It could be a game (almost) filled with post restrictions that don't actually affect the content, but the placement of the posts.UncertainKitten wrote:I totally want to put a "Restraining order'd townie" in a game now. I'd need to figure out what precisely the mechanics and the role itself would be. Probably a tracker or something.
Like you could have another 'stalker' type role that could only make posts specifically only after another specific player has posted.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

The only thing you'd have to be careful of is not have TOO many that have to post in a -very- specific order, or else the game would end up having the exact same players posting in the exact same order always.UncertainKitten wrote:I could make this work, actually.
...And you'd would have to make players GAURENTEE that they WILL NOT FLAKE or are players with a predetermined V/LA schedule. (Those are are always gone on weekends, those that are always gone on weekdays, etc...)
Because if the restrictions are based off of each other, everyone is going to be have to be around to make it work...and make it be a chaotic ninja posting mess (remembers /b/ mafia) to make others purposely break their PR...
Breaking PR should have less game-ended penalties (modkills losing power role abilities), and more of amusing, but still detrimental, penalties.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

Thats so common and overdone though, what happened to originality?UncertainKitten wrote:Losing role abilities WOULD be a penalty for breaking PR, but probably on the third strike instead of the second.
Like for example...if a cop knows their sanity...change it every time they break PR, to an unknown one.
And if they ever figure it out again...and then they break PR again...insanity...Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

I find it easier to attack everyone and see how that turns out, and then after I determine they aren't scum through the psycho-analysis I use while deciphering their responses to me, I can then determine them to be town, and therefor then work with them easier.UncertainKitten wrote:Too bad I mostly disagree SP. It's easier to get scum when you work WITH the town, not against it.
For scum, it is WAY EASIER to have people 'work with you' if they already think you are town.
But by starting at the other end of the spectrum, the perceptions are flipped, and its harder for scum to either actively, or passively, manipulate you.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

I like it when people tunnel on me though.UncertainKitten wrote:I trust myself to figure it out as the game goes on. By starting cooperative, people's tongues are looser and not tunneled. At least that's my take.
Its a two-way street to success: by me attacking people, and by people attacking me, I can determine what I need to for alignments.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

It was filled due to pre/ins!
Which makes it a lot harder to sign up for.

I'm generally not one to pre/in or replace.UncertainKitten wrote:You wanted /in? Hell, just PM me about replacement options as well. I like having a stock since I'm pretty sure two of my players flaked. But I'm not certain.
NOT MY STYLE.
The only game I've ever replaced into was one where the mod PM'd me themselves.
Although I missed out on a recent Tar game for the same reasons.
You can just pre/in me for any game either of you two run ever though.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

These two posts strike me as odd.MilesPrower wrote:Miss Kitty, I want to see where it all goes for a little.

I need to give him time and see where it pans out. It could mean nothing, or it could be an enormous scumpost.
It was like that one time I thought my bunny Chuckles had cancer, but he just had a cold!
I'd like to see some of the other people come back because we are getting lonely and I want to hear from them too
Going out of the way to state that they should be treated as but a single player, and others saying such as well.
But when it comes to the FOS its for a difference reference than what has been used as a name all game, and therefor treating it as a separate entity again even after stating such things weren't going to happen.
A bit of inconsistency, and over stating perhaps as an over-compensation.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

I love when people echo me to build rapport.
It makes for an easy ally to echo my words, and then I can later tear them out and eat them alive when they outlive their usefulness/towniness.
Out-manipulating those that are potential manipulators is like a fun game of cat & mouse. >:3Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

This is terrible.DiscoRoboto wrote:Missing the storm, much? I find it hard to find suspicious stuff between all the pages because there is FLUFF POSTING EVERYWHERE. Please stop that from now on, because I view it as a scumtell instead of a nulltell.
Why?
Because in every game there is 'fluff' everywhere.
It just doesn't stand out as much as is hidden by people pretending to scum hunt.
Finding information here is no harder than any other game.
In fact its easier, BECAUSE of the DELIBERATE FLUFF POSTING.
Also everyone else who says the same things is as bad.
Fishy's attack on Miles is silly.
Dana is indeed looking terrible. With the everything thats been said so far.
This is funny though.danakillsu wrote:seriously? I try to give some real thoughts on the game for the first time and I get votes for it? wow.
People paying attention would know that ED got the same treatment, but for slightly different reasons.
He tried to make a SRS POST and turned out looking terrible for it.
I'm debating switching to Dana, but the Glory that was the Ray post before my vote of him makes it hard to get better than that.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

Meta is fine and great.
But if a player is scummy, then regardless of meta, they should be called out on it.
Those that hide behind their past meta and go "its not scummy when I do it, because I always do this" IS A FALLACY.
Regardless of what they claim.
There are even players on this site that have user based titles showing their ineptitude.
And hide behind it.
Because people fail to realize it is in fact a fallacy.
Scummy is scummy.
Regardless of past actions.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

I'd like a clearer stand that you have on Dana as opposed to the politics that you've presented.

No.
Because going to a single voting title, and saying 'oh hey, that voting title has words, those words could mean something' will lead to nothing.
There is nothing to be gathered from the titles that you can say ANYthing about let alone "I told you so".
Look at the other titles, why no comments on them?
You can't pick and choose them.
You can't pretend a single voting title has meaning and then ignore every other single one.
Perhaps thats just the first one you noticed.
Perhaps you are just insane.
Perhaps fluff is fluff is fluff is fluff.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-

At BEST, I view them as cryptic breadcrumbs.UncertainKitten wrote:You are mostly right. Except for the fact Tar gives mod hints in votecount titles. Sometimes. I wouldn't overanalyze them but there could be valuable information.
That said, "multiple interpretations" appears to be a commentary on the Role PM stuff we are talking about now.
Useless until you know how to decode it, as you rarely even know what to look for.
Which won't be until its too late, after you know everything anyways.
ON THE SUBJECT OF BREADCRUMBS:
I never waste effort hunting breadcrumbs regardless.
Breadcrumbs are for those that have to mask poor play behind a mask 'fore-sight' in order to try and manipulate their own claims.
I almost view the act of breadcrumbing as a scumtell.
Let play dictate validity, not word searches.Aut Tace Aut Meliora Loquere Silentio.-
