Hi, I'm the replacement.

I need to
Love: malthusis
, right?

What's up with the unanimous town vote in the lynch phase?
Doesn't that guarantee that we start with lynching scum (since a townie will never self-vote)? (And wouldn't that mean auto-win unless the other scum is one or two steps before the lynched scum?)

Hm, do we win if the second scum is second to last? (i.e. when temporarily one scum and one townie are alive?)
I'd think that not, and hence we'd need to find
two
townies in a row?

So all that matters is the last person alive.

Question: All nine townies need to vote for the same guy in order to lynch, right?
So if everyone but A voted A, A would only be lynched if A was scum.

If A isn't lynched, we know he's town and lynch whoever is chained behind A.
If A is lynched, we only lose if whoever is chained in front of him is his buddy.

This seems to be even better than 82%.

What do you mean?
I'm under the impression that scum votes don't do anything.

Here's the relevant quote:

Max wrote:No they work, just you need 9 votes to lynch.
Oh. The "unanimous" made it sound as if all townies had to agree.
Well, then my plan doesn't work.

To me, it seems like he came up with a plan that he knew did not work, but would look to people at first glance like it did work, in order to make himself seem townie.
So it was always crystal clear for you that we need any 9 votes and not 9
town
votes?
Crazy wrote: As far as I can tell from that post, I'm almost positive that "A" is just a random variable and doesn't refer to a specific person.
Yes, it was a variable. Though I was not thinking of using dice for that. More along the lines of "If we're reasonable sure that A and B are not scum together and B is the person that survives if A is lynched, try my plan on A".

Yes...? What are you getting at?
That it wasn't clear for me, mainly because of this:

forbiddanlight wrote:82% is worse than what we might get if we actually...yanno...play mafia. It could be better, but that'd be the fault of bad play. Do you not trust yourself to play well enough to win on your wits rather than dice?
*shrug* This is basically a normal D1, and from my experience D1 lynches are seldom better than random. They're far more useful for the following days (which we don't have, we only have this).

The only information that we do have is who loves who, so I guess the question is whether partners would want to chain themselves together or try to avoid that.

Yes, but I can't see us finding out someone's town with more than 80% certainty either.

I guess we should just get some bandwagon going and see what happens.

9/11 is 0.82, yes. And 9 of 11 possible lynches result in town win.

I do think this game would've made more sense if we had like 3 chains of 4 people each with the current mechanic only applying to the final chain.
