I didn't say that omg wasn't suspicious, and I'd like to hear his reasoning for his switch.
However, most people who claim "trying to start a conversation" end up mafia.
You said it was so random it there was no reason to keep it, so you bandwagoned someone else? I don't understand that. The purpose of a random vote is to make it random.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Remember that I've only played Mafia for two months, but I may have been overreacting.I wrote:Because that's about the most scummy thing I've seen in my entire life.
How much time passed? Your post was at 5:00 on a Friday Night. Then there was another post, then your post again at 10:00 on a Saturday Morning. Hardly enough to call a slow game. That's weak reasoning there.Elias wrote:now, my first vote was my random vote. but when i saw that nothing was happening in this game, I switched it in order to get the game going again.
That is a fact. Random votes are there to see how people respond to pressure. Again, only about 17 hours passed in between your votes, and only one post. I don't see why you switched.Elias wrote:If no one switches there vote, then no scum get lynched.
Bandwagons usually do have intent to lynch. Not always, but usually.Elias wrote: if my vote is random, and I dont find who im voting for suspicious, whats wrong with attempting to start conversation by joining a bandwagon, as long as I dont have serious intent to lynch?
its true that you never said OMG wasnt suspicious, but you thats only because you never mentioned him at all.
I don't understand what you're saying here.
Am explaining, not explained. Keep the present and past tenses different from each other.Elias wrote:even though I explained myself.
You are scummy because you jump on a bandwagon and claim that you're only doing it to start conversation and claim the game is going slowly. I'd also like to add that omg didn't jump on a bandwagon, like you did.you never addressed my question as to why you would jump on me but ignore OMG.
I still got my eye on him.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

I started playing at a site other than MafiaScum, and in my experience there, that's what usually happens. It may not be as true here, where the quality of play is 10X better. (Usually massclaim starts Day 2 there)MeMe wrote:I've never heard this before -- where'd you get it?Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Die scum was half a joke.MeMe wrote:He has an interesting habit of overweighting his points (e.g. "die scum" "most scummy thing I've seen in my entire life" and the unsupported "most...end up mafia" sentiment that prompted me to question him). He's certainly worth watching.
The scummy thing was overweighted, but it was true.
Most end up Mafia is true in my experience.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Yeah, but it's confusing walking into Mafia games without previous data. A small summary, if you please.MeMe wrote:The answers were detailed quite nicely in about a dozen posts lost in the move, which you should have read upon your return.
Ever prepared for a trip? I was going to reread the day before the trip, but I only got on for about 20 minutes online. Enough to post that same message in all of my seven games here, and two at heavengames. Also, I belong to many more forums than that.MeMe wrote:1) why didn't you share thoughts after the "reread" you claimed to be performing rather than dropping an out-of-nowhere post that you were going to be gone for more than a week?
As stated previously, I belong to many forums, and many games of Mafia, and many games here of Mafia, and this happened to be the last one that I caught up on the material I missed. The I'm back was to tell everyone that I was back, not that I was caught up. It wasn't until later that I started participating more actively.MeMe wrote:how come you didn't contribute (or even promise to do so) once you got back?Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Listen: How am I supposed to defend myself if Idon't know what I'm defending myself against!
I'm not lying that I was on a trip, and I can see that I have no way to prove it. You can look at these games:MeMe wrote:but for all you'd know I'm actually preparing for a trip that I'm not bothering to tell you about. Have I grasped the proper use of that excuse?

It's up to you. I wouldn't fake going on vacation, if that's what you're implying. Also. I'm not the most inactive player, The Shadow is. Look at statistics.
I'm not saying you're lurking. I've never said that.MeMe wrote:I've posted the entire time without excuse and it was here for your perusal.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

I did read the thread but we lost data.Well, yes, but now that your active again, we expect you to read the enitre thread before you accuse someone of vote hopping.
I realize it looks this way, but it's hard to find time in a busy life. What I'm saying is that you made it look as though you were about to contribute with the "rereading" post and then left us hanging -- with no forewarning -- for a really long time.
I did read the missing content, but as you realize, I'm in more than one game. I have to remember a lot in and out of Mafiascum.MeMe wrote:If you truly didn't read the missing content, it doesn't work in your favor, nor should it fall on those of us who did to recreate them for you now.
If nobody can recreate evidence for me, then how the hell am I supposed to defend myself?Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

