This is shaping up to be a hilarious game. I'm quite interested in seeing where SP vs. Llama goes and expect to have a good read on at least one of them soon ^-^."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

See, as it stands I'm leaning more scummy on you, SP. But you're just this guy, see, and you always are scummy. So, a little more arguing should help me figure out if you are crazy awesome town SP or disruptively annoying scum SP. Fortunately, I have a lot of scum SP to look at. Seems you draw scum a lot."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Unfortunately, I lack any relevant commentary at this time. I know, shocking from me. So far I'm still seeing how things are playing out, and can't really add anything. So, rather than raise the noise I guess I figured I'd see if I'd eventually get something to comment on.
And yeah, I'd probably jump off the mod if a serious wagon formed. Usually mod lynches aren't great."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I generally find mod meta to be more reliable than playing meta. You've watched them the entire game, knowing their alignment, and how they interacted with others, as opposed to a player who only gets half the story until they flip.magnus_orion wrote:

@Mango: He is, but he's catchable. I've seen it done. There's something different that I haven't put my finger on yet.
@Amished: You mean SPisn'talways like this?
You do, however, have quite a good point on SP being an utter douchiot right now (It's a portmanteau of douchebag and idiot. You like it?)
@SP: It really reads the way Amished laid it out. You are saying that Mango's point is invalid because Nik didn't bring it up, and...I don't see why that matters?
@SK: That's about the same reason I'm not voting him. Like, I want to say he's scum SP at the moment but I don't feel it completely. He is, however, making an utter ass of himself.
@Amished: You are, however, strawmanning SP's scumhunting "style", can it be called that. He's not indicating that his acting outrageous and getting votes will catch scum. It's just that his acting outrageous is a by product of his scumhunting.
Or so I heard.
@Amished: How do you know? That's quite an odd statement to make. We don't KNOW who is scum in this game, and whether SP is attacking the scums or not. So why is it more likely he'd stick a fork in a light socket than catch scum, without anyone, except scum, having knowledge of who the scum are?
@Spy: Yeah, that kinda bugged me to as you can see above.
@SPS: Ok.
@Amished: Why do you believe SPS? How do you know Llama is scum? I cede you know your own alignment, but lately, your posts have VERY MUCH given off a knowing more than you should vibe. The thing with SPS adds to that.
Either way, not like Amished at this time."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Unvote, Vote Amished
Why aren't you scumhunting? Why are you going for "easy targets". That really aren't. You're not looking for actually scummy, you're looking for textbook scummy to see what shit you can get past us. Add that to knowing too much, and for the time being I'm pretty sure you're scum.
@Amished: No, seriously, actually scumhunt. It was pretty obvious it was fake to me, even before the mod gave it away. Again, how does what SPS did at all benefit scum again? Especially with something as obviously silly as what he proposed his action was?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Clearly we approach things differently, though I'm not convinced you are exactly being honest, of course.
Town is stupid. I have come to this conclusion recently. But town is always going to do something fucktarded that makes you want to
them. Invariably. So, instead of looking for things that make sense as town (though sometimes I will use things that make sense as town to feel good about someone), I look for things that make sense as scum. What SPS did makes not very much sense as scum, because of LAL and the fact it drew attention to him. The obviousness of the fakery also adds to the "Why would scum bother?" thing.
Now, this isn't an irreversible read, but your attacks on SPS read as opportunistic scum at this time."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Mango has brought up points I think I briefly thought of and then forgot.
And hell, if I were feeling playful enough I'd probably call a player out on lying (probably with their permission).
Mostly depends on the nature of the game. And this game is clearly one of don't have any expectations.
And see Picto Mafia II where I thought I was oh so super clever and town was dumb, and it turns out we were all fucktards. So, I certainly don't exempt myself from the stupid pills .
Rest assured, deep down inside, I think you're all fucktards.
So, assuming that I expect nothing due to the nature of the game, what then, Amished?"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Spy: Took me an hour to make that damn animooted gif. Did it awhile ago though. I finally was having enough mafia situations where it would get extensive use.
Either way, I don't mind lol reactions but I prefer to have it somewhat explained, which would indeed be nice from SPS."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Amished: See, the problem is, you are using an LAL rhetoric in probably the one case where it DOESN'T actually work. SPS is a derp lynch, and I know you are smarter than that, Amished.
It's obvious that SPS doesn't have scum intent behind his day protect. You still haven't adequately explained how SPS had scum intent, and have now fallen back on "Well townies don't lie >=["
This doesn't work 100% of the time. And this is a case where I think it's more obvious it is, at worst, a null tell."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Well, lol reactions is basically what I figured SPS was doing it for. And lol reactions, in my experience, is actually a slight town tell.
The fact that it also does very little to absolutely nothing to further any scum agenda also makes it...not scummy. Anti town maybe because it's stupid, but not scummy.
And I feel your attacks aren't genuine, and you are defending a doomed stance because you've been backed into a corner.
In other news, maybe I'm just jaded because I've been in two games where a townie has claimed scum for no apparently reason. Well, the second time was SEMI justified but still "what?"
I've also only seen scum do lol reactions once, IIRC, and town do it three or four times.
As I said, it's a slight town tell to a null tell, but the fact that people are actually attacking him for it definitely raises my eyebrows."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Please, I want to hear about this.Amished wrote: I've played with SPS a couple times and I don't recall him ever doing something like this so it was out of character for him. Besides, what possible reactions would a protect actually garner? Did he expect scum to come out and say "oooo, I guess we can't kill him now, can we?"? I don't think so. The claim doesn't make sense for "lolreactions" nor does lying about it in the first place, nor does it fit my perception of SPS-town."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

As I thought, you'd excuse it as something different.

