inspired by plotinus' and schadd_'s rulesets.

0. the tl;dr:

days: 14 days while 14+ players alive, 10 after; twilights: 1 day; nights: 2 days.
majority executes, with plurality taking effect at deadline.
48 hours before prod, 24 hours before replacement.
if you want to replace out, pm me.
flavour has no bearing on player alignments.
don't be a dick.

1. the basics:

follow all site rules.
my mod colour is
teal
. you can use it if you want, just don't attempt to impersonate me.
you may not talk to each other about this game outside of threads i have created for this purpose. you may not talk about other ongoing games in this thread.
if you wish to replace out, pm me, do not request replacement in thread.
do not discuss your reasons for replacing out publically. do not threaten to replace out or tell other players to replace out. if you have any concerns that a player should be replaced, pm me.
do not quote pm's from the mod at all, either real or fabricated. do not quote posts from private threads. this includes specific timestamps. paraphrasing is acceptable.
don’t be a dick.
this is a heated game but toxicity will not be tolerated. attack the play not the player. if your fellow players tell you to stop, you must stop. if you do not stop, i will tell you to stop. if you still do not stop, you will be force-replaced.
flavour is just flavour, and has no bearing on player alignments.
don't use it to make arguments.
play to win. seriously claiming scum with another player is against the rules. i will judge what counts as serious - don't toe the line.

2. days and voting:

days last up to 14 real-life days while there's 14+ players alive. days afterwards last up to 10 real-life days.
extensions may or may not be granted if there are replacements, or if the circumstances call for it (for example, if the site was experiencing issues).
votes must be in bold in the format VOTE: datisi or
vote: datisi
. Strong preference for using vote tags instead of bold tags. unvotes are nice but not required. type [
v]datisi[
/v] to vote and [
uv]datisi[
/uv] to unvote.
you can use nicknames when voting, as long as it is clear who you're referring to.
if i think it’s a vote, it’s a vote.
days end early when a simple majority of players (50% of living players + 1 rounded down) vote to execute somebody.
if a majority is not reached at deadline, plurality will take effect, and the player with the most votes currently will get executed. ties are broken by seniority. if that method of tie-breaking is not applicable, the mafia will choose the day's execution.
twilight begins when a majority is reached and lasts until i lock the thread. you're still alive until i flip you so you can talk in any game threads you have access to until then, but no votes or unvotes will be counted.
it takes (100% of living players + 1) votes to execute the moderator.

3. activity and v/la:

you must post at least once every 48 hours or i will prod you. you then have 24 hours to post in the game thread or i will replace you. if you come back before i find a replacement, you can stay.
if i have to prod you for the fourth time, i will automatically start searching for a replacement.
if you haven't posted in the 24 hours before the thread is locked for night, you must reply to the night start pm or you will be replaced during the night.
players can request me to prod somebody early. this will only count as an official prod if you don't post before you would have been due for a prod.
if you need to be absent for longer than 48 hours, you should declare

in bold in the thread like this: [

@mod: I will be v/la until thursday

/b]. while you are v/la, you will be nudged once every 60 hours. two nudges equals one prod. if you have not posted game advancing content in 5 days, regardless of v/la status, you will be replaced.
a naked "prod dodge" does not reset the prod timer. to avoid being prodded/replaced for inactivity, include some game advancing content in your prodges, such as "got prodded; datisi is still scum."

4. twilights, nights, and night actions:

twilights last 24 hours. nights last 48 hours.
the night phase can be shortened if every living player -- even those with no night actions -- agrees to it and if I'm not busy.
you may submit actions via pm. if you have a scum pt, a mason pt, or a notes pt, you may also submit your actions there. if the actions are not submitted by the deadline then you do nothing. you can change your mind as many times as you like before the deadline.
if i don't hear from you about your night actions, i'll pm you 24 hours before the deadline. this doesn't count as a prod. if i still don't hear from you, you will take no action.

