Mission senders =/= freelancers. Senders send from various factions, and thus are part of these factions.

This was all set-up speculation. I was guessing that perhaps you four had some initual post restiction forcing you to reveal yourselves. From the reponses of the Fonz and yourself it appears that is not the case.

We still don't know that all the factions are criminal in nature. The mention of a fifth sleeper ship in the intro means we can't discount a possible fifth faction hiding among us.

I'm just trowing ideas out.
