I think the better choice for town is to let both claimed cops live. Mafia knows which one of them is real, and they'll kill accordingly. It also gives both of them more chances to investigate. Not only that, they can more-or-less determine their sanity via successive investigates.

However, this means that we may have to let both of them live for more than one day. This is to shut off the possibility of mafia killing off one (who comes up cop) to throw suspicion onto the second cop for town to lynch. And yes, I am assuming that we have a 2 cop scenario as I find this most likely. If we had a doc, Originality probably wouldn't have died.

For the record, if I had to choose, I would say Panzer is more likely to be the one fake-claiming simply because scotmany12 was hinting at cop far before Panzer was.

I don't see any reason to not believe that we have two cops, frankly. You can say "cops wouldn't breadcrumb this early" all you want, but the fact is that it DOES happen. I think we should look elsewhere.

And d3, Oman had it partially right -- if there are two real cops, scum would likely NK one of them to get the other mislynched immediately; if there is only one real cop, it is unlikely that they would NK him, because it would be giving away one of the scum, essentially for free.

Well there ya go. We let both of them live; if one dies, the other is most likely a cop. If neither dies, one of them is scum.

At first I thought he meant "if he comes up cop (as opposed to coming up scum) then we lynch whoever" but I'm starting to see what you mean. There's no point in him including the possibility of a sane cop, unless he really was scum and scot's investigate was legit.

I'm not so sure I want to keep both cops around, all of a sudden.

In his first couple of posts, when he votes Panzer, he does anyone but hint at cop. Only when he realizes noone is listening to him does he start hinting at power.

Well for one thing, I don't think posts like these really give away as much as you say, and I don't see how scum would interpret this as breadcrumb.

I can see where you're coming from, but I think scum would more see it as a mere guess. I've only been scum once in mafiascum, so I hardly know how exactly scum think. I mean, what's to say that you're not scum, recounting you initial reactions to Scot's posts?
