it is not at all actually. The reason I replaced out of our last game together was because I was compromised by information that I should not have had because a player in the game talked about his alignment in a private chat I had access to. It had nothing to do with you pushing me at all.

I didn't say FB has no takes, though they are few and far between. It's more of the fact their takes don't go anywhere. I don't have a strong FB meta, but I don't take anyone this game as a complete slouch.

I get the working a lot thing. I have put in 8 hours Sunday, 14 Monday, and 12 yesterday at work. It sucks and makes it hard to stay up on everything in a mafia game or pursue threads as deeply as you may like. That being said, I do still think it's possible to semi-read along and have some kind of viewpoint.

like I think it's questionable to shade someone for not having conviction on anything because I don't feel like I have a lot of conviction on anything so far either because it's p early so I was wondering if you were making a general remark or if there was some observation you expected Town!FB to have made that he hasn't done yet.

even in the game that guiltylion cited - FB is more townie but his tone is mostly joking and he doesn't really show "conviction" per se in anything very early - he shows it later down the line after he's gotten more time in the game.

I don't really think of FB as someone who immediately has high conviction reads/thoughts right away - he's more of a casual throw random things around type of player.

I feel like the central thread of 1291 is that Relly's playstyle is very surface level and he can fit it into a narrative where it's done as scum to fit into the game smoothly and push scum narratives but like it very easily could just be how Relly plays the game?

Like sure the reads might be given too easily but I don't think those are very entrenched reads to begin with? He could just be casually throwing things around and changing his mind from here to there and being very touch and go with everything because it's fun to him? Like the overall game state feels very breezy light and fun and I can see Relly!town just deciding to play that way.

reading through scamper's 1291, at least the parts that relate to irrel's read on me, i feel like he's put a lot of what i was vaguely feeling into words. because what i have been feeling about irrel's read on me is that it doesn't interally *make sense*. like, he said he was kind of townreading me for not being ~extra~, but then later calls me out for not being happy. he completely misunderstands my firebringer push. and even after i call out these things, which are very easy to call out, he goes "oh no, i'm not scumreading datisi anymore... no ahah wait i am!" like how is me doing those things supposed to be scum-indicative? the only explanation i can think of is that irrel thinks i'm *completely incapable* as a town player, but i don't feel like that's a reasonable thought for anyone to have?

like, it feels like he's tryign to give off an appearance of a tunnelled townie, but... he doesn't actually have good reasons to tunnell me.

if relly is town, I would expect him to think a lot/tunnel about you due to the history of having played his last game with scum!you and being utterly snowed by you?

He also just modded a game where scum you ended up winning at endgame carrying a teammate who didnt even play.

my comment is in response to scamper about whether the suspicion feels "real" or "not"

I recognize that a lot of times people are read as town/scum on the

conviction

they exude and its a fairly reliable metric when applied to most players - however for the metagame it is extremely toxic and painful to play and I find it refreshing that Relly's push feels more whimsical and playful rather than how some people push with absolute conviction.


In regards to whether relly is scum trying to mislim you or town who is overly sensitive because he's seen you work as scum twice now, I'm not really sure - I'd think it's more likely to be the later than the former - I think there are a lot easier targets than you but I guess he could be replicating something he was planning to do earlier - hence scamper's point about why it looks fake-sorty.

I actually kind of think you wouldn't if you thought I was scum because you simply don't have the thread influence or reasoning to make a push that is likely to kill me and if you're not likely to kill me then why do I even care? You're basically giving me free weapons and making me look better atp.

what does make sense to me is you are feeling uneasy about your solution in the Turing Test and you want to get a better read of me in that game but

you can't talk to me in that game anymore

so you decide to establish a baseline for me and compare.

How do you establish the baseline? well you push me here and see how I react to a suspicion and try to compare with when you called me scum for a brief moment in that game and see if there's any divergence.

but this method only makes sense to do if you know I'm town here and you're testing for a reaction to compare where you know my actual alignment - it doesn't help you if you

because how is the comparison even supposed to work?