5. miscellaneous:

let me know if you want a private thread to store your thoughts and feedback for the other players. you may draft posts in your notes pt if the posts are clearly meant to be posted in the main thread. you may talk about your notes pt. you may not directly quote from your notes pt, and you may not use it to demonstrate that you've had a town mindset in private all along; just put your town mindset in public to begin with and keep your notes to yourself.
provable randomness is against the rules. saying that you rolled a dice is fine, using dice tags or random.org screenshots is not.
no hard to read / extremely small text. cryptography is forbidden. breadcrumbing is okay.
using scripts to alter or hide another player's posts is not allowed.
the only allowed media is embedded content, or links to uneditable content. for example, you are not allowed to link vocaroos and pastebins in the thread.
very big images and big chunks of non-game-related text are allowed, as long as they are spoiled. if you post them without a spoiler, i will edit a spoiler in.
excessive spamming is not allowed.
the mod may make mistakes. minor errors (such as a mistake in the vote count) can be pointed out in-thread. for bigger errors, please pm me.
i reserve the right to alter/remove/add any rules as i see fit. you will be notified if this happens.

On the Subject of The Setup:

What's this, a Datisi mafia game? I'm sure it's going to be a blast!

1. the basics:

15 DATS Inc. employees (the town)
vs
4 GB Inc. infiltrators (the mafia)
.
closed setup.
all private topics will be open at all times, with the exception of bomb defusal private topics, which will be locked at the end of the night.
DATS Inc. employees win when all GB Inc. infiltrators are dead and at least one DATS Inc. employee is alive, OR when DATS Inc. employees act as successful bomb defusers

GB Inc. infiltrators win when all DATS Inc. employees are dead and at least one GB Inc. infiltrator is alive, OR when GB Inc. infiltrators act as successful bomb defusers

times.
GB Inc. infiltrators do not have a factional nightkill every night.
they start off with one nightkill. for every two successful bomb defusals performed by a DATS Inc. employee, they gain one nightkill. for every successful bomb defusal performed by a GB Inc. infiltrator, they gain one nightkill.
executions are compulsory. if no majority has been reached by deadline, the person with the most votes will be executed, with ties broken by seniority.

2. bomb defusals - selecting the participants:

there will be 2 bomb defusals on night 1, and 1 bomb defusal each following night.
each bomb defusal will consist of one
bomb defuser
(selected by the mafia), and 4-2
bomb experts
(selected by the town).
during the day, other than the usual voting to execute, the players may use
heal tags
to nominate someone to be a bomb expert that night.
a single player can simultaneously nominate as many players as they wish, but they cannot nominate themselves. hurt tags to un-nominate.
once the execution vote has been hammered and the day is over, twilight starts. the needed number of players who at that moment have the most nominations will be the night's bomb experts.
during twilight, the mafia must select who will act as the bomb defuser(s) for the night. they cannot choose people who are to be the bomb experts.
during the night, they may not attempt to nightkill the bomb defuser.

3. bomb defusals - defusing the bomb:

once night starts, the bomb defuser will receive their bomb, and each bomb expert will receive a part of that bomb's defusal manual.
the bomb defuser and all bomb experts will be added into a private topic for the night.
the defuser's job is to describe the bomb, and the experts' job is to tell the defuser how to defuse the bomb, based on their description and the manual they have received.
an example of this can be found below.
besides that, the defuser and the experts are free to discuss the game as they wish.
if all the bomb experts give the correct information about the bomb, the defuser will successfully defuse the bomb, and will survive the night.
if any of the bomb experts give incorrect information, the bomb will explode, and the defuser will die.
please note: there is potential for needed mod influence.
if a bomb expert does not understand their manual, they are free to (
PRIVATELY
) ask me for help, and i will clarify it for them. i believe it would be against the spirit of the game to have them submit incorrect information if they didn't intend to do so.
there are no other bastard elements in this game.

4. miscellaneous:

on night one, each bomb will have 4 experts. from night 2 and onwards, each bomb will have 3 experts, until there is 7 or fewer players alive. at that point, each bomb will have 2 experts.
during the first 4 days, once someone has acted as a bomb expert, they are unable to be a bomb expert the next two nights, meaning they cannot be nominated. from day 5 and onwards, once someone has acted as a bomb expert, they cannot be a bomb expert the next night. this restriction is lifted once there are 5 or fewer players alive.
bomb experts are not allowed to provide information for the bomb before the defuser asks, and they're only allowed to provide the information for the part that the defuser asked for. this rule is in effect to prevent cases where the defuser demands the expert to give all of the info from their part of the manual beforehand. please play within the spirit of this rule.

