Well, here goes nothing.
I made this alt to allow for the most experimental of experimental play. I joined this game with this alt because whatever stupid ideas came into my head, the Simenon account wouldn’t have to deal with the consequences. When I got the role that I currently have, I was overjoyed, because it allowed me to try out a new experiment.
I was remembering Basically Communist Mafia, a game I designed where the power roles had to be voted on for them to be used. I though that if I applied that to this game, it could be a useful scumhunting tactic. If I could narrow down the people who were unwilling to sacrifice themselves for a mysterious ability, I felt that I could narrow down the group of those who were scum. Whether this was effective or not is another story (I think at least ZONEACE managed to expose himself through it.) The fact was, I was not who I claimed to be. And if that majority was actually reached, I would use my real ability, which I will reveal later, and all would be well, with no one the wiser.
The problem was I was forced to claim, which is something I never foresaw that early in the game. And, while I should have told the truth then, I didn’t, because again, this was Thyroidectomy, and Simenon doesn’t take any responsibility for the actions of Thyroidectomy. Unfortunately, it’s easy to be caught up in your own lies when you don’t care enough about the result of them.
Here’s my real role which involves no Renaissance Fair:
I have four one shot abilities:
1. Kingmaker (Used on Shanba night one)
2. Roleblock all scum actions (I did use this last night.)
3. Roleblock all actions.
4. Roleblock all town actions.
My first ability has been confirmed. I realize that there is a strong incentive to lynch me at this point, since basically my entire play has been made up of lies. I am just here to answer any questions you might have, and to offer an apology to all of you. Even under an alt account, perhaps especially under an alt account, my actions were irresponsible and unethical.

1. I have no idea. It might come into some use, though. Say a confirmed townie threatens to use a dangerous role.Nocmen wrote: Now why the hell would you use that fourth ability though? Why would you claim that it exists?
2. See the above example. Frankly, I think it's about useless, but since I'm telling the truth, I might as well tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.SEND THE VECTOIDS-

I don't think I'm setting much of an example, to be honest. Really, I understand this argument, but I apologized and I still fully acknowledge my wrongs. I didn't pull an ABR here.Simenon lied about his role, was prodded about it, and eventualy came out as a liar, and while I hold no animosity for it, that kind of behavior as town is exactly what the Lynch All Liars meme was intended to counteract. The fact that he might very well be lying scum does help, as does the fact that we look to have breathing room for a mislynch, but in general, as policy, I think we have to (and I'm certainly compelled to) lynch him.
----
Would anybody like to refresh my memory as to why we aren't lynching belgarion today? I'm planning a big reread soon, since apparently half of the players are not to be lynched and for some of the cases I don't know why,

Simenon will stick to the original Kison vote but he likes Thyroid's case.SEND THE VECTOIDS-

There's a significant conflict of interest here.armlx wrote:
To what? My point is just laying out a long chain of lynches, especially in a game like this that appears to be extremely power role heavy, is pointless and can only lock the town into decisions long before they should be made.Simenon wrote:

Kison- innocent from what I can gather.curiouskarmadog wrote:Simenon wrote:Kison- innocent from what I can gather.
Nothing mentioning investigations were in my original role pm, so I assume someone must have given it to me.did you get a one shot investigation from your role or did someone else give it to you?
In a role for designers I think some version of an inventor would likely be in the game. And yes, I made Shanba king as well.let me get this straight..you have claimed to have stopped all mafia choices one night and you have had an investigation?...also didnt you claim at one point that you made Shanba King too?you might as well provide your investigation result..SEND THE VECTOIDS-

This should be the current list. Specifically, though, I prefer the stark wagon, because UA seemed town to me and for the reasons TSS posted. Besides, he wanted to kill me a while back, and I disagreed with him, probably for good reasons.I'm back to my old list. SSF352, ZONEACE, stark.

I thought so too, but that's because IRC recognized the former. I think the mainstream idea on MS is that the cults survive with out recruiting.Twomz wrote: 3) In my experience all the cultists die when the leader dies, but I guess I could see them surviving without the leader.

Okay, caught up.
Twomz: are you and SirT still in that mutual protection relationship?
One reason a massclaim would be benefitial is that scum would have to account for the lost night choices on the nights that I fired.
Also, remember that I still can role block everybody, which can buy us an extra day (a lynch before an even lylo gets to be two lynches).SEND THE VECTOIDS-

If you're wondering why I used it immediately, it was because I was afraid of an expiration date. The pm essentially boiled down to "you have a one-shot investigation".armlx wrote:
I'm still confused, but not for the same reason.I have said that it was not in my original role pm and was given to me the night that I used it.SEND THE VECTOIDS-

What risk do we run from massclaiming?armlx wrote: Also, the more I think about it, the less I endorse mass claim due to the ability of the mod to have altered role alignments. I don't know if we are going to reveal much relevant information.

So that means we shouldn't have her claim at all?armlx wrote:
We have her in normal claim range in pledged votes. Stalling on a role claim in a force claim scenario is one of the biggest scum tells.Simenon wrote:armlx wrote:
