Wow. This is gettin heated up atm. NS is 50/50 atm, but his reactions are full of rage, which from experience is either VERY SCUMMY or VERY TOWN (depends on the play overall). I still havent seen too much to end RVS, but I will say that this dispute seems to end this. Overall, I feel like that more time is needed to get an accurate read on NS. Whatever feelings you have for him, he's probably at the polar end of the spectrum rather than in the middle. He's either really town or really scummy.

Out of Togeloo and Nobody Special (the 2 top suspects atm), I like Togeloo scum. The post jokeclaiming scum is just fishy as where Adrien C is. He directly complies to the prod made to ask Dripping Goofball about the late train/voting (which I like as possible scum too). Additionally, he's confused at all of the NS, CSL, BM, etc. acronyms when all he needs to do is check the player list. atm, he's the scummiest imo.

Tenative FoS (more of a prod) on Chronopie

Just by glancing, I only saw at most 5 posts by him. I have little now, but I'll have a firm suspect and a vote soon.

What I'm trying to figure out is why players are leaving earth (Zazier in Heaven, CSL in Hell, etc.) and how that affects their alliance. Anyone know a thing about that?

Adrian C, AdumbroDeus, SharkFinn, Rena: I can't find too many of your previous games, so how would you describe your play style?

This is my third game (not much farther than you), but I tend to find a player and tunnel them until I get a read on them, so far it's been right, except I'm doubting Togeloo atm. I use my head, so when my logic is flawed, I'll retract my statements about the player until I can give a better reason that someone is scum.

Okay, so I've re-read this game for info on the levels and I cannot come up with anything to explain why DFB and Zanzier are in heaven. I noticed a ??? vote on Zanzier, but idk where it came from. I do know why AdrienC and CSL are in Hell though: it's because they messed up grabbing items off the ground, which lead to this. So I have a question for each of the for non-Earth residents: what happened to you after you were sent to wherever you are? This could help us futher down the road and anyone who has any speculation as to why, please help us understand.

Also Sharkfin, I don't think you should be looking at those who go into Heaven as Townies just because they go there. I doubt its that easy, especially when we have no clue what going to those places mean.

I understand that point, but when reading the initial description of the game, as posted below, I am leaning at the moment to having people in Heaven be clear, though not set in stone.

I read my role PM and it says that I am a member of the town (not heaven or hell, or whatever other faction is in play). I do not know if they have a special ability, or whatever, but nothing they posted made any obvious notions that they said something that made them in heaven, unlike those in hell. I'll say at the moment that DFB and Zanzier are clean town, until something otherwise contradicts or counters my ideas. It's easy enough to go to hell, but I dont know if it's that easy to go to heaven.

I apologize for the lack of posting the past few days (IRL issues + a lack of a laptop for abotu 2 weeks >_<) Anyways, I think it's about time I answer some questions.

Agreed with DGB about Sharkfinn. Also, her statement needs some elaboration. If NS isn't really scummy to a player, what's the reason that he'd be really towny to that player?

I believe this is referring to when I said that overly defendent/angered based players are on the polar end of the town/scum spectrum. Those who are strongly rooted and overly CAPS LOCKED YELLING, as in the case of NS, are either really scum or really town. At the time I hadnt made a strong read in either direction for NS, but whenever I picked up on a read (even something slightly town/scum) then I can accurately determine NS's alliance. I will say this, I DO NOT like the last minute votes after NS claimed and I plan to look into this.

I dont quite understand the part in the quotes, but I admit that the post was not the most townish way to put things. I honestly had not made any strong reads and was prone to looking at other reasoning.

I didnt like the attitude or the lack of active scumhunting up to that point. It was more suspicious to me becuase I don't remeber him claiming V/LA or being prodded like the other's were. Scum usually active lurks. Town usually are prodded back into playing.

Another point of attention is your passivity. Just look at your own posts. NS was either very scummy or very townie to you. Eventually, you vote NS, because you think DGB is town. And Ani is telling the truth about his claim or is town according to you. You did state with Ani that you'd consider lynching, but you never got to that part. The only other opinions stated are on Toogy and Chrono. However, both are based upon unjustified reasons (With 1 or 2 exceptions based upon Toogy) The thing is that Toogy was only discussed by you as he was one of the 2 top suspects.

I am a very passive person. I'll admit that. I haven't made any strong solid reads (except I honestly think Ani is town) I hate claiming to be inexperienced, but I am and that's a part of it. I've had little time to really read into each post as I desired, but I'm doing the best I can.

