminess, not role, folks.

For once, we are in agreement. Still, it's a tendency, not clearing.DrippingGoofball wrote:I'm liking Ivy. She displays a certain recklessness I tend to associate with townie behavior.
Bah, UNVOTE: Guderian. Forgot he was the first to out our destination (I was speedreading yesterday). Still somewhat scummy, but that facet makes me not want to lynch him today. Also, his play seems very focused on mechanics, but in an inquisitive way, not a scummy way (mostly).
VOTE: Midnight Sorrow - iso7 REEKS. That'd be his first post-IS-death post, for those playing along at home. Why would you possibly think that somebody killed IS because they thought he was SCUM?
I don't see why anyone would think there's multiple scum factions. The Technician (corrupt crew) seems to be working with the Convict (who I originally thought was going to be some sort of superSK). Unless "terrorist group" is separate, but I doubt it, given the flavor.Retired as of October 2014.-

Oh, Merciful Rao. I think I just learned something I didn't want to about the setup. Not sure how to explain it without making things worse, though... Suffice to say, I'm no longer quite so surprised neither vezok or chesskid has died to a daykill yet. More later, don't ask now.
Anyway, while I don't like CKD's laziness in asking me to search, Midnight's Sorrow is the first person to mention "scums" though hemightbe talking about a single multimember group, as opposed to a single SK in a game of 20 players. After that, Guderian's post 264 mentions the possibility, though he thinks it's low. xvart's post 292 argues with 264, implying he thinks itispossible/probable.
Ivy: Why do you think xvart has a weapon? Reread Guderian's post again; he said the scanner detects items, whether they are killing weapons or not.
Of course it is. I just didn't want another several pages of dragging out the obvious... even if scum didn't know the Town Destination originally, they did by the time two players said "Vaabi", so further inquiry is silly.PoisonIvy wrote:
Is yours not?Mr. Flay wrote:Speaking of distractions, it becomes pretty clear to me now that the town destination is Vaabi.
Guderian: What made you decide to reveal the scanner's entire description, when earlier you talked about hiding items as much as possible??
xvart: Smalltown just means 'roles' and 'alignments' are disassociated. Almaster was a Technician, but scum regardless, and strongly implied to be working with the convict/terrorists.
Uh huh. Not buying that that was sarcasm, sorry.Midnight's Sorrow wrote:Sarcasm apparently flies over your head, doesn't Mr. Flay?
Interesting on reread that AlmasterGM was one of the people objecting to a mass nameclaim. DGB will laugh at me for saying it, but I think it might be worth revisiting that. At the least, we can start to look for patterns. Nobody does it until at least a majority of living players agree, though...Retired as of October 2014.-

So, 'Miller' claim then. Interesting... if you are indeed forbidden to kill, we should be able to avoid wasting a lynch and just daykill you tomorrow. We need to know who that killer will be ahead of time, though, so that if for some reason you're lying it will be crystal clear.Retired as of October 2014.-
