IIRC the anime is fucking terrible though. And people should go with the VN. (Though Umineko is worse about that, IIRC)
The voices without the lips moving creeps me out ._.Last edited by Rena on Tue Nov 23, 2010 12:27 pm, edited 2 times in total."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Dammit SpyreX, why you gotta be so awesome and ask Andrew the questions I wanted to ask?
1. What is your experience level? -how many games have you played in?
Over 9000. This may not actually be an exaggeration (though it probably is. But a lot, be rest assured)
2. Do you agree with Lynch All Liars?
As with any "all" thing, I feel that the situation must always be checked with regard to scum intent. However, a *lot* of lies are done with scum intent, so I'm likely to lynch a liar unless the action does NOT benefit scum.
3. Do you agree with Lynch all Lurkers?
Again with the "all" thing. Lurkers are particularly difficult. But I've been burned often enough by NOT lynching lurkers that I think it can be a viable strategy and would probably go with it if it was presented.
4. What would you do as scum at L-1 to try and shift the lynch away from you?
Fakeclaim. Usually something in line with whoever I *actually* targetted if I happen to have a role as scum. That sort of thing. I can usually buy a day with that. And if that doesn't work tell town how stupid they are for a page or two until I'm hammered.
5. When do you find it appropriate to hammer someone?
ALWAYS! They're at L-1 for a reason. (Though admittedly I'll wait for hanging discussion threads to end as well as anticipate a claim)
@LadyLambdaDelta: It's quite helpful for me, actually. Are you worried about saying something you...might not have intended to ^-^?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

5, not necessarily.
4, you clearly don't understand the question.
3, it actually is pretty fucking rational, especially when people don't do it. Time and time again the active people get mislynched because they are *out there*, and the lurker scum goes by unmolested.
I find it VERY interesting how worried andrew is about being "trapped""Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Hi. You did not seriously just flavor spec connecting things to roles, Lady. You did NOT just do that. I refuse to believe that anyone would do anything that silly.
No. Fricken. Flavor Spec. It's a terrible, TERRIBLE fucking idea."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, you don't understand the purpose of the question, rather, TL. And I really feel it would have less effect if I fully explained at this juncture. I would STRONGLY appreciate it if you answered. After all, if you're town, you have nothing to lose by answering it, do you?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Carrot: Yeah, no, I assume you mean flavor claiming is somehow good. It isn't. I could explain but I'm not going to. If you can't figure it out then I'm afraid that I must ignore your opinions on flavor claiming. I DO agree that "role fishing" isn't a scum tell, but it's not a pro town thing to do.
Oh, not to mention that, in my experience, most mods give flavor fakeclaims, myself included, so a flavor claim just means you're getting a believable line of bullshit from someone. If flavor claims have broken games you've played in in the past, quite frankly, they were terribly designed games.
@Zazie: Even mocking it is an answer, my friend. I did indeed miss you not responding, and I'm sorry for that oversight. May I ask your point, again?
@City: Don't answer Zazie until Zazie answers you.
@Exilon: No, you're wrong, Zodiark isn't scum (yet). No scum intent coming off him. Misguided maybe, but being wrong != being scummy.
@Carrot: I really hope you don't assume I'm a traditional player. I'm far from it. As far as I'm concerned, "the book" can copulate with itself. There are still logical reasons against flavor claiming. I've named one or two.
Well, anyway, since you asked, I think it's bloody stupid.
And things just got weird when Carrot revealed he was a furry (not that there's anything wrong with that)
@Lambda: I'm taking Carrot's join date into consideration for his misguidance. It's suspicious, but not completely scummy yet.
HOWEVER!
Carrot, link a game where a flavor claim has broken the game that you've participated in.
@Lambda: I also disagree that knowing the "character" of a person is useless in mafia. It's a subtle help, in my opinion.
@Carrot: Answer her questions.
@Carrot: Answer her questions and explain why LambdaDelta is scummy enough to warrant you voting her.
@Lambda: OMGUS is a silly concept and a buzz word.
I expect this to be interesting ^-^."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I want him to explain first before I come to that conclusion. To be fair, spelling it out could actually be better, at least while OMGUS is still overused and misapplied in most cases. Spelling it out makes you think about what you wanted to say. This is never a bad thing."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

It's possible his...misunderstanding of the situation regarding flavor is a result of inexperience.
Though I just noticed his join date was 2007, and I was actually going off of his title of "Goon"
I feel silly now. Still, implies he has less mafia experience then he should."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, that's why I'm asking the questions I am, LL. I prefer to hunt scum, not the easiest person to pin a lynch to.

I make it fairly obvious I have an older account. And actually, I think join date/post amount here does matter. If you've played off site, you should very well know the style of play here is different. Some things are acceptable in other places that'd never fly here, and vice versa.
What I'm trying to determine if it's one of those or if he's, as LL says, blowing out his ass."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, as I said, I am contributing the threat of my pressure. If his next post isn't an answer I shall make good on that ^-^.
As for his scumminess, I think that I need my requests answered before I can certainly determine his intent. I'm sure you know a lot about certainty, right?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, the trick is making him reasonably explain "his way". When it's not in all caps and done point by point, some things make a lot of sense. So I just force him to put his cases like that if he wants me to cooperate. If he's town he will.