flavourit started off like any other monday morning at Demolition, Annihilation, and Termination Services Inc. clock into work, get a cup of coffee, go to your desk and start pretending to be doing your job. though this time, just as you were turning on your computer, your phone went off. it was a text from your boss.

emergency meeting. all personnel to see me in the alpha meeting room ASAP.

you rolled your eyes. Datisi probably wanted to show you his most recent "art" piece, or talk about that weird social deduction forum game he often played. in either case, it meant your coffee would get cold by the time you came back.

as you entered the meeting room, you felt a chill down your spine. instead of cheerily annoying the employees with his chatter, Datisi was quietly staring out the window. something was wrong. you took a seat among the other 18 employees.

Datisi turned around, a tired look on his face. "thank you all for coming on such a short notice." he sighed. "earlier today, i got a discord dm. from GeorgeBailey."

worried whispering filled the room. GeorgeBailey? the CEO of your rival company, Giant Bombs Inc.? why was he messaging Datisi?

once the noise had died down, Datisi pulled out his phone and started reading from it. "

you still haven't realized, have you? out of your 19 most trusted employees, 4 are actually working for me. soon, they will have enough info for us to outpace your company. or, they will simply burn it into the ground once there's nobody left to run it.

you all started looking at each other. you had moles among you? thinking back, you did notice a few weird things happening recently, such as important files mysteriously disappearing, but you didn't think much of it; it's not like this company was ever very organized.

it is not a mistake. the word "town" in that sentence refers to the collective of players, and every single player's nomination vote will be counted, regardless of their alignment.

if there are ties amongst the players nominated, they are broken by seniority; i.e. the players that got to that number of nominations first will be the experts. if, for any reason, that method of tie-breaking is not applicable, the mafia will be able to privately choose the bomb experts.

the workday was nearing an end, and the decision has been made: fireisredsir is a rat.

"very well, then. fireisredsir, come with me to my office, please."

Datisi opened the meeting room's door. standing next to it, he looked at fireisredsir and waited for them to make their way to the room's exit.

as fireisredsir was leaving with Datisi, they were awkwardly looking back at their colleagues, a worried look on their face. nobody dared to meet their eyes.

after the door closed behind the two of them, a heavy feeling of anxiety filled the room. the rest of the employees kept worriedly looking at each other. some were quiet, simply staring into space; others were softly whispering to each other, wondering if they'd made the right choice. after all, they've been colleagues for years, and this was a good job. none of them wanted to get an innocent person fired.

the silence in the meeting room was broken by a sound of a gunshot, coming from Datisi's office.

a few moments later, Datisi re-entered the meeting room. his face was pale, and his jacket had a few droplets of blood on it. his employees were staring at him, frightened look on their faces, but Datisi didn't quite understand why. they agreed fireisredsir is an enemy, didn't they?

right as Datisi was about to say something, his phone went off. being the phone addict that he is, he instinctively grabbed at it to check what it was, only to realize it was a message from GeorgeBailey.

"

Datisi, i am impressed. it has been less than a full day, and you're already killing your own men.

"

he sighed, hand shaking as he put the phone back into his pocket. he turned back to his workforce, most of whom still had a shocked look on their face, and tried to not have his voice tremble.

"those of you who have to work overtime, get to it. the rest of you... go home and try to get some sleep."

this was going to be a long week.

you figured Datisi was going to want to call another meeting this morning, so you didn't bother getting coffee prior to it; you didn't want to have to drink a lukewarm cup of coffee again today.

as you approached the meeting room's entrance, you could hear commotion inside. that probably wasn't a good sign.

the majority of your colleagues were in the meeting room already. most of those who were working overtime last night were in a heated discussion with Datisi, though you weren't able to make out what exactly they were saying. most of the others were simply staring into space, wondering why did they even come to work today.

"okay, everyone, please sit down!"

you looked around the room, the meeting was starting already? Datisi never started them before everyone was present, and you could swear the room felt more empty than it was the prior evening...

after waiting a moment for everyone to get to their seats and for the noise to die down, Datisi continued.