So, Amished. It is June 9th, right?
Sykedoc wrote: Did I mention the deadline was the 23rd at 11:59pm?
So...you just want to be lynched now, hypothetically as town, despite there being 14 days left in the day? Why?
It's frustrating to be attacked as any alignment, sure. But if you're really getting that irritated, step away from the game for a few minutes.
Now, we'll just ignore how fucking hypocritical I'm being, k ^-^?
Anyway, so, you recall that 12th ??? guy? Do you think he might have been the one who deflated SPS' fakeprotect?
As I said, it was kinda obvious, and if I had the powers that we are assuming ??? ha...
OH HEY, I DID ONCE DIDN'T I!!!
And hey, didn't I abuse them to get things done using the voice of the mod? Hey, I wonder if that could be occurring here!"Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Amished: inconsistency != necessarily scummy. In fact, inconsistency means you aren't trying to keep track of a story/lies in some cases. This is not to say that consistency is a scumtell, but merely that inconsistency isn't always. It all goes back to scum intent.
So he's retarded scum, supposedly. Why? His action probably hurts him more as scum than it does as town, actually. Without a scum motivation, even one that fell flat, I don't understand the SPS attack.
If I missed it, you can link back/quote it and I'll reassess it.
At any rate, I explained your scum motivation. SPS is quite an easy attack to make on the grounds of derp LAL. You went for it, and it backfired. However, had we not been using our brains, it would have been easy to get that mislynch on a stupid townie. Well, in your view.
Mango also addresses that aspect of your scum intent far more elegantly than I did."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Amished: Mostly it just occured to me. I think the "points" are a hidden player's doing.
Now, you see, this is where we diverge. Just because it's stupid for town doesn't make them scum. You basically are claiming guilty until proven innocent, which is a lot easier for scum than town, IMO.
Ok, the problem with your scum motivations for SPS is that...they don't logically work. You are proposing that SPS was planning to seriously mean his day protect action, which, btw, would not get much town cred on it's own, since it's kinda stupid to publicly protect someone that way, and that he was planning to pass off Llama not dying, less than a week into D1, as his game.
Ok, you know what? I don't know what's wrong with it, except it feels really contrived and overall silly, and Occam's Razor really seems to be screaming at such an explanation, I think.
Oh, and suppose a day vig had appeared and shot Llama? Do you think scum would value a townie of indeterminate power high enough to trade their own life for? Because SPS would be an obv lynch after that. Well, I think he would be. Hard to tell.
Meh, I'm not sure. All I know is you were previously giving me scum vibes and your SPS attacks don't help."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

I disagree no reactions have occured, but I really wanna hear SPS elaborate on that, I agree.
The thing is, once the vig happened (if anyone were that stupid), SPS would be getting lynched no matter what he said.
I mean, I guess I see what you are saying, I just don't feel it is true.
Call it gut. I feel like SPS' intentions were obvious, and you're trying to muck up the waters and see if you can get him lynched.
I can't justify this very well though. I still think your earlier behavior is worthy of keeping my vote on you."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Gut. RC's attack feels more townie like. Amished feels more opportunist. It's the way the words flow.
Amished, I've pointed this out. I can't be arsed to do it again but it's in my ISO. I think it was the llama read for no apparent reason.
Or something. Yes, I'm aware Llama has done a read on me, but I also feel that I come off easily as town. Llama may or may not. Meh, maybe I do have to go and check..."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Amished: Fucking amazing.
It's a Japanese Visual Novel (and horrible anime that I like to pretend doesn't exist). Sorta a murder mystery except...not.
Have you seen horrible anime before? If you think Umineko is "horrible" you have awfully high standards.
UncertainKitten gains a point for use of ludicrous standards as criteria of judging Japanese animation."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

@Amished:The author uses gold text
Look, I think my role willnoteventually interact with the red and blue text.
In Umineko, blue text was used to propose theories for how the murders occured, and red text was used to provide "truth" when it wasn't apparent from the scenario, to put it simply.
I don't think they correlate that strongly here."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Ok...so what was the "I WAS RIGHT" thing about? Did I miss something?
Also, not sure I like "I really wanted to find a reason to vote you, UK" from RC. It speaks of a mindset that's not looking for scum but personal targets. Not sure why me, since I'm not that easy to lynch, but whatever.
I do think that RC correctly called out Amished and SK on suspicious behaviors and no real misrep was involved. In fact, if there's any misrep, it's Kerrigan on RC."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

Either way, when I did notice it the phrasing of his attack read more town at the time. His later posts are not reinforcing that town trend.

I have watched, FULLY, the entire anime, AND read up to Episode 5 (i.e., all of the anime + the first part of Kai) of the visual novel.UncertainKitten wrote:@Amished: Fucking amazing.
It's a Japanese Visual Novel (and horrible anime that I like to pretend doesn't exist). Sorta a murder mystery except...not.
Have you seen horrible anime before? If you think Umineko is "horrible" you have awfully high standards.
UncertainKitten gains a point for use of ludicrous standards as criteria of judging Japanese animation.
I know what I'm talking about. The Umineko anime is a pile of low quality trash. Hell, even the animation quality is low. They also cut out SEVERAL important facts that come to light in the Visual Novels. So you know what?
Alpha gets a point for not knowing what the hell he's talking about. Damn whippersnappers!