Another point that fit into the theory is when GuiltyLion asked you something along the lines of "hey I thought Ari was way scummier in this game than Turing LOL" and you kind of replied with a flat yea.

I feel like the way he talked with you was kind of a spontaneous happy uninformed way while your response was notably flat and felt evasive as if you wanted to hide the line of thought between those two games because you can't say to him well I was comparing her play here to that game to evaluate whether she's scum in that game because it would give away that you know what my alignment in this game is.


Anyway that was the thread that's been going through my head but I recognize it's not like very good reasoning and probably not what happened here regardless of your alignment and i'm just hoping you get to like be closer to your town game in that game and carry me to a win here because I like being carried <3

i think that ari likes to be in control of things as scum and push for the things she wants. i think that it would be somewhat unnatural for her to voluntarily step back and take on more of a support/observing role, and she would only do it if she felt like it would get her somewhere or in order to attempt to manipulate someone, or to specifically break that expectation

as town she has motivation to do that though because of the reasons she's stated already

it's possible that as scum who started this game prior to the other one finishing, knowing there would be some overlap in players, she could have tried to go for a different approach here to make the differences clear. i wouldn't want to rule that out, but i don't think it's most likely

The key difference between this game and Turing - that setup is not a setup where scum can deepwolf and win whereas this one is.

In Turing if three scum get voted out - the game is over, it doesn't matter how deep one deepwolf gets into the townblock, if you lose three teammates to elimination, you lose the game. By necessity I need to have influence and control things to win, I can't just become very townread and win.

Also the scenarios where you need to influence things to your side will always happen, scum will come up for elimination, it's p much inevitable.

This game does not have that setup - it's open in terms of how you want to play, I can fade into background and have no real threats, scum can never come up for elimination, etc. The game is entirely different and I kind of think you and Datisi would realize this because you're both very smart people and you both understand how strategy works so it feels that read of me is pretty ????

so I thought it didn't make a lot of sense for you to push me to sort me in this game because I don't think anyone's really caught me as scum by wagoning me.

I don't think you would think of me as a scum player who can be sorted with pressure or solved with pressure.

in fact it's almost dangerous in a way to push scum me because I am fairly decent at looking

and gaining thread control by getting people to vote for me I think.

because you stated you didn't want to give me reasoning for the push because you are worried scum me can just judo flip you and kill you easily because ripping apart bad cases is very easy for me and people here have seen me do it as town to scum and mercilessly kill them. You would be essentially giving me the tools to kill you if I was scum with very little gain or upside for yourself. You can't get me to be yeeted without providing very solid reasoning and you don't have the reasoning or ammo to put into the push.

So why would you push me here if you suspect I'm scum? I actually kind of think you wouldn't if you thought I was scum because you simply don't have the thread influence or reasoning to make a push that is likely to kill me and if you're not likely to kill me then why do I even care? You're basically giving me free weapons and making me look better atp.

Like I don't know what your intent here is but it just rankles me, it reads like "don't try to sort me because I am simply too good at this game" and maybe I'm just missing context from your previous game that you're referencing, but when I see those kind of "a wagon on me is useless" posts it just makes me want to hit the big red button.

I guess my issue with his thought process here is that I don't think he organically comes up with this on his own as he's never really played with me like ever?

I have a theory that someone in the scum pt told CMM that he wasn't going to get me limmed so he should just move his vote somewhere else and do something useful and that's where his frustration with me stems from.

I'm not sure it's frustration rooted in "ari is scum and nobody believes me" so much as frustration in "she's playing so badly and scummily but nobody wants to vote her" and the later feels like more of a scum thought process to me.

I don't feel that certain about this so I'm p ok with voting somewhere else if you want to do something else.

im not saying it's impossible, but i've reviewed gamma games that I have and only town!gamma has this

. scum!gamma is so toothless and attempts to buddy once in a while (which stand out as out of character, as a spectator).
