i think a mass claim could help a lot. I think there are a number of ways that i could fuck up scum, I think in the last one it was something i feared happening, but luckily we managed to divert the town away long enough to win that game.

I agree with most of this post, except that I kind of see why soras is being wagoned. I just don't agree with it, he seems like town to me, 'specially since he's partly being wagoned for something I also did.

And that is not participating in the signup thread. Why didn't I? Well, a thing or two:

It's annoying to be expected to participate in a lot of pregame stuff that you'll be judged on later. When I signed up, Spyrex PMed with with my alignment, I sat at the computer for a minute thinking about draft numbers, then responded with a PM. I never changed them, or gave them much thought. Because they don't need it, in my opinion.

If we could get everyone to participate in pregame conversation like that, it would be useful. But it's not gonna happen, simply for reasons like my own: I signed up for a game, and I plan to play it. But I don't plan to play a game

before

it starts.

pom feels to be over justifying herself here. i'm not sure all this was neccessary. i think this post may be more likely to come from scum.

Regarding this, I personally don't have a problem with it, but I think it would be smart to think over the possible repercussions for town in both. I'd also like some feedback from those in past PYPR games.

What path did they follow?
Did it turn out better or worse for town/scum?
Who ended up winning?
If they had followed a different path via massclaim, would there have been a different result?

PYP 1: we tore the scum apart. set-up was different (2 scum groups) but still yeah.
PYP 2: we wiped da town out pretty badly through a combo of playing better and using clever draft techniques. a mass claim might have helped town, but the empowerer fucked the town over. haha i was the empowerer ;D go me. super cool guy.

I'm OK with a massclaim. We seem to have outted a number of vanillas for no reason so far anyway.

If you have some reason to think someone's town, give it. Not doing so only serves to attempt to confuse the town, and (if anything) make both the person saying it, and the person being called it, look scummy as far as I'm concerned.

I know you are not me. But I know how scum play. Most scum I've seen tend to be passive in their approach so that they're less likely to get called out for being on ML wagons - they try to make their vote as justified as possible.

If Dramonic is scum-vig, he will happily shoot townies without any second thoughts. However if we guide him to shoot a scumbuddy and he doesn't do such, we catch 2 scum! Especially if this shot comes after a guided kill to a townie.
