I am the greatest Mafia player ever to have lived. /convoRayFrost wrote:Saying Crypto makes more sense than me is like saying a padawan can kill a hoard of rushing zerg.
I'm toying with the idea that he's scum trying to play the serious pro-town BAMF. Mufasa wasn't going to get lynched. That would be silly.Reasoning for finding mbf scummy?
I don't like the vibes posts 7, 9, and 10 are giving off.reasoning for finding me scummy?
I also don't like the reasons posts 10 and 11 provide for voting Snow White. Deliberate avoidance of current discussion. You obviously aren't policy-lynching her, so your vote is blatantly irrelevant, useless, evasive, etc.
And I don't like the "Reasoning...?" spam. It strikes me as a lazy attempt at being pro-town, like mikeburnfire version 0.5.
All that said, it's obviously scant info right now and I'm more interested in players not named RayFrost (mike, and a couple of others).
I am not hiding behind V/LA. I'm on the computer at my grandparents' house. I do not expect to be able to post like this regularly (I do expect to get a few posts in). It's a holiday. Now go die in a gutter.reasoning for hiding behind v/la when you are obv here?-

SpyreX, if you really want a wall-of-text, be my guest.
The remotely careful observer will notice the high frequency of "Why?" in this post. AGOTI is trying to get away with a load of unreasonable, nonsensical play, like a shallow and generally useless version of roflcopter. Cheering on wagons, pumping out meaningless one-line proclamations, wielding hypocrisy like a flamethrower with a mini fold-up rocket launcher dangling from the handle, etc. Basically – a nauseatingly exotic active lurking job. It's not quite damning for me, but it's certainly scummy as all hell.
That aside, her language really rubs me wrong. (And no, it isn't that it's childish. It's that her posting style looks ferociously contrived.)-

Because my two other games have been in someone's-gonna-die mode, because I had limited access during Thanksgiving vaca, because most of my suspicion was (and still is) a gut read, because I hadn't noticed some of the things that I noticed when you prompted me to reread and make a case, because I've become a fan of voting/pressuring before revealing most or all of my underlying reasons (though there weren't initially many concrete reasons in this case), and because I'm a little lazy.-

I don't know, Pom. I think the ickiness of AGOTI's language transcends the inherent weirdness of adopting an alt style. I understand that AGOTI is contriving a style, but you should be able to do so without beingthisscummy about it. It's hard to describe, but there's a difference betweencontrived alt styleandcontrived alt style that's scummy. Maybe it's just me.-

To be honest, I lost more and more interest in my AGOTI case as I compiled it. It makes some valuable points, but overall I'm rather indifferent toward most of my own case. (I was sort of loath to admit this because I wanted to see how AGOTI replied and because, frankly, I was ticked off about it.) My gut feeling is still there about AGOTI, though – not the "I just know something's wrong about this person" feeling, but the "I don't like how this person's playing overall, even if I can't entirely put my finger on it" feeling.SpyreX wrote:Now, I'm gonna be THAT GUY again and say I'm not seein the AGOTI business either.
Oh, and I stumbled across this while rereading: I don't know if I said it before (I know others did) but AGOTI did a really bad OMGUS of Poro. It's incredibly lame to the point where I don't even know why scum – especially experienced scum, assuming AGOTI is an alt of a vet player – would try it.
Preview edit: And I see mikeburnfire agrees that my case for AGOTI sucked. Pretty fair criticism.
I don't know if you're asking me, but … these are good questions, so whatever.SpyreX wrote:So, before we start holding hands, thoughts on:
1.) Poro coming in and stating something about the modcount without saying anything with the last few pages?
2.) Pom's last post.
3.) MBFBold is mine.Heh, that makes me giggle. I was originally going to stick my answers into the quote, but I've decided my response to (1) is too significant to risk hiding from skim readers like that.
Poro's play style seems to give him a free pass here. As far as I can tell, it's standard for him not to comment on a whole page, but then pop in and make a post that reads like he wasn't thinking we'd be surprised by its abruptness. Dunno. It's also understandable because he'd just hopped on the AGOTI wagon, which means he was confined to a waiting game until AGOTI's response, which in turn means he might not have cared to comment on anything else. TLDR: null tell. That said, IGMEOPoro for some time now. I1.couldbe seeing shadows here, but his posts look way too self-conscious for my liking. (Examples: hyper-focusing on why he votes for AGOTI instead of Rayexplanation for delayed AGOTI.) I also don't like how Poro put Ray at L–1 (not good enough? – big deal, it's like five pages into the game). And still not at all a fan of his roflcopter suspicion/non-suspicion business.
I don't take issue with it. I found her treatment of me, and then her treatment of me with you in mind, legitimate.2.
Still toying with the notion that he was scum playing Supertown with his "Guys we're wagoning Ray way too fast!" deal, but it's reverse-reverse psychology so I'm not ready to make a call there. Otherwise, I'm ambivalent.3.
Fair point, I guess, but for the most part I've either provided or implied some degree of reasoning. I was straightforward with my Snow_Bunny vote. You seem to be intentionally obscure, bordering on cloak-and-dagger, whereas I'm just leaving out reasons until someone finally asks for them.AGOTI wrote:crypto, what exactly changed between your mbf vote and your unvote?

