Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on that POV and what you said, but all it would take is a simple scan down the list and you could eliminate a good protion of the players. I rather let scum have to progress through the game and work hard themselves to figure it out, or happen to lynch him or NK him by chance. I would hate to see ideas that would seem good to invest in get easily manipulated by scum.

With so many players in the game, and many of them probably going to go through the same motions [multiple lurkers, multiple scummies], how are you going to single out the one that you think is scum?

I still dislike DisCode, but I've played many games with Zwet, and I do seem to recall him flipping scum after being lynched due to a bandwagon caused by lurking. I'd have to check that, though, which (due to the fact that he's in every bloody game), I'd rather not do.

Regarding Cobalt, I think A, but in addition he's both less scummy than lurkerzwet AND more fun to play with. With which to play. To be frank, I've never actually seen scum try to modkill someone by pointing out an infraction in-thread, if I recall correctly. If someone has an example of scum doing so, I'd like to see it.

@Plum: Do you seriously expect each person on a BW to have a unique reason as to why they are on it? I am on the BW for the sake of having a BW. Personally I find it very hard to be able to look at all 20+ players and evaluate each and every single one in order to determine a scummiest player. I'm willing to just rely on the words of others until I personally see something of interest. Therefore, I'm willing to BW on zwets, as apparently others (and myself) have no other leads to go on.

@All - If Discode comes back (from prod or whatever) but neglects answering questions thrown his way, what then? I personally was willing to believe the miller claim and don't think scum would just blatantly own up to such a questionable cutscene (darkness, etc.), but comparing his activity spark to now is odd. In a nutshell, I'd move my suspicion over to him. It's not enough for me to suggest taking care of him today (ie lynch him) because, on one hand, I could understand if he has time issues. But lately it seems like once someone has claimed, people will unvote just based on the fact that there was a claim, no matter WHAT it is. To be honest, it's actually best to not discuss it and deal with it when the time comes, if it comes. There is no point making all of these scenario playsheets for scenarios that may never happen, especially when they are never set in stone. You're just as bad as Gorrad in that sense. You both are trying to pre-organize things and control the flow of the game. Pre-planning only gives scum a heads up of what to do come the given situation. For that reason, I refuse to pre-plan the scenario out, otherwise I'd be a hypocrite for attacking Gorrad for trying to pre-emptive lynch, rather than wait until zwets reaches L-1 and people start to unvote, and then attack those in question. Gorrad trying to paint those who unvote as suspicious or scummy is bad too, because its forcing the town to stick with a possible mislynch, and they will get accused regardless of zwet's flip by Gorrad. You getting a group view on what to do for a scenario that may never play out is pointless, and becomes your own personal scapegoat should you be scum and you use it to lynch Dis, cause then you could fall back on the excuse "well it was a group decision, I'm not to blame."

I would really like that replacement to come soon, having a quiet miller doesn't help as at all. Miller is a bit hard to swallow when you think about why someone would choose to alter their game role. Considering he truly was something else, why would you deliberately become a miller? Of course, there may be a secret part to the deal that he doesn't want to tell us, but it would still have to be pretty important to choose to become a miller, as i cannot see a scum having the ability to turn town. Why I believe Iec's claim

1. There is no motivation as scum to waste a daykill when the lynch was going to happen anyways.

2. As town, it makes a lot of sense to avoid a night in which another innocent life is lost.

3. Scum would not start off the game so open. they would most likely save their daykill for cases that had actual merit to them, or after a lot of posting from the person in question that resulted in them looking super scummy. Scum daykilling zwets hoping he's part of another scumteam is about just as good as picking a name at random and daykilling them. Scum will do what they can not to draw attention to themselves, and Iec did the opposite.

DGB's behavior is very standard for her as far as I can tell. A town player and scum player both asked her a question, but she interpreted the questions differently due to the inferred context. She'll amend her list when there's evidence it needs amending.

Plus when I do get lynched or die and then become a confirmed townie people can at least take what I say as a confirmed townie. I have seen a lot of people use this reasoning, I have never quite understood it as I have seen it both ways.

I just wanted to go on a mini rant, not really related to the game. I really hate it when people talk about this, like when they go to someone and say "oh, but you're not fulfilling your win condition". Whoop-de-fucking-do. Sure, the goal is to try to win the game, but so is having fun. Sometimes the two need a balance, but when people try to preach about how you need to always play to your win condition, I think it's stupid. Your playstyle could always be trying to win in the long run if you're playing anti-town or not posting a lot or something. There are always secret motives. I feel DoS is a victim here after rereading over the posts. I feel the constant barraging of Chris on him was bound to make a BW on him sooner or later, simply because in a large game players are happy to grab any target they can instead of mucking through every player for clues. I think His meh attitude against Chris is genuine, and the fact that he isn't being over defensive says something to me. The posts by Chris of the town DoS defense is interesting, but I don't put too much stock into that. It would be interesting to see if anything actually results from that though.

That really depends. There are certain situations where a self sacrifice is very beneficial to the town's interests.

The prisoner's dilemma in a four player lylo for example. It would be in the town's best interests for one of the two townies to get themselves lynched to improve the odds of a scum crosskill for the town win.

I'm going to argue that a bit more. Reckoner's been scummy to DGB since she entered to game, but suddenly one post negates all that? Now, DGB has the scumdar of a ferret on Ritalin (focused but changing focus rapidly), so for her? I can understand the abrupt change. But Saber and Wolf, WTF? Are you just following DGB blindly?

DoS has done nothing to improve my opinion of him.

I'm gonna have to say no. I actually don't like DGB at all. It's nothing personal, I just don't like the amount of celebrityness she possesses for some reason, and the fact that she calls all the shots and others just follow is annoying. I don't mind following Iec, the other leader of this game, but that's because he's cleared in my eyes. DGB has done nothing town enough to make her pro-town, but people seem to just love her and unquestionably follow. The main reason I'm not on the DoS wagon is because her and Chris both rub me that way to the point where I want to be the guy who stands there and laugh at their confidence level if their guaranteed scumbag flips town. I also happen to be neutral/leaning town on DoS, but his lynch would be slightly informative.

As for Reckoner, it's just the way he posted his content. I've done posts just like that myself as townie, and I never once posted ITT beforehand that I thought he was scum, so there has been no abrupt change on my behalf. It doesn't matter though that DGB thought the same thing, I'm not going to oppose everything she says or does just because of personal dislikes, I'm just gonna do my best to keep that in check.
