I think I'm beginning to see why some people hate the random voting that starts off every game.

When townies start doing joking uber-scummy posts, nothing can really be learned from it. And if you can't learn anything from it then it's useless.

Based on how many people are making jokes, some of them must be town. I'm not discouraging scum from joking around. They can keep on clowning around if they want.

Joking about produces responses. No responses means no info.

Unright. I don't think you have grasped the concept of the random voting stage. It produces reactions, which in turn produces responses to those reactions. These responses could have 'partial' scummy hints in it and we can pressure the person with the 'partial' scummy response. That guy can either be pressured into explaining himself well, or totally messing it up, ending up in a possible lynch.

Help me out a bit... What possible responses to self-voting are you looking for that might lead to a scum-tell? As far as I can tell, the only responses to a self-vote are annoyance, indifference, or amusement. And those derive from the personality of the player, not the nuances of the role that the player has.

What system did you use to obtain your random result?
Also, is it your goal in this game to find scum?

Same here. Although I think I've played with BOTH ABR and BM. Some lovely games... I think.

That "1 person who might not back me up" stuff sounds like he's Mason, but his Mason partner (he specified that there is only one) won't confirm his claim, although that is the only "power" that two Masons have.

I most certanly do not. If one Mason is about to be lynched, the other one will claim to prevent the lynching of a pro-town. Isn't that the whole point of the "Mason" role? Gage's claim goes against logic. Thus, it must be false. My vote stays on him.

This might be a newbie question, but: How do you trap scum by fake-claiming a Mason? What would the theoretical Scum have to do to get traped?

I meant that Masons can plan a scum trap during the night and implement it on the day. Eg. Starting a fake bandwagon, and then claiming once scum have caught.

Hey. It's been a while since I posted where I stand.

I stand on the fence with BM. His previous actions and bandwagon and -1 etc made we want a vote on him but not a lynch, but then I wanted his re-read and, due to him posting me as 'probably' pro-town as apposed to everyone thinking I'm scum in every single game, I like him.
