Andante is obvtown, confusion looks pretty darn genuine to me.

Discarding IC I don't see as any scummier than any other Town discard.

As for my draws, I had 2 Town and 1 Alien

Discards do matter. Alignments only get mod-shifted if the minimum requirements aren't met, and unless someone wants to claim that theirs was, we have no reason to just assume that happened.

Honestly, the Japanese isn't that bad. I was able to just ignore the Japanese characters (aside from the numbers, which were pretty obvious anyway) and the posts are still plenty readable.

Right then, so the main thing that sticks out at me so far is... Emotion Calculus.

Andante's confusion about the discards and subsequent oversharing I think was genuine and therefore Townie, as expressed earlier.

Noraa's confusion about the alignments though... That one I have a harder time believing, especially since Ircher had already brought up the relevancy of discards to the odds of a player's alignment previously. And the more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm wondering if that might have been a slip that their own alignment got mod-shifted...

And then Ircher brought up that Andante's played Grand Idea before, and as such shouldn't have been confused. This feels incredibly in bad faith, because the discard mechanic doesn't exist in regular Grand Idea, and that was the sole point of confusion.

So yeah,

As far as other slots go, I don't have anything solid yet. I'm choosing to interpret all the cult talk as shitposting for now, and the rest has been pretty milquetoast fare so far.

there was no confusion. alignment shifting is IN THE RULES. did you not read them or something

The confusion was that you seemed to think it would happen arbitrarily, or was in some way more likely than it actually is.

The evidence is that the rules explicitly state the circumstances shifts will happen (an alignment not meeting a minimum requirement), and that scenario being pretty unlikely to actually happen, or at least not likely enough to completely throw out discards as being worth talking about

but yeah, grandest idea doesn't work with it being so meta driven, unironically, secret alts would make this better

Secret alts would theoretically make every Mafia game better, and yet for some reason both times I've attempted secret alt games, I've failed to properly get engaged. Though two is a rather small sample size, maybe it's just a coincidence.

There's also the matter of secret alts unfortunately not being able to truly conceal identities, unless the players make a conscious effort to play differently than normal
