Alright here we go:
Page 1:
Random votes blah blah blah
Tazaro's play disturbs me. Is there a reason other than 'for the lulz' for making so many random votes?
Why?jason wrote:So, where is everyone else?I look forward to a bandwagon on either myselfor Tazaro.....
Wtf is this?taz wrote:and GhostWriter, make me vote for you for an actual reason.
Current suspicions: Jason or Taz.
Page 2:
More randomness.
Tazaro 'considers himself a dive-in player.' How does this help town?
xReckonerx leaves RVS with serious vote on Travis. Why is his use of the word 'constant' bad?
Jason doesn't see the 'other people' mentioned by the mod, but makes a good post interrogating Taz.
Reckoner's defense of Taz is noted.
What's that? Obvious buddying is obvious.taz wrote:we share a characteristic in common...
This is just horrible. You admit to trying to find things that make him scummy. Sounds to me like scum is trying to find someone to lynch, as opposed to town trying to get a read.taz" wrote:I told him to make a slip-up if he's scum becauseI tried to find scumminess about himbut it wasn't happening at that point.
Jason questions Tazaro. Leaning more towards town on Jason.
Tazaro is still random voting for reactions. Wtf.
What is this? Do I see someone using threats to get people not to vote for them? Interesting...ghostwriter wrote:All I know is that you had better not start tunneling on me just because my name has Ghost in it. Because it'll be a huge scumtell for me against you, and I'll probably call for your lynch due to it.
Current suspicions: Reck/Taz scumteam, or Ghostwriter/someone else
Page 3:
mallowgeno throws a random vote and vanishes. Be useful or die.
Taz starts trying to argue that his OMGUS wasn't serious. Excuses, excuses.
Scott has a decent point against Travis, but I don't think Travis' opinion is motivated by a scum role.
Reck unvotes with no explanation. I'm not liking this.
Reck says Mallow is town. At first I think Jason is taking Reck too seriously...but then Reck actually backs up his opinion. Yeah no, 'too scummy to be scum' is not a defense.
Tazaro makes his first protown action of the day by asking Scott about the wagon thing. Scott isn't influenced.
Suspicions: Same as above. Neutral read on Mallow.
Page 4:
Zang posts his opinion about RVS wagons...and nothing else. See what I said yesterday about mallow.
Tazaro continues the discussion (which is completely pointless) and despite bringing up Zang's lack of posting, doesn't bother to ask him his opinions. OK.
Taz makes his second protown action of the day by saying he thinks Scott is scummy. Not sure if I agree, I think Scott-town has acted similarly before(yay meta).
That doesn't make him town though. Reck's defense of Scott looks like coaching Taz.
Reck brings up a good point about Travis' wishy-washiness. Vote for Reck and maybe I won't be as suspicious of you, Travis.
d3x asks questions but gives no answers. Do not want.
Bloodcovenent makes his first failpost (and I was so hoping you'd act townie...). Zang? Wtf? I don't agree on the RVS wagon, and BC doesn't even comment on the wishy-washy thing. Why? Cautious scum despite the fact that he just admitted to making a similar claim as town in another game? Yeah no. This is bandwagoning.
Suspicions: BC, Reck, Taz, Travis...damn, this list is growing too big.
Page 5:
I didn't see Scott's vote as a bandwagon vote, I saw it as him voting for someone with a different opinion than him. Overreacting much?
Taz starts to look less scummy with good point on Zang...and then fails with his post on Travis. Nice try.
BC seems very aggressive, but does have a good point. Newbie defense only works so much.
But then I notice...oh yeah...Travis didn't use the newbie defense. He used the "I played like this in a game as town so it's not scummy" defense. One completed game is still a meta, even if it is weak evidence.
BC and Taz get into a stupid argument because BC doesn't realize that Taz was referring to Travis playing the newbie card, not BC.
Scott wins townie award of page 5.scott wrote:Why don't you just vote him?
Why does Scott ask about you doing something that looks scummy? Wtf?taz wrote:I want to ponder whether I can see BloodCovenent's doing that stuff as a townie. And why do YOU ask, Scott?
Tazaro's posts just get more and more confusing. I dunno what defenses he's making now, but it just looks scummy (ad-lib? wtf is that?)
Suspicions: Not much change from yesterday, although BC's aggressiveness disturbs me. Travis is either panicking/flailing town or scum,
can't tell which.
Page 6:
The "it was a joke" defense only works so much.
Did I not promise content by the end of the day? Unlike your posts, this one is more than a few sentences.I see U XScorpion. Browse and assimilate the info.
If Zang is actually here though and not posting then that increases my suspicion of him.
Anyway, it's time to vote.
Vote: Tazaro-

