Oman- 2 (AlyG, Ooba)
SSF- 2 (Laptop Gun, OpposedForce)
LoudMouthLee- 2 (Sammich, JordanA24)
Obaa- 1 (curiouskarmadog)
TylerJ- 1 (Shteven)
17 alive, 9 to lynch.
It's fine. No worries.
Back on topic. I do not agree with LML's points against Jordan. I can see them, I just don't agree with them. Analysis of tone has, to me, been a fancy way to say "gut", to be honest. I'd use it to support an argument, but not as an argument's base...
Oman's bandwagon didn't strike me as scummy...-

Defending=/= Scumtell
Defensiveness =/= Defending
I'm not an expert on the actual differences between the two though, so you'll have to ask someone else!-

Explain this please, I'm not really sure what you're getting at. You think my reasons for defending Oman and LML were crappy?LaptopGun wrote:Really crappy evidence (I think I am reading to much into it), I just think I should point that out. Not really. For there to be a quicklynch, the remaining scum would have to give themselves away as scum, which they wouldn't want to do on day 1!ooba wrote:And doesn't it run the risk of backfiring? (i.e) What if there's a quick lynch even before you could unvote?-

I dont think your reasons for "defending" for particuarly bad. Ok, I think Oman really doesn't have a lot of "good about him, but you did offer reasons for your defense. I use defense here more or less in a general sense, not that you really like them. Sorry for the confusion.

I agree with this metaphor, regardless of how ridiculously elaborate it is.CKD wrote:aimee, last time I am going to try to explain it to you. You have a crazy looking guy who always sharpens knives while mumbling to himself in the park (ie bandwagoning acting scummy). You see this guy and you automatic think, jesus he is going to kill someone (scum) in the park (town). If it was the first time I have ever seen the guy, I would probably call the authories to throw is ass in jail (vote for a lynch). However, you go to 4 other parks and see the same guy acting the same way in every park.
Now the odds that he wants to kill someone (scum) in every park (town) is very low. I dont want to ignore him (no FoS) because the dude is acting very strangely(scummy), but I am not sure he is a killer (scum) either..
thus the FoS.

I should probably point out that by "fast moving game", I meant "gets lots of posts in a short space of time", rather than "quick votes, quick lynches and bandwagons".LaptopGun wrote:
By the same token that the scum screw up, the townies can screw up and mislynch. The games I've played have taught me that. In one Newbie Game, one of the mafia players (who was very slick) deliberately sped the game up to forced us into lylo (full disclosure- this got me lynched day 1 as the doc and then a night liynch of our COP). The townies won despite the odds as the remaining "head" townie guy dragged his feet about everything and the mafia made a mistake trying to lynch someone else. Not enough bandwagon. Granted in a bigger game such as this that's not as massive as an issue. I thought I'd point it point it out. I'd be more concerned if we didn't have more than one running bandwagon. Less chance of a quick hammer sort of deal. Whatever, whatever the case maybe this game is fun .somestrangeflea wrote:Unvote

In unrelated news, LTG seems to be trying too hard to hold onto his vote on me. I am worried somewhat.
"Out of the blue"? How is it overly surprising that I defended Jordan and Oman? Did you expect me not to?LTG wrote:SSF picked 2 other players to defend out of the blue early in the game before we had a firm grasp how some of these people acted.
Why didn't you? Why bring up something now which you claim you let me get away with earlier? You give a sort of excuse...LTG wrote:SSF also did a OMGUS vote on me earlier that I didnt call him on.
How is "I thought I was going to vote for someone else" a valid reason for ignoring another players posts which, you try to make out you believe, are scummy?LTG wrote:I really didnt care because at the time I firmly expected to vote for Oman in the very near future.
This is just wrong. Townies really shouldn't be scared that people might think that changing a vote is scummy...LTG wrote:Also I can't exactly switch now anyway as wouldn't that look scummy?
So, your reasoning for your initial vote was "SSF defended 2 people. The scumteam has 3 living members, therefore he's more likely to be scum.", correct?LTG wrote:FYI this whole thing stems from Post 49. SSF defends Jordan and says he doesn’t considers Oman ok. Not only this, but you only have an opinion on LML and Oman. All the rest are vague grey areas which don't say very much of anything.
The top section is essentially a rehash of the thread, with almost no inisight whatsoever.

[1] What's your point? I still don't see how claiming that you are town aligned provides any form of content whatsoever.OpposedForce wrote:I disagree with this. A person would know his own alignment on hand once he gets the mod's pm.So by posting "Super Sexy Town" it would pretty much be claiming any of the roles on the town side. Whether it's cop,doctor,vigilante, or townie saying to everybody he is town means he is claming pro-town. [1]Techincally I can see where this wouldn't actually be a actual role claim but an alignment claim.Also I'm not sure what you meant with your post "Everyone here is town, right?" Do you mean that most likely everybody here would claim pro-town? [2]
[2] Again, what's your point? Are you trying to put forward that some playerswouldn'tclaim pro-town?
I'm really not too sure what 290 is trying to say. I could be missing something major here, but could someone care to explain?

I honestly have no idea. I didn't realise that I'd been gone for a week. I tend to base my posting rate on how fast the game itself is moving, so that I don't control 1 in 5 posts, and that each post I make is separated by a fair amount of other posts, so there's some content for me to actually talk about! There've only been 30 posts between this post and my last post, which, for a game with 17 players alive in it, is kinda sucky.LaptopGun wrote:Where's SSF?
To sum up, I haven't been posting because overall thread activity is low. Whilst I realise that my lack of posting is contributing to this, I can't help but find it hard to be motivated in a game with so few active players...
Mod: Can we get prods on LML, White, ManaSpryte, AlyG, timmers, ooba and skitzer, and a votecount, please?-

Even though I was getting a lot of excitiment from this game, I will not continue it, I feel it has shifted too far from the actual spirit of the game.
I vote that New C9 goes back to the open queue so that people can play it again if they want.
I feel that a completely fresh game with a new setup and new players is exactly what this game needs, since, to be perfectly frank, I get the impression that there aren't many people who actuallycareabout this game.-
