The roleplay is over-the-top but intentionally or not, it's a smoke screen. Probably the players decided to do this even before they were dealt their role card.

Strange that maxwell read Sandman, but not Titus.

This analogy is pretty forced. Asking you to justify voting Akarin is completely different in both content and purpose from asking something like "so who are we voting" in general.