@Taz:
Irrelevant sexuality is irrelevant. I still see buddying.
I don't like your continuing use of "if you're scum," and you are using it a lot. WIFOM is not pro-town.
By the way, any reason you aren't voting someone?
@BC: Do you seriously think Zang is more likely to be scum than the rest of non-Travis town?-

You obviously think Travis is scum, I'm just wondering why you think Zang's scummier than everyone else (not including Travis).
What about his two posts says that he's scummier than mellow, who voted randomly, or Vibebox/me, who didn't post at all, or Taz who has been very suspicious, or Reck who looks like he's buddying?-

xRECKONERx, looking forward to seeing you!"constant"?
Unvote; Vote: Coach Travis
Not a random vote.
It's more of Reckoner's buddying of you than vice versa.Mmm, no. Scott's town too. Let's keep trying.
Reckoner seems nice because he is buddying you, just like Jason seems irritating because he is voting for you. See what's going on here?
If I had to take a guess at a scumteam, you're right, I'd think it's you and Reckoner. I'm not setting anything up: this team looked obvious to me from the moment you guys started acting so friendly towards each other. See my post regarding day 2.-

Hmm, more wishy-washy behavior and WIFOM from Taz.
Yeah, I like my vote.
@Ghostwriter: I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying that the way you phrased your response sounded like a threat. If I was in your position, I wouldn't have said anything about Taz looking for reasons to vote me...if he started tunneling, that means he's likely scum. If he doesn't tunnel, then you have nothing to worry about.-

This was basically the scummiest thing I could find...he posts lots of reads, but doesn't vote, and gives more town reads than scum reads. Wishy-washy behaviour is scummy.Coach Travis wrote:I didn't like Scott's vote on me too much, but I don't think he's scummy. I know my stance on the one issue isn't particularly common. However, the way xRECKONERx twisted my one post around like that, doesn't sit too well with me. He's getting a scummier read right now, Taz is predictably calming down a bit and I don't find him scummy at the moment.-

Why?
Are you going to bother actually, I dunno, commenting on the game state, or are you just gonna keep throwing out random and unfounded accusations?
At this point, the only way I could see unvoting you is if a) you get replaced, b) someone else does something so unbelievably scummy it's ridiculous (e.g. claiming scum) or c) You bother to make a post like I did when I first entered the game, discussing your views on who is scummy and what for and what you think of everything that's happened in this game [This is the option I would prefer you to choose].-

From wiki:
He began as the antagonist during the second and third seasons, but in subsequent seasons, becomes something of an uneasy ally to the main characters; even so, however, throughout the series, he is persistently characterized by spontaneous coldblooded actions and the shroud of moral ambiguity.-

Appeal to emotion. From the wiki:Sorry, could you explain what AtE is? I've never heard of that before.
An appeal to emotion is a particularly devious sort of fallacious argument, particularly in a game of unknowns such as Mafia. "If you lynch me, you'll lose!" is an easy example, but there are many others, played by both/all Factions in most games at some point. The nature of the game lends itself to appeals to fear or hope or trust.-

Just because you missed RVS doesn't make it appropriate to jump into it now :/Vote: Reck
You know why.
The 'too scummy to be scum' argument doesn't fly with me.Reading through Taz in ISO, I can't really find any specific examples, because he wasn't a very good player, but just the way he was acting seemed town to me. First off, he was saying way too much to be scum, way too much, and it all seemed genuine as well, not trying to hide anything.-