K, carrot is scum guys. I want him lynched within the next two pages.
Unvote, Vote carrot
@Lambda: Oh yeah. Usually people are a *little* less blatant about the whole not answering questions thing though.
@andrew: Already told you, it'd be highly unusual if scum DIDN'T have fakeclaims. I can link you my entire flavored modding history if you want proof. I can also link a fair number of games where scum have had fakeclaims if you want further proof.
@TL: Maybe you haven't asked properly, or maybe I caught him in a good mood. At any rate, I know my first game here was a trainwreck both because I was terrible at mafia and because the style of play here was significantly different.
@Drench: Why the HoS instead of a vote?
@Drench: Shit did you just invoke club rule number two!?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@TL: But he has 96 posts on here. Either he lurks a lot (which is not implied by this game), or he's had minimal MS experience, play wise.
@Drench: Regardless, I'm curious why you think you'll have success where we haven't. Also, it's always play to win, IIRC."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

We got one page left, people.
Anyway, Zodiark just went zoom up the scummy list for the reasons SpyreX stated. The whole "OH, if it's anSK" thing makes it SO much worse. SO SO much worse.
andrew is also not looking great.
Elaborate on your vote. Now.
Carrot continues to not make a whole lot of sense but still manages to not answer questions. Quite happy to see him dead."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I was playing along, but I see no reason to not answer the question if Lambda is serious. I just think more purpose would be served if she confirmed her seriosity before I proceeded.
Is there any way such an answer would further the goals of scum?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I still can't tell if you are serious. You go in one direction and then the other direction contradicts it.
I'll answer, to be sure. Carrot is fairly obviously scum. If we did, by some chance, have a dayvig to shoot him in the face, it would save us a lynch and allow us to go after Zodiark with that much more efficiency.
On the off chance Carrot is town, we'd still have the majority of the day to assess what needs to be done while losing about half as much tempo as we lose from a mislynch.
Now, presuming you were serious, why do you ask ^-^?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Why am I still voting Rena, SpyreX? As well as Carrot? I don't think I have two votes ^-^.
Anyway, I figured that was what you were driving at, it's just the way you posted that one way and then when SpyreX pointed it out you changed gears...without changing your post was weird.
Not scummy weird per se, but weird weird. I don't think I have enough data to make anything of it yet though."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, Zodiark was ridiculous. So ridiculous I'm almost in disbelief. First jester speculation and then saying it's fine if carrot were an SK? Why is it not worth the risk to lynch mafia, but is to lynch an SK? That doesn't make sense from a town point of view.
But, to so boldly say something like that doesn't jibe with scum either. It's confusing, really. Hopefully he'll provide some clearer signals.
andrew bugs me as well. His contributions have been sub par.
Out of curiosity, who is this Tumescence? I've never heard of him. This is not a good sign.
As far as I know, the rest of them haven't pinged me either way."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

That does make sense...on the surface.
But turn the chessboard over a little. Carrot was clearly going to the gallows at that point. Why would Zodiark scumbuddy with Carrot scum speak out so vehemently when it was obviously going to draw attention to him? ESPECIALLY with jester speculation?
I think I'd actually be *more* suspicious of Zodiark if, say, heknewcarrot was town!"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

And I like it when scum don't think I'm important. It means they won't NK me .
SpyreX has also covered many of the things wrong with your defense ^-^.

Alright, here's the thing, your points aren't. They are obfuscated in this wall of meandering, so even if you have a point, it's lost.
If you could restate each of your points with bullets, I'd be more receptive to answering them, if they exist.
One bullet per point, no meandering, no games. What the hell are you trying to say?
As for Zodiark, I'm still trying to figure him out. Your point sounds like my initial reasoning, but you haven't moved past it yet like the rest of us have. While I see your point I still say there's enough incongruity so we need more data."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

But you've also jabbed at Spyrex and LambdaDelta, who are guilty of much the same things I am. But you focus on them without a thought to me. That's odd.
@Carrot cut: Then you're of no use to me. I've read your posts. I have no idea what the hell you are saying. I DO know that you aren't answering Lambda's questions. Nor do you have any reasoning for doing so. Logical reasoning rather. Your latests posts don't even try to defend yourself, merely use numbers to scare us, which is really a rather terrible defense. I'd like to think maybe, just maybe, you just post in a bad way that obfuscates your points, and if you put everything out clearly things will make sense. Your refusal to do so does not assist you.
Also, this should have gone with the last post.

To be fair, that's rather old meta Lambda . And yeah, I got lucky, but I was still able to utilize it. I personally like my second inquisitor victory better. It was less dramatic but I never even got touched.
And, no, Riceball wasn't robbed of jack shit. He is a detriment to ANY team he is on, and a displeasure to play with. He doesn't play mafia, he plays idiocy.
Quite simply, he should have claimed rolecop the minute he had the read and gotten me lynched before I got momentum.
@CArrotcake: The main things I want you to do is A) Restate your position on flavor
B) Restate your cases on Lambda and SpyreX, and anyone else you have a case on
C) State why we should lynch you from a behavioral perspective.
Is that clear enough? I reserve the right to add to this but I can't think of anything immediately."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I ended up using red truth in quite a few games after that because it was so much fun.

Is that truly your answer carrot? How is it pro town for you to be willfully misunderstood? Even if the person reading it is "incompetent", is it not pro town to clarify so that you aren't mislynched, as you claim this will be? What do you gain by insulting us and refusing to comply with reasonable requests?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."
