Well, not that my .02 matters, but when I saw his role-claims, I thought he was just trying to stir up conversation on a brand-new thread. In my experience games can sometimes start off slow, and sometimes never pick up speed. Looks like he did a good job of it too. I guess he could be the jester, but it seems like he's being too obvious about it.-

Forgive me for losing track here. Are you refering to this game as GS's first game? Or are you aware of another game in which GS is playing, cuz while he's probably not scum, we really haven't established that yet.aioqwe wrote:

GS's first game has a jester in it... He (GS) is town, but it's still ongoing... If that helps anyone...-

Huh. Maybe. I thought he was saying that I had guessed his tactic, then there's that part where he said "He can not get his money until tomorrow", so you might be on to something there.Lloyd wrote:Greasy Spot,
In a re-read, here's my latest thought:
With exception of you, we're all gamblers today. Joubert voting for you triggered a game mechanics event.
Care to comment with another post?-

I can't even imagine what would ensue if we did.armlx wrote:

With my role and the obviously wacky role of greasy spot, I'm half tempted to ask for a massclaim. This game might be broken.-

Cool, I've never encountered a PR. It kinda makes sense though. He talks only in riddles. That's gotta be part of it.
OK, here's my logic, help me out guys. Why would the mod put some kind of riddle - PR on someone? I mean, he could go one of 3 ways right? Town, Scum, or Jester.
In you guys experience with a jester, is it easy for the jester to get the win? 'Cuz it seems like that would be a good reason to put such a ridiculous PR on someone. I mean it just screams 'wacky'
Course he could be faking it. It could be that all this is just to keep us from voting him. But then that just seems too stupid for a scum to do. I mean of course the cop is going to investigate him right off, ya know?
On a side note, and you guys probably already figured this out, Ever single one of GS' posts is a role-claim. Further, his first few all imply that he is somehow restricted in his interaction with the game.-

I don't think so, it just seems to me that some of his role claims seem to indicate that he has special knowledge... "I hold all the cards" "I'm the know it all"
Going back and re-reading them all I guess there aren't that many posts indicating it. *Shruggs shoulders*
It just popped in my head. What say you GS?-

I could put a fourth vote on GS, but I think we're barking up the wrong tree here. I'm really leaning towards Either Ryan or Sensfan or both. I'm going to do a read through and see what I can find. In the mean time in case I haven't already done so, I'm removing my random vote since we're in serious mdoe here.
Unvote-

Well, I'm not sure how Lloyd came by his list of suggested roles (in associating them to certain players) only a few of the ones he suggested were cases where GS posted the claim immediately following that person's post. But in response I will say that none of the ones he posted resembles my role, so I don't think you're onto anything Lloyd.
Second, I second ViddlesFOS: Anyone supporting a massclaimMaybe I'm just a noob, but I don't see how it would benefit anyone but the scumbags.
Third, what the h%&l was that giant post of numbers from Lloyd all about??
Lastly, after re-reading the initial posts I'll list the top of my Scum-o-meter:
Sensfan:70% - A non random vote on page 2 with no explanation until pressed. Then hard bickering with Ryan.
I did think Ryan was more suspicious for awhile, but IMO his scummy-ness is tied into GS. If GS turns up scum, Ryan's going down (trying to instill fear of the jester in the town), but again I think the GS thing just isn't happening, so:
Ryan and GS: 45%
aioqwe: 40%
Basically, assuming Sensfan and Ryan are not both scum (and I'm not ruling that out) I think it unlikely that a pair of townies would launch into such heated arguments when they both based many of their motives on less than solid assumptions.
So:Vote: SensFan-

That's true, but not before several other people came out with the same reason to suspect Ryan. Why not just come right out with it? Like I said, until the last few pages I was really eyeing Ryan, like everyone else has been, but now that GS is looking less like scum, the whole reason for suspecting Ryan is loosing crediblity with me, and seeing as how you've been pushing so hard on him, it looks to me like you've begun you're attack on him using a very convenient reason (even more convenient because you waited for someone else to suggest it).-

Edit post #168 BWODP:
Excuse me, thinktank and Viddles had not yet suggested that ryan was involved with GS, but they had begun to discuss the possibility that GS was scum hiding behind the crown of a jester, and who better to paint as the scum partner but the one who suggested there could be a jester in the first place?-

I was just reading that game and one of the role claims went like this:Lloyd wrote:
If this is similar to the Worst Role Evar game, then we should all just shoot ourselves in the footRosso Carne wrote:unless this is similar to worst role evar, im fucking scared.
I about fell out of my chair when I read that!Ooh is it my turn to claim now?
OK, listen up for the worst role evar. I'm the unpopular cult leader. I get to recruit people into a cult at night, but nobody wants to be in a cult with me in it, so I am excluded. I win with the town.
The reason I wanted to claim last is cause I wanted to hear whether Nox would mention anything about being recruited. She is the only living cult member. Unfortunately, i kinda believe her claim so not sure whether lynching her is a good idea with 2 (?) mafia still out there.-

What I don't understand is why GS is completely dodging all attempts at communication. The only post that resembles a response is the bartender claim. He's been asked many times for other clues with ways of responding in his posts and he's dodged them all. I mean the mod would have had to give him specific instructions not to respond to our posts. It seems a little far fetched to me.
I think he might be faking it.-

Well, in his defense, his latest role claim seems to imply that the mod is keeping close tabs on him. This is of course assuming that we believe him.armlx wrote:Seriously, GS, don't post unless you are trying to participate in the conversation or have to for role reasons. if you are trying to participate, make it more evident. Hey guys. I'm sorry I've been away. I came down with the flu so bad I've been bedridden since sunday morning. Briefly reading through the past few days I'm a little more comfortable with my vote on Ryan. Even after he and sensfan quit bickering there has still seemed to be this undertone of hostility between those two. Could be just conflicting personalities, but I think one of them is covering up. After the jester thing and all else I feel comfortable enough with my vote to leave it on, especially considering a no-lynch deadline.
I'm still pretty bad, but I think I can give you guys a post a day until I'm better.-

I drag my sorry but in here and you guys have been busy!
You know I'm new to this mafia thing, but all the fuss Ryan is throwing is dragging out a lot of good conversation. Even if he does turn up town (doubtful) he's helped me identify some suspects.
I don't think it's been a waste.
I'm confident with my vote.-