'Too scummy to be scum' is not an argument and I'm seriously considering voting the next person I play with who tries to push that bs. If mallow isn't willing to contribute content, then he deserves to die, period. I don't believe in drowning myself in WIFOM trying to distinguish bad players from scum players. Townies should post content, scumhunt, and generally try to be useful. A lack of motivation to do these things is purely scummy, as town has absolutely no reason not to try as hard as possible to catch scum or at the very least, help the rest of town identify who is scum.sotty wrote:Most of his pressure is focused on the weaker players of the group and it tends to be pretty bad pressure.
I see Mallow as scum because he simply shows a lack of willingness to contribute. I don't need him to make a post as long as mine was, but at the very least he could make a post like:
"I think so and so is scummy because:
i think what's his face is scummy because:"
etc.
But we haven't gotten this from him. All we've gotten is short quips about things that get no explanation and barely help anyone understand what's going on in his mind. I'll unvote him as soon as I get a clear indication of what he thinks about the game thus far, but as you said, such a post is unlikely to come, so I don't see why I should let him live. I don't even mind if it's not a 'page-by-page breakdown' - I'm just asking for a post like the one you just made. The closest I have to this is ISO 7, which is pathetic.
It wouldn't, but the replacement is almost definitely more likely to be give clear thoughts on the game, which might convince me that his slot isn't just trying to coast along through the game. Why would mellow getting replaced change your scum read?-

It's only misrepresenting if he's actually town. Do you know this for a fact?ghost wrote:like misrepresenting Tazaro
The 'defense' I just posted is longer than any post Mallow has made in the entire game. What do you have to say to that?ghost wrote:In fact, he mentions Mallow's "short quips", ignoring that he himself does that quite often, while using quotes to make the posts seem larger than they are.
And I think both are scummy. My case against his play isn't WIFOM, it's as simple as "he is not helping town therefore he is scummy." Do you think people who don't help town are scummy or not? Taz acted scummy too, but at least LMP has provided a decent amount of content such that I don't think he is the best lynch for the day.ghost wrote:He tries to dismiss WIFOM, but that's really all the case he has against Mallow's play comes down to. Mallow is about as townie as Taz was, just on the opposite end of the spectrum.
So basically (forgive me if I paraphrase this incorrectly), you think I'm scum because mallow had a scummy reaction to a vote on him and I'm trying to lynch him because I think he's scum, as opposed to voting for you because you've been almost as useless as him in this game (the only difference being that you overreacted to be threatened with a vote, whereas he overreacted to getting one vote, and you at least decided to give a reasonable explanation for your vote [the first one you've made in the game so far, wtf btw] before you made it). If it really makes you feel better I'll vote for you, but I'm not convinced you're scum.ghost wrote:Truth be told, there's a stronger case against me made by you that would be a better basis for a continued vote, but I think you've stuck with Mallow so long due to the reaction he had to a single vote, which allowed for a lot of supporting of his lynch, making it easier on you to simply nitpick at him to try to garner the rest of the support needed to lynch him.
Also what happened to this?
Was his claim really that effective at convincing you he is town? Why are you so ready to believe him?ghost wrote:However, Mallow, you damn sure aren't helping anything by all of this. Either actually defend yourself, start listing FoS's that aren't seemingly only based on OMGUS, or kindly announce that you are mafia and give up the correct way instead of this floundering that has me thinking you as town rather than mafia.-

La la la...
Absolutely nothing. Assuming town wasn't useless, someone would eventually realize 'hey wait a sec d3x is tunneling xscorpion for an argument that is completely stupid.'If I said that scorpions were by nature an evil creature and started tunneling you for it, what would you do?
Exactly. I was the non-useless town in the above example who realized 'hey wait a sec taz is tunneling gw for an argument that is completely stupid.' The thing is, GW's reaction wasn't the same reaction I would make (do nothing), which made me suspicious. Taz still looks worse for it though, hence why I voted him.You said it yourself when you pointed out Taz's fishing for a case on GW.
You don't have to answer questions to post content lol. Your questions were good, but you didn't really clarify where you stood on the issue of who you thought was scummy. It's pretty obvious now though, so I feel better. What questions was I asked that I couldn't answer? Mostly my post that you are refering to had to do with calling out players not really commenting on the game. I felt that there was a lot of static and coming from some people. I also feel like the response I got from CT was worth the question, even if it took a week+ to make anything of it.
P.S. So far Travis' hate on reckoner was due to misrep, so I find it sort of odd that the 'buddying' argument that I used came out of nowhere...-

Oh. Now I know who Sotty is ^_^
Also, in reference to Gonzo...are you talking about the Pied Piper role? Because that's one shot. Mallow never said his ability was one-shot.
OK, this whole BC thing is completely dependent on how Mallow's role works.
@Mallow: Just to be clear - you can choose to roleblock all non-scum each night, and when you get lynched (or nightkilled? please specify), all non-scum are roleblocked the next night. Is this true? Also is your ability to choose to roleblock everyone one-shot or not?-