"i figured i should say this here for those of you who don't know, but, last night, while working overtime... there was an accident. and, well... catboi is dead."

gasps were heard from those who didn't know, their faces showing a mixture of shock and disbelief. some started anxiously whispering to each other. a few employees glanced at VP Baltar, knowing that he had also been working overtime last night; he was pale and he looked frightened, but he was still alive.

Datisi cleared his throat, in an attempt to get his employees' attention back.

"i don't know if this is GeorgeBailey's doing, but working overtime clearly isn't safe anymore. because of that, i have decided to cut the extra workload in half from this point on."

complaints started breaking out within the employees. Datisi ignored it and got up from his seat, signaling that the meeting was over.

"hey!" someone from the workforce yelled out, "won't you be having us

Datisi tried his best not to burst into laughter.

flavourDatisi was in his office, trying to get some work done, but it just wasn't happening. he had barely slept the night before, which by itself made writing quality forum shitposts impossible. to top it all off, all the screaming from the alpha meeting room was giving him a headache.

after hearing what sounded like a window breaking, he decided to check up on his employees. he really didn't want to have to deduct a lot of property damages from their paychecks.

entering the meeting room, Datisi felt like he had just entered a circus.

Frogsterking was running around the room, knocking chairs over and screaming how he knows who the rats are. the majority of the other employees were trying to chase him down, angrily yelling at him and calling him a traitor to the company.

once he saw that Datisi had entered the room, he ran up to him, and tried to explain who should get executed and why. however, Datisi was a strong believer in the majority vote, so he turned to the rest of his employees and asked how many of them thought Frogsterking was a GeorgeBailey accomplice. most of them had their hand shoot up in the air.

"oh, to hell with this comapny! to hell with you!" Frogsterking yelled out, shoved Datisi out of the way, and bolted out of the meeting room.

once Datisi regained his balance, he ran off after him, while screaming "get back here, goddammit!"

the rest of the employees were dumbfounded, silently looking at the wide-open door and listening to the sounds that followed. two pairs of steps rapidly departing, then some glass breaking, then the sound of desks being knocked over, then lastly a few gunshots.

a few moments later, Datisi was back in the meeting room. he was hunched over, his face was completely red, he was out of breath and wheezing, and he was mumbling something about having to get back in shape. just as he caught his breath enough to say something, his phone went off. another text from GeorgeBailey.

"

GB Inc. will be having a staff party tonight, catered with frog legs.

"

Datisi put his phone back into his pocket, and weakly waved towards the door. "the meeting is over, we will meet up tomorrow morning. go and get some rest, though watch your step when you walk down the stairs," he said, "and i need to go call the cleaning service."

by this point, you knew that was code for "i am curing a hangover," but at least it meant there would be one fewer headache present.

flavourDatisi was sitting in front of his laptop, mindlessly scrolling though social media and wondering why his "artistic" "skills" and "talents" haven't brought him fame and fortune yet.

he got awoken from his daydreams by his phone going off. his first thought was that it was someone finally recognizing his potential, but checking his phone brought him back to reality. it was his employees telling him to get his ass down to the meeting room.

he sighed, taking his glasses off and pinching the bridge of his nose. already? he was not yet mentally prepared to see that bunch again.

the sound of his phone repeatedly going off was annoying enough that it gave him the motivation needed to put his glasses back on, get up from his laptop, and start making his way down to the alpha meeting room.

shortly after entering, it was clear to him who the group decided they wanted to get rid of next. most of them were standing around and yelling at Malakittens, who was in turn yelling back at those around her. upon seeing that Datisi had finally made it to the meeting room, the small crowd around Malakittens stepped back.

"okay, you all know the drill by now. Malakittens, come with me to my office," Datisi said while making his way up to her.

"no."

Datisi stopped dead in his tracks. she can just do that? he cleared his throat, and tried to not look surprised. "i said, come with me to--"

he was interrupted by a sound of a gun cocking.

her words sent the meeting room into dead silence. the employees were awkwardly looking at each other, thinking whether they can tackle her without her shooting anybody. Datisi raised his arms slightly, mostly to gesture to his workforce not to intervene.

"you're not going to shoot me," he said, looking at her the same way he looked at drivers of oncoming cars when crossing the street.

a few tense seconds later, Malakittens pointed the gun at her own head, screamed out "death to DATS Inc.! glory to GeorgeBailey!" and pulled the trigger.

seeing her lifeless body fall to the floor, everyone in the room released a breath they didn't notice they were holding. "how did you know she wasn't going to kill you?" asked one of the employees.