And now to a serious point: Passiveness.
By heart, I remember Mae, TL and Adrien. To those who wonder what I mean with this, I ask a rhetorical question: When you want to ask a question about a specific event, who would you ask about it? The players connected to it or in general?
My answer would be the players connected to it as those are most likely to know the answer, while other players would need to guess.
So Mae and TL (EDIT: Sharkfinn), why did you ask about Heaven in general?

Note this is my second MS game and most of my expierience with mafia comes from IRC. I've learned it's easier to clear town players than it is to find scum. Asking about heaven could possibly reveal something about "clearing" players, though idk if it's action/role based (which is why I asked and hoped someone found a post that helps understand more about this mechanic of the game). Asking people generally allowed me more to hopefully find something in the rules or somewhere someone slipped out something that would explain that part of the rules to me.

Question for you Zaz: Why is passiveness a sure sign of scum?

As mentioned previously, the next time I post, I will have hopefully looked into the last moments of TLs life and determined a scum read from it.

The reason why I felt that NS' last moments before the hammer was important was because the claim that she gave seemed legitament from my perspective, based on my own role info. I do not like Ghostwriter's/BM's hammers (regardless of which one was the real one), though after a read on each players posts, fails to find anything paticularly scummy about each player. >_>. I like Ghostwriter as town though from it.

I have now caught up.

I disagree with all the popular wagons/FoS's. NS, Tog, DGB, Ani (especially Ani), TL, all of them. Do I think the people on them are/aren't scummy? Who knows. But I think they are the wrong places to look for today's lynch. Because I, as I always do, expect there to be at least two anti-town forces in the game. It's how every large game I've been in has gone, and I do not expect that to have changed at all. And, in this game, with this mod, I'm expecting two mafia groups and probably a 3rd party killing role. And I feel that the major lynches are being either controlled or backed by these people, and most are full of bs "logic" and "scumtells" that either don't exist or aren't explained or are over-exaggerated and I don't feel like dealing with that. So I don't want to look at them for the day yet. I'd rather focus on more under-the-radar folks. Like Chronopie. Who has a lot of posts that either deal with nothing, pretend to deal with something but deal with nothing, or deal with things that are obvious and do not matter and thusly deal with nothing. On top of that, Chronopie shows up to "defend" themselves, ask what do they need to answer/explain for everyone, and then proceed to not do it. VOTE: Chronopie. You can die now.

My suspicion would be that whoever diverted us from CSL to MS would likely be the most suspicious today.

Next we have her stating that she’s a passive person in general. So I have a request for you. Describe the similarities and the differences in your play in KoL Mafia and this game.

KoL I subbed in, was a VT, replaced in a claimed player (Chronopie to be more percise), so I just played without worrying too much I think...This game was the first I started from the beginning. Had no abilities to start and have yet to gain any. Really have not done well reading players yet in both games. Flip-flopping, with the occasional tunnel with 50/50 chance of actually being right (right with diddin in KoL, wrong with MS)

As for your question in that post, passiveness isn’t a sure sign of scum. However, my believe is that most players are more cautious when playing as scum, because they are afraid of getting lynched. On the other hand you have town who hate to be lynched, which causes a differences in behaviour. Hating is a different emotion than fearing.

Agree with this post, now that I'm beginning to understand mafia better.

What’s also interesting are the promises of re-reading. But for a different reason than Rena pointed out. Shark names specific players at some of these posts. And when looking at the list she posted, she did all of them, except one. This player happens to be the scum player that has already flipped, AGM. This to me screams scum interaction.

Already made softclaims this past day. Basically, im a VT. Havent been able to gain any powers which makes me sad :/. Says my active abilities are anything I gain from the tech-tree, but i havent gained anything at all. I even tried the other day by grabbing over the required items, but that got me into hell. Nothing changed there. Im a Microwave (Human). I'll admit I haven't done anything of value, but I've yet to even get a good read on anyone. If I have a read, then something changes it and idk this game is messing with my bearings X_X.

You want to know who should be looked at in the event town is lynched THE PEOPLE NOT PARTICIPATING AND JUST VOTING. If rena and I are the only one presenting cases and opinions on what's happening that's not our fault, its the fault of everyone else NOT presenting cases and opinions on whats happening. The town can't succeed if half of it is sitting on its collective thumb staring straight at the sun and eating grass. You want to blame someone if the town lynches wrong? Blame yourself. Blame Vezo. Blame DGB. Blame the lurkers and the people not adding anything useful to the game.