Wow … again, you can do a meta of me and you'll see both of my other games JUST went into night, and the third JUST ended with a mislynch. As for obnoxious, mood is not a scum tell. I tend not to go into auto-asshole mode at the beginning of a game unless I've already been ticked off in another game. I tend to start out neutral, and then get pissier and pissier as the game goes on. By the way, what excuses have I made other than that one?elvis_knits wrote:My feeling is that crypto is scum (he sounds so much less obnoxious than usual, his responses are filled with excuses, and his reasons are not very compelling).
And yes, I concede again that I'm not even a fan of my AGOTI case, but she's still scummy as hell, and I do think some of my points had/have merit.

Like I said, that's one excuse. One excuse is not even fucking close to "his responses are filled with excuses." Between Thanksgiving, a Statistics project, applying to colleges, and, hell, eight hours per day of school itself, I'm not going to be pumping out content at my usual rate. That point is bullshit.
Your comparison of my scum hunting this game with my scum hunting in another game is fundamentally invalid. In that game I started reading and posting after ten pages of content had been generated. I had plenty to go off and as a result I was instantly able to crank out walls-of-text that laid out my suspicions. That's impossible to do in this game because I've observed and participated from the outset. There's no catchup involved. My content, just like any other player's, will be much more spread out in this situation; there won't be an immediate explosion of information.
All that aside, attacking me because I'm not being aggressive is also bullshit. I'm not going to fly off the handle in every post in every game. So far I have called out AGOTI, Snow_Bunny, mikeburnfire, Porochaz, and RayFrost. Back the hell off or start supporting your accusations with so much as aninklingof truth.

Hey, I managed to double-post half my wall-of-text without making two separate posts.
What do you mean?SpyreX wrote:Crypto what in the hell did you DO in your post? Thats truly amazing.
If you're accusing me of too much fluff, I'm going to flame you, because I said I would post some stuff once I got home (and I am now home, and this post is me twiddling my thumbs before I reread the thread).-

(Bangs head on keyboard.) No. It's not about what I think of Ray before/after his claim. It's about the motives behind Snow_Bunny's continued obsession with Ray's lynch. Your logical leap from "Certain Point X has weight behind it" to "Certain Point X has weight behind it, therefore I believe Lead-Up Case to Certain Point X" loses all merit is unreal.Green Crayons wrote:crypto: It's in the question itself. It's the loaded grounding upon which the question is being asked. The fact that you wanted to know why Bunny still wanted to Ray lynch beyond Certain Point X means Certain Point X has some serious weight behind it. In terms of the question as you framed it, Certain Point X was Ray's vanilla claim.
The question gave Ray's vanilla claim undue weight as a serious cause as not to continue to pursue a Ray lynch.-

Gosh, I don't know, maybe I was suggesting that Snow_Bunny point out the part where I said I believed RayFrost's fake claim.GC wrote:I'm curious to what specifically you're referencing that one should glean from a reread of the thread.
Nope. Reread. That's not what I said. It being good does not make itGC wrote:you actually outright admitted that the Ray voting was a better path to followbetter. Hopefully there is more than one mafioso in this game. I am not obliged to vote for every player I find scummy (if I did, the mod's head might explode).
Your attacks are getting crummier by the minute. Keep them coming. Actually, no, don't keep them coming; I'm getting tired of them.-

What does that have to do with whether or not you liked the wagon? Stop dodging the question.Snow_Bunny wrote:I never voted for Ray, as by the time I'd vote I would either put him at L-2 (I think) at page 5 or so, or L-1/hammer.
Your simultaneous attachment to the AGOTI wagon and obsession with loss of pressure on RayFrost are scummy and contradictory. You didn't say that the Ray wagon was good but that AGOTI should be lynched instead. You just complained about the decline of the Ray wagon. There's a distinct difference between the two.
I know, that's why it's such an easy question. I want you to tell me why Ray is scummy and why you like his wagon. I don't know if you've updated your opinions. Opinions usually get updated in Mafia.Snow_Bunny wrote:If you actually read the thread, you would know why I like Ray's wagon and wouldn't need to ask.
Not at all. I think I worded my question as plainly as possible. Stop piggybacking on Green Crayons (thanks for spoon-feeding her an escape route, GC!) and take it for what it is. There's no indication of whether or not I believe his claim. Some players' stances tend to change after a claim of any sort. Other players' stances don't. I wanted to know why you chose one over the other.Snow_Bunny wrote:The way the question is asked, it seems as if you believe his claim.
Hooray for answering my question.Snow_Bunny wrote:Simple, I don't believe his claim. His playstyle before the claim was scummy at best, and, as GC said, scum has been known to claim everything. A claim won't fix that.
It wouldn't have been any better than my question. There was no reason not to be perfectly clear about the conditions involved.Green Crayons wrote:"Why do you still want to lynch Ray?"
You were asked a question. Cross that excuse out.Snow_Bunny wrote:Sometimes I don't find anything good to add;
It was a very simple question. I doubt you couldn't muster the motivation for a two- or three-line answer.other times I just don't have the time or motivation to reply;
You made a post in another game.other times I'm just reading in my spare time.
Why is AGOTI a better lynch than RayFrost?
I agree with elvis about mikeburnfire. His VT comment was obvious role fishing. Why would he think to question that claim?-

RayFrost joking about his claim was a silly premise. You had no reason not to believe him.mikeburnfire wrote:What the fuck are you talking about?