"i know how GeorgeBailey works, and he wants me alive," Datisi murmured as he looked at Malakittens's body. "anyway, i have some big boxes left from the last material shipment. i'm going to go get one," he said, and started walking towards the room's exit.

"we are sending a present to GB Inc. headquarters."

Datisi calling another morning meeting probably wasn't a good sign. you almost wished for the meeting to be about him advertising his instagram page again.

the majority of others were already present, sitting at the table and wishing they were still in their warm bed. Datisi was sipping coffee and typing on his phone, a pissed off expression on his face.

"oh, we can start; come, sit down" he mumbled when he saw you enter and gestured towards one of the empty chairs.

"listen. y'all will not BELIEVE the text i got from GeorgeBailey this morning," Datisi yelled out, his tone and body language now resembling that of a teenage girl who was about to share some hot new gossip.

Datisi finished reading and slammed his phone down onto the table. "can you believe THE NERVE?"

"wait," one of the employees interrupted Datisi, a puzzled look on their face, "two... you mean that two more people are dead!?"

"oh," Datisi paused for a second, a look of disappointment on his face, then added in a deadpan voice, "yeah, Andresvmb and Greeting are dead."

the room fell into silence, which Datisi took as a sign of there being no more questions and the meeting being over.

"well then, i better get going!" he exclaimed, then got up from the table. "i have to attend a seminar and take a test in the next two days, and i've spent this whole weekend procrastinating, so i better go get to work. y'all ping me when you need me."

"what?" the workforce looked at Datisi in utter confusion; it has been years since he was last attending university,

you put your phone back into your pocket and kept hurriedly walking up the stairs. you were almost running late to the meeting; StrangeMatter decided to splat right next to

car yesterday, and cleaning it took you so much time last night that you slept through your alarm. you knew Datisi didn't tolerate being late, and you did not want to get fired.

as you approached the alpha meeting room, you noticed that it was silent. which was unusual, even for the situation you were in now. hell, especially for the situation you were in now, which has given you even more reasons than usual to shit-talk your boss. was everyone else also late or something?

entering the meeting room, you realized the reason for the silence. VP Baltar and Dwlee99 were sitting at opposite ends of the table and angrily staring at each other. nobody dared to say anything, as it felt like one word would be enough to make all hell break loose.

before you could think of what to do, you heard another pair of steps approaching in the hallway.

"hey friends, i wanted to call you in to tell you the good news! there were no-- what is going on?"

as Datisi entered the meeting room, the atmosphere inside made him lose the track of what he was saying. he quickly realized what was going on though, when he noticed the only two people sitting at the table.

"i just wanted to tell you all there were no deaths last night," he continued, but this time in a much more quiet and shaky voice, "i need to go... uh... water my cats..."

he turned on his heel and left the room in a hurry, slamming the door behind him. he was never good at handling awkward situations like this one.

flavourinstead of getting the work he'd been procrastinating on for the past week done, Datisi was sipping coffee and watching the live security camera feed from inside the alpha meeting room. just as he got up to get a bowl of popcorn, his phone went off, one of the employees telling him a decision has been made.

the meeting room felt very similar to how it did this morning, except now VP Baltar and Dwlee99 were pointing fingers and screaming at each other. judging from the way all the other employees were positioned around them, it was clear the majority thought VP Baltar was a rat.

"are you fucking kidding me!?" VP Baltar was hysterical, and if Datisi hadn't been about to kill him, he would've gotten worried about his blood pressure.

"i stayed up THREE DAYS STRAIGHT working overtime! i busted my ass off, no, i RISKED MY LIFE for this company! and THIS is how you repay me!?"

from the way others were looking at him, he could tell nobody was taking him seriously anymore. seeing that Datisi had entered the room, he turned to him.

"Datisi, please. you know how GeorgeBailey is! we could've been set up! i-it's not me!"

however, Datisi was not here to actually think about what was going on. "the majority vote has decided. come on, to my office."

hearing those words, all of the frustration suddenly disappeared from VP Baltar's face, and he started speaking in a much calmer tone. "here's some friendly advice,

," he said while looking at him, "if you are aware that your company has been overrun with moles, you should maybe think about changing the password to those super secret bomb plans of yours."

