Hello. My name is Data, and I am an android. I have created some programming within my positronic brain which I believe will allow me to interact and catch the anti-town players in this game of Mafia. Please note that I am not designed to be capable of human emotion, and therefore any attempt to arouse emotion from me will, unfortunately, be futile.

I have studied the subject of Mafia and I do believe the proper course of action at this time is to initiate a random stage of votes and inquiry.
Since the mod has stated that votes will not count at this time
, I will
instead
open with a few questions.

How would you describe your meta?
Is there an alignment you prefer to play as?
Do you have previous experience with any of the players here?

These questions are open to any and all who would choose to answer them.

-

Upon refreshing the page, I find Friend and Jack to be exhibiting town behaviour.

##vote: drmyshottyizsik

I find scum intent in his vote on Jack. Why, drmyshottyizsik, would you not want town to attempt to scumhunt as early as possible? Why do you believe the town must wait until the day begins?

((Hi. As I've said in my sig, this is a roleplaying alt. Data is a Star Trek - TNG character, in case you are not nerdy enough to know that already. I just thought I'd clarify that. If I feel the need to say something out-of-character, it will be within a set of double parentheses. I don't expect to do that much. Also, no, I'm not telling who my main is. Don't bother asking.

PREVIEW EDIT: My internet failed for so long that the game started by the time I was able to get it working again. Thus the strike-outs.))
Could you please continue the petty bickering? I find it most intriguing.

Not bothering to do the roleplaying thing anymore, for the most part. Too lazy.

I have only just arrived, sir. Your insinuation that I was intending to not post is inaccurate.

Friend (post 73):

I am quite the fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It seemed appropriate to post a picture of myself dressed as his character Sherlock Holmes in a forum about logic, mystery and deduction.

Perhaps you would prefer to see a larger picture.

Or one of me with my cat.

While I was searching through my picture library it appears that drmyshotty arrived at L-1. I do not believe a quicklynch is advisable at this time.

While drmyshottyizsik has a 85.7 percent likelihood of being scum according to my calculations,* I do believe it is best to wait until everyone is accounted for and their reactions are analyzed. There are two players who have not even confirmed, much less posted.

((*I pulled this number out of my ass based on how likely I think shotty is to be scum. Unfortunately I do not possess any complicated algorithms for the purpose of finding out who the scum are most likely to be. That would be pretty awesome, though :D))

According to the theories I have studied, being aware of how a player perceives their own town meta can aid in discovering what is, for them, a null tell. For example, if a player from very early on admits that they value their own survival over winning or losing, that self-professed behaviour can be scrutinized later if they become a leading lynch. If I know who you are familiar with from the very beginning, I can more easily differentiate between null friendliness and scummy buddying. Furthermore, a player who indicated extreme self-absorption with how they are perceived would be quite possibly scum. I was also hoping to "break the ice", as some say.

Unfortunately, my endeavours were largely unsuccessful.

I have completed a read-through of all players in isolation.

My conclusions are that Friend, Jack, RedCoyote, and HC are all most likely town.

I am town.

I am crossing the two recent replacers off my list as null for the moment.

By process of elimination, that leaves:

2. yabbaguy
8. Robbnva
10. drmyshottyizsik
11. Scott Brosius

At this time, I find that most of my suspicions are directed at yabbaguy. He has been able to post more than some and yet many of his posts contain a lack of substance. drmyshottyizsik remains a top suspect, however I do not believe there is much information to be gained by continuing to vote for him at this time. The remaining scum lies in Robbnva (for reasons others have clearly stated) or Scott Brosius, or one of the replacers. Upon close analysis it is more likely that one of the replacers is scum than Scott, but that could change once they start posting.

Observation I completely missed: Data actually never dwelled on why shotty, despite being in the not-confirmed-Town list he bullshitted, isn't scum. I also notice that he was somehow afraid of him being quickhammered. He unvotes, then immediately takes shotty's side and implies "who do you think is scum?". My mind is spinning trying to decipher why he asked that question, and I'd like him to clarify that.

@Data: Please clarify "that".
This is a clear misrepresentation of my actions. I have never said I think drmyshottyizsik is town, only that a quicklynch is inadvisable at this time. There is, of course, more than one scum, and while there is pressure on one likely scum I believe my vote is best placed on another. My question to him regarding who the scum were was in response to post 113:
I really did mis read it, I'm on heavy drugs and I still don't see why I'm getting mislynched so quickly. Some real good scum are behind this
drmyshotty:

Who on your wagon do you believe to be scum?
-
@Data: Yabbaguy is a wrong vote IMO. Show me specific examples of his scummy behavior.
Also why do you think RC is town, cause I really don't.
Deliberate misrepresentation is fresh on my circuits at this time. When I initially voted him it was more a comment on his poor post-to-content ratio and a relative lack of townliness than because I found him to be actively scummy. With his reaction, I surmise that there is something more concrete to go on.

RC is town because disagreeing with you does not automatically make one scum. He has taken an unpopular stance and argued it sufficiently, whereas I suspect scum would be more likely to go along with the crowd and avoid the spotlight at this point in time. If it makes it easier to understand, consider it an android's version of a "gut tell". I have done the necessary calculations and come to the conclusion that RC is more likely to be town than random chance would indicate.

Jack wrote:It took red like 20 minutes to write that post by the way. Ignore his excuses. We can deal with him tomorrow.
An astute observation.

I still have mixed feelings about quicklynching in general. However, in light of shotty's flip, Robbnva is, I believe, the best lynch for today and I am willing to listen to Jack this time around.

Shall I hammer? Or would HC prefer I wait to see if RC responds? (If so, I have some re-reading to attend to; it seems my read on yabba was incorrect.)

This game was fun, but next time I'd actually like to experience the special mechanic (and/or be scum).
