I agree with DedicatedScribe's concern at playing with a hydra account. To me, I see it like playing with someone who is constantly replacing out of the game. Plight isn't going to tell us which of the two accounts is making each post, so I think we should end that discussion ON THE CONDITION THAT, as Phlight as promised, we agree to ignore/invalidate any of Plight's posts reading, "I'm not sure what I meant..." or "I think I meant this...." ect.

However. I also agree with Plight's surprise that no one else has really chimed in on this. Granted, RVS is usually the goof-around time before we buckle down and get to work.
So, how does everyone feel about Plight's account and his and/or her prelude to their playing style?

Also,
Totally Vote: totallynotmafia

DedicatedScribe, why are you so concerned about ending the RVS asap? It will figure itself out on its own.

Hmm....DedicatedScribe finally managed to end the RVS. I'm not sure how I feel about the Mason claim. Granted, it's better than VT, it's going to take a little while for me to feel comfortable viewing him as confirmed town.
Also, I don't understand how the title of the story would affect DedicatedScribe's claim....

Phlight wrote:It would be a better idea to invent a heavily cryptic code that he could have the partner explain. An "obvious breadcrumb" which worked decently well in my Death Note game for L. That way, he can claim and not give the mafia information on his partner.
This idea works, but it doesn't confirm his claim. If he was scum his scum partner could work just as well with this to the same effect, except we would believe that the scum were town masons.
I think this would have been better saved for Day Two, after the code/claim.

I don't understand how we could verify that the code was, indeed, correctly deciphered.

I believe StrangerCoug's claim. But, I'm confused about the sudden bandwagon on Panzerjager. While his intentions weren't the best, I think people are justifying their votes on him for the wrong reasons. I read his post 77 as "more people need to pressure him until he claims." Still, not the best thing to do on page 4, but I didn't see it as an explicit call for a claim.
I'm going to keep my vote on TotallyNotMafia for now. He seems a bit trigger happy and that's not sitting well.

I'm completely exhausted from midterms, so I think I need to re-read this a few times to understand the hypoclaim correctly. I will post in the next 18 hours.

And it confuses me because mason is a pr. It's weird for scum to leave a pr alive.
But both of the night kills were power roles. Better for them to leave someone alive who still has suspicion on them.
Also, no one has brought up the two night kills. Is it too early to consider it?

Phates link helped explain the concept of cryptoclaiming, but I think we all still have questions on the "either or" set-up he suggested we use. Is this something that can only be verified after the player is dead? If so, what can we learn about his hypoclaim (assuming he will come up as town)?

Wow. People are going fast in this game.
I suppose I'm for a mass-claim. At this stage in the game it can't hurt anything. The only part that bothers me is the two PR's NK'd N1. In addition to two masons, a hider and a tracker, I'm not sure what other PR's we would have in this game....

Sorry about all the delays and absenses. I have been following the thread and tried to throw in my comments or questions when applicable.
Going over the mass-claim, I think I've figured out the scum. As it stands, we have:

StrangerCoug (Mason) - Country Mouse
Trumpet of Doom (Town) - Little Red Hen
peanutman (Town) - Big Bird
totallynotmafia (Town Vig) - Little Girl from a Sleep Story
lobstermania (Town) - Tawny Scrawny Lion
MacavityLock (Town) - Sam the Firehouse Cat

Things that don't look right to me: peanutman and MacavityLock

Everyone claimed Little Golden Book characters or titles except peanutman, who claimed Big Bird. To me, this looks like a fake-claim. MacavityLock claimed Sam the Firehouse Cat, which is the only claim so far with a mode of transportation in it. I agree with the discussion that mafia kills are more violent (run over), and vig kills would be more discreet.
I think peanutman is scum and made a fake-claim to hide his true title (probably The Good Humor Man). MacavityLock is the other scum, based on his title.

Vote: MacavityLock