Datisi's face went pale as the realization started sinking in. he was quickly brought back to reality, however, when he heard a faint click of a gun coming from next to VP Baltar's hip.

within the next second, two gunshots went off in the alpha meeting room. they resulted in VP Baltar lying motionless on the floor, and Datisi kneeling on the ground clutching the left side of his head. the employees rushed to him.

"he missed, i'm fine!" Datisi hissed out through clenched teeth.

"Datisi, your head is bleeding!"

Datisi looked at his left hand, which was covered in blood. "it's fine, i don't use it much anyways," he commented as he got back up onto his feet. "i'm gonna go get patched up, the rest of you--"

"what was he talking about," interrupted one of the employees, "about the secret plans?"

Datisi winced, his head was hurting almost as bad as it did that one time he didn't get his first cup of coffee until past noon. "GeorgeBailey has had his eyes on my bomb plans for a while now. he swears he could put my company out of business if only he got his hands on them," he sighed. "considering how much overtime VP Baltar has done in the past few days... if he had the password, he alone could've sent GeorgeBailey half of them."

the employees went silent. disappointed, Datisi walked out of the meeting room and went to look for the first aid kit he vaguely remembered having somewhere in his office. this certainly wasn't his fault for using the same password everywhere. who can remember multiple passwords?

the atmosphere in the meeting room was much more tolerable than yesterday morning. everybody was hopeful, or they were at least pretending to be. Dwlee99 seemed to really be looking forward to the upcoming work day, judging by the enthusiasm with which they were chatting with the other employees.

"oh, hi Datisi! how's your head?"

Datisi entered the room, and he looked... more tired than usual, somehow. "unfortunately for you all, i'll survive."

"uh, you sure you're feeling okay? you look a little... pale. did you lose a lot blood yesterday?"

"i caught a cold!" Datisi yelled out as he took a tissue out of his pocket and blew his nose. "i haven't been sleeping properly since this whole thing started, and i always catch a cold when i don't slee--"

he was interrupted by a sneeze. "look, this isn't easy on me either, okay? i've lost some of my best employees!"

he threw the tissue in the trash, and took his phone out to read something from it. "Titus never clocked out of working overtime and into the day shift. i'm sure you all know what that means by now."

he paused for a moment to see if there were any questions, then headed towards the exit. "i'm gonna go try to catch a nap."

flavourit seemed like it was going to be another short meeting, as it didn't take too long for the majority to agree on a single person. the only problem now was calling Datisi and getting him to come to the meeting room. you knew he was going to be annoyed about being woken up so soon, and you were awkwardly looking at each other, hoping someone would decide to take one for the team.

"i think Enchant should do it. he was the one to cast the final vote, after all," was heard from somewhere in the group, and most others quickly agreed.

Enchant grumbled as he took his phone out and dialed Datisi's number. after a few long seconds, Datisi's muffled voice was heard from the phone. you couldn't exactly make out what he was saying, but you could hear that he was not happy.

"sorry for waking you up, but we decided who we want dead," Enchant said while rolling his eyes at Datisi's complaints, "we vote Mistyx. so, if you-- hello? hello???"

Enchant lowered his phone, confused. "he hanged up."

"the signal must've cut out, call him again."

thinking how he does not get paid enough for this, he dialed the same phone number again. "it is not ringing. says his phone is out of service."

now getting impatient, the group started urging Enchant to go up to Datisi's office and check on him. before they could talk him into doing that, however, they heard a car engine being turned on in the parking lot, tires screeching, and a car rapidly departing.

Enchant was closest to the windows. "that... is Datisi's car."

he sighed and closed his eyes in annoyance. "you know what, fuck this," he uttered as he took out his pistol and shot Mistyx in the head.

that was one problem solved, the only issue now was that you still had no idea whose side was Mistyx on. someone in the group decided to check her wallet; maybe she had a GB Inc. business card in it, or something like that.

