A GF claim is terrible townie play, because it draws the attention to them, which will likely result in their mislynch.JDodge wrote:
The people who attack the GF claim the most are the scum because (assuming UA is a townie) they know that the person claiming GF is lying.somestrangeflea wrote:
Quoted for epic truth.Hjallti wrote:I still believe however that this claim is very bad town play and certainly anti-town.
I'm way more comfortable with a Flea lynch than a Hjallti lynch to be entirely honest, but I think they're both scum.-

I can see that both thought and logic went into this post.JDodge wrote:You're an idiot and have no concept of how Vengeful should be played.
Onsite, there was a Godfather claim by a Townie. The first person to show disbelief (ie. not voting them) of the claim was the Goon.JDodge wrote:I know from experience - 3 games of Vengeful, all in which there has been a GF claim, one on-site - that it is the most pro-town thing possible.
In this game, the first person to show disbelief of the claim was Hjallti, so I can see your case on him. I don't really support it, but I can see your point.
But, that doesn't show the the claimwasa pro-town thing to do...
I have to apologise though, since I assumed that claiming GF was an attempt to get lynched, so that they controlled the vig, whichisanti-town play. I may have been mistaken...-

I suspect everybody, but for wildly different reasons...
UA, for the claim.
Hjallti, for the reasons stated in my above post.
JDodge, gut.
VH, for not saying very much.
So, uhm, top 2?
UA and Hjallti. I really want to throw JDodge in instead of Hjallti, but I don't know why. I'm very susceptible to OMGUS...
It's a disease really...-

A fair point, but I feel that if someone is scum (which your post seemed to make out was how you thought about UA), then the benefits of lynching a very scummy player would outweigh the possible drawbacks of a quicklynch.Hjallti wrote:As I said a quicklynch is bad for town.
Basically, my point is, if you're sure someone's scum, a quicklynch isn't bad, IMO...
Indeed I did. I simulposted, then went to sleep. When I woke up, my post was still the most recent post, so I assumed there were no replies. I then went to myHjallti wrote:@flea, I find it strange you didn't react to my reaction on your post. Uhm, this may be a bit of a stretch, but is that not an extension of "Too Townie"?VampanezeHunter wrote:1)SSF- Mainly gut feeling but also the fact that he hasn't really been presurised before so it kinda makes me think he is slipping under the radar.
I haven't done anything to place me under pressure, therefore I haven't been pressurized, thereforeI'msuspicious? I don't see how that works...
What you've effectively done is, instead of saying that I'm "Too townie to be town", which is how the "Too Townie" fallacy is normally worded, you've claimed that I'm "Not scummy enough to not be scum"!-

Seriously, WTF? Once again, you're trying to use the BS reasoning of "They aren't acting suspicious, therefore they're suspicious"...VampanezeHunter wrote:
Yes I agree and also look who are the people who are least under suspicion? Flea and Jdodge! Possible scumpair there based on the facts of everybody's top supicions!UltimaAvalon wrote:The only thing that scares me is....what if you're scum, and you're perfectly okay with this, because neither you nor your scumbuddy is in anyway endangered by this plan.
Other than the light case of paranoia, I like it
I'm swapping Hjallti for VH in my pair...-

The plan, as a concept, seems perfectly reasonable, but yeah, not now...JDodge wrote:
I agree, naturally; I just wanted to see if people agreed with the plan.Hjallti wrote:@JDodge
I don't think discussion is over yet. In fact I wanted to chnage my second place suspiocioun to Vamp.
He basically attacks me for not hammering UltimaAvalon, while he can hammer right now and he doesn't.
I don't think that lynching in the middele of discussion is a good thing.
But if you lynch me for the strange plan I will execute vamp with me.
I think that we should keep track of votes (naturally), and "Psuedo-Votes" as a whole. The player who gets a majority of votes first is lynched, and we mutually agree to vig whoever has the most total votes, that is, the total of all votes and pseudo-votes.
I think this system works...-

Pretty much, yeah. Basically, we pseudo-vote (UltimaAvalon wrote:Define pseudo-votes. You mean like FoS's and stuff?Pseudo-vote:XXXXX) the other person in our scum pairings, and when someone does get lynched, if they are a townie, they vig whoever has the most total votes. For the sake of the system, you can't vote and pseudo-vote the same person.-

So? There were still a variety of other ways you could have replied to that...UA wrote:Well thats not fair. I used your words to answer the question cus it was a post addressing more than one point by more than one person. Simply saying "No" at the end would've made ya'll go "....huh?"
1. Quote + "Yes".
2. "SSF, yes".
3. "Yes, SSF."
4. "Oh, and SSF, yes."
And so on...
That just means I'm experienced, not that I'm skilled!UA wrote:I'd kinda like to know why you have to use Google to spot liars though....thought you were an IC
This is the logic I can see...UA wrote:UA, you understand the logic behind the GF-claim gambit, correct?
1. Attempting to draw out the actual "mass disagreeing" scum.
2. Attempting to get lynched D1 to control the vig.
Now, 1 isn't really that strong, and a tad WIFOMy, whilst 2 is bad play in general. Is there a 3rd which I am unaware of?-

Well, I'm more looking forUltimaAvalon wrote:Well, if you've got to know, I did it for both the reasons SSF stated. I know through experience The GF Claim is really great at revealing the scum, and if it went out of control and I died, I would've at least known who to vig. Plus, I do love killing people.
Looking at the game based solely on reactions of the GF Claim, SSF and HJ are textbook scum. However, as I aluded to when I said "You're just mad cus I claimed GF before you did," I know JDodge, if scum, being the Master of Gambits himself, would not have fallen for such an easy trap. So I can really see it going both ways, where HJ and SSF are obv scum, and where HJ is dumb scum, JDodge is smart scum, and SSF is just the ignorant townie who got caught on the wrong side of the trap.
Sorry this took so long. This game disappeared from my Watch ListwhySSF and HJ are textbook scum.-