I don't understand your argument. I read the thread.Nocmen wrote:Wait...your response to the first quote is saying "we lost data thats a problem because I cant use it", and then you said after the third quote that you did read it. If you read it, as most of us also did, your putting out a vibe to me that reads "im a scum that needs to nitpick exact details to get you off my back".Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

I am contributing to the game. I used to not be able to because I had to catch up on everything else.kil wrote:na- could you please tell us when you will be having some more input? Because if your life is this busy now, you may never have time to get to this game since it seems it is one of your lowest priorities, if you will not be contributing to this game because of external factors, could you please as for replacement?
That's exactly what I've been saying the entire time.kil wrote:I cant really seem to remember it...Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

oh, whoops, my bad. I didn't think we had lost MeMe's and OMG's agreeing that you were a good place for a vote bedaause you hadn't posted much. my bad.Ancalagon wrote:

You have yet to post evidence about me since the server move. I don't understand why you think I can remember everything. Even one paragraph would be enough. I've played two games where I've been lynched without any reason. I'd like a reason for your vote.MeMe wrote:who only posts to whine about lost data while still not bothering to comment on the data that's not missing, which includes every single bit that he claimed to be "rereading" and who is either 1) scum -- yay or 2) townie -- best wrong lynch we could make)Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

From the most recent behavior, omg comes off as the most scummy. However, I can see him showing up as town, since his behavior has been consistent all game. Omg, perhaps insulting and yelling at people isn't the best way to play.
kilmenator comes off scummy, but not very. I can't see much hard evidence on his posts, they just don't seem right.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

You say never learning from your mistakes is the wrong way to play, but people find you scummy in every game you play. Ironic?omg_im_innocent_wtf wrote:no, i play fine.
voting people based on pro-town tells like overdefensiveness is the wrong way to play. never learning from your mistakes is the wrong way to play. voting people because you are offended by what they say is the wrong way to play.
finding me scummy here is beyond stupid, and yet it happens every game i play on this site. pathetic.
Anyway, how is finding you scummy beyond stupid? You ad hominem and attack everyone here.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Quit trying to twist my words. I merely asked a reason of why he unvoted. I wasn't complaining.Nocmen wrote:I said that to ancalagon because someone would be crazy to go and complain about being unvoted for
Is this WIFOM? I haven't seen much of it before, so I'm not sure if it is. It at least doesn't seem right to me.2. who ELSE do you think could be scum? if i am scum, WHO are my scum partners?Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Sending a PM.
Anyway, good post, Javert. I really hadn't seen kil as very scummy until your post.
But at what cost? To lose a bad townie is a good idea? Lynching a townie is a good idea, even if they aren't good? Doesn't make sense to me, but it seems more of a policy discussion than an ingame discussion.kil wrote:If someone plays scummy, they are not helpful to the town, so they are just a liability, and it is smart to be done with them IMO.
I never defended him directly. I said that losing a townie is bad, if he is a townie, which I am completely unsure of, but I never defended his actions.Nocmen wrote:ac1983fan and Ancalagon have defended omgWise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-

Sorry for not posting for so long. I kinda forgot about this game for a while.
Somewhat scummy , or very scummy
MeMe - Something sublime in the posts just disturbs me..
ac1983fan - Suggesting no-lynch, claiming roleblocker, but I don't believe that
omg_im_innocent_wft - Very bad playstyle, but it's at least consistent. Very possible townie, but not much to suggest it.
Not much of a read
Barromán - I'll have to look at his posts on their own later on.
Sweenytodd - Just replaced a very inactive
Nocmen- Not very many posts at all
Not scummy
Javert - Good analysis, looking townie
SV - Good analysis, looking townie so far, but hasn't had much time to slip up either
Elias_the_thief - I was originally wrong in my accusation, now he's seeming much better to me
kilmenator - Not quite townie, not quite scum. I'm just not sure.Wise men make proverbs; fools repeat them.-