"well, no business cards here," they said while looking through her wallet, "but there is some kind of letter that has the GB Inc. stamp on it!"

they grinned as they dropped her wallet and opened the letter. reading through it, however, the joy on their face turned to confusion, then anger. "Datisi, i swear to FUCKING--"

you didn't bother reading the text in full. Datisi was really starting to get on your nerves; first you're forced to play a bad imitation of a murder game, then you're forced to shoot one of your colleagues, and now you have to come in to work on a sunday?

you walked into the meeting room and plopped onto the first free chair. looking around, most other employees were also annoyed about the fact they were being forced to work today, though there was at least some solace in knowing you've been on a roll two days in a row.

shortly after, the door violently swung open. Datisi seemed to be in a good mood.

"good morning, friends!" he exclaimed with a bit too much enthusiasm. "i have some good news and some bad news!"

all the other heads in the room slowly turned towards him. "the bad news is, Cephrir is dead."

before anyone is given a chance to process that, Datisi continued, "but the good news is, i got you a gift for your hard's work this week!" and threw some envelopes onto the table.

each employee slowly grabbed one envelope and carefully opened it; they had learned to be wary of Datisi's gifts. "coupons?"

"that's right!" Datisi said as joy beamed from his face. "10% off on your 5th purchase! useable at any DATS Inc. store!"

"Datisi, the company is currently facing three lawsuits for selling faulty explosives. what makes you think we would use these?"

Datisi was in a good mood, however, and he was not about to listen to these petty complaints. "well maybe if you did your job properly, we wouldn't have that problem, now would we?"

he turned around to leave. "try to finish this thing today, will ya? maybe we can get back to our normal work schedule by next week."

to not fuck this up," was the last thing Menalque said before casting a vote for his own execution. annoyed, he turned his back to the rest of the group as he pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Datisi's number, intending to let him know a decision has been made.

it didn't take long for Datisi to march into the alpha meeting room. despite the quick pace, he was, as usual, absent-mindedly typing on his phone. the employees wondered how he hadn't broken half of his bones by now.

"and who's the lucky winner of the day?" he casually inquired while taking his pistol out of its holster.

"i am."

hearing that voice pop up, Datisi put his phone down, his face going from bored to confused. "Menalque?" Menalque was the employee he had known the longest by far; in fact, Datisi was still wearing the bracelet he got on one of their first missions together years ago.

Datisi looked at the group, hoping he'd misheard, but it didn't seem like he did. "Dats, it's not me," declared Menalque in a steady voice; he knew he was about to die, but he wasn't going to give

them

the satisfaction of falling into despair right before his execution.

"well then. my office, please," said Datisi as he put the gun back into its holster. the two of them left the room, closing the door behind them. the rest of the employees were quietly standing in the meeting room as they listened to the two pairs of steps departing.

then silence.

then a gunshot.

moments later, Datisi was back in the meeting room. this time, instead of carrying his phone or a gun, he was holding a sealed envelope. "Menalque gave this to me. he said to read it in front of all of you."

once he made sure everyone was paying attention, Datisi carefully ripped the envelope open. inside of it was a single sheet of paper neatly folded in half. the message on it was short, but its words were so passionate and moving, it touched the entirety of the remaining workforce. Datisi tried his best not to have his voice tremble as he read out,

flavourmonday morning. it was wild to think that this whole debacle had started only a week ago.

"emergency meeting. all personnel to see me in the alpha meeting room ASAP."

like clockwork, your phone went off, showing that same text from your boss. you didn't really get why he kept telling you all to meet up, you've learned the daily schedule by now. was there a joke you were missing?

entering the meeting room, there were still a few minutes left before Datisi would appear, and there was no heated discussion or small talk going on, so you sat down in silence. for the first time in a while, you looked around without any distractions, and you noticed how the room felt so... empty.

Datisi didn't take long. after slamming the doors open, he casually dropped himself into his favourite chair, still mindlessly typing on his phone.

a few minutes passed, the time the meeting was supposed to start came and went, and Datisi still wasn't looking up from the screen. this was unusual; he always started the meetings on time, mostly because that meant he could leave as soon as possible. what was going on?

just as you were thinking about trying to ask him what was going on, you heard steps in the hallway. moments later, GuiltyLion appeared in the room, a mocha in his hand. "sorry i'm late," he apologized, "i wanted to go grab a coffee after finishing the overnight shift."

seeing GuiltyLion has finally arrived, Datisi nodded, put his phone down, and finally decided to speak. "first and foremost, everyone is still present." he paused for a second. "now, the reason why i invited you here is to let you know that there will be one less person working overtime each night. i can assure you, this decision has been made solely in an effort to reward you for your great work, and not at all because i am running out of employees."

he got up from his chair. "also, i--" he was interrupted by his phone, which he forgot put on silent. it was an incoming discord call. after taking one quick glance at the screen, he quickly declined the call and put the phone back into his pocket.

"i, uh, gotta go. good luck today."

despite arguing through the entire workday, it was of no use; the majority voted that PookyTheMagicalBear is the final infiltrator.

seeing the final vote being put down didn't make Pooky stop yelling for Bell's head. "right... i'm gonna go let Datisi know we're done for the day," mumbled Cat Scratch Fever as she pulled her phone out and tried to mentally tune out the screaming.

a little while after receiving the call, Datisi marched into the meeting room, casually spinning his handgun around his index finger. "sorry i kept you waiting, i had to take a call... Pooky, i assume?" asked Datisi, seeing him separated from the other employees. the rest of the workforce nodded.

"well, then. Pooky, to my office," said Datisi as he turned around, gestured to Pooky to follow him, and started walking towards the room's exit.

just as Datisi reached for the door's knob, he felt a sharp pain in his shin. the kick catching him off guard, he lost his balance and dropped his handgun. by the time he realized what was happening, he was in a choke hold, a pistol barrel pressed against his temple.

"STEP BACK! one move and i'll fucking kill him!" screeched Pooky as he turned around to face the employees. they all looked frightened, holding their hands up. their eyes were darting between Datisi and Pooky, but none of them dared to even try to move; Datisi was such a great boss, none of them wanted to see him die.

despite Pooky's threats, Datisi kept kicking, his gaze seemingly unfocused out the meeting room window. unfortunately, the resistance seemed to be of no use, probably due to his frequent gym skipping.

"here's what's gonna happen," said Pooky as he tried to keep his balance, "we're going to his office, and if he wants to live, he's going to give me the new mainframe password." Pooky kept having to shuffle backwards in order to not fall over. "and if YOU want him to live, you better not try anything funny." a smile crept on his face. "and then... i..."

Pooky trailed off, suddenly focusing his vision on one of the buildings outside. seeing him looking at something, the employees instinctually turned their heads around too, in order to take a quick glance out the window.

there was a faint glint of light coming from the neighbouring building's rooftop.

just as they all realized what was going on, a booming gunshot was heard. it was accompanied by a sound of one of the windows shattering, and Pooky's lifeless body collapsing onto the floor.

before they could rush to him, he gestured for them to stay back; he was fine, he just needed some air.

after managing to get back up onto his feet, the looks on his employees' faces told him they were waiting on an explanation.

"at the time, i thought Malakittens was just trying to scare me," he sighed, trying not to let his fear show, "but after VP Baltar actually shot at me, i realized GeorgeBailey's employees are much more bloodthirsty than i first thought. they were willing to disobey his orders, and i knew it wasn't safe."

as he was speaking, he was walking over to the broken window. "so i took some... safety precautions," he said, vaguely gesturing towards the neighbouring building's rooftop.

for a split second, you thought you saw a stirner-like figure pass behind one of that building's windows.

Datisi walked over to the meeting room's exit, careful not to ruin his shoes by stepping into blood. "good work, team. i'm going to call the cleaning and repairing services; it's going to take a bit to get this meeting room back in order, though, so let's all take tomorrow off."

thank you all for playing, thank you to those who replaced in, and an enormous thank you to my backup mod georgebailey for putting up with me through this!

pt's will be getting unlocked shortly - with the exception of the scum pt and the notes threads, inhabitants of hose have 48 hours to request redactions.

i owe you all an apology. the part of the ruleset that presented the game's mechanics was horribly written. i don't have much more to say other than i rushed it, i fucked it up, and i'm sorry.

i'm also not completely happy with how the setup's turned out otherwise. thank you to those who provided feedback in the dead thread, and you're encouraged to keep providing it now that the game is over. i plan to mod more theme games in the future, and i want to learn what works and what doesn't.

the thread is now unlocked for post-game discussion.
