Hey! Lurking, yes. Scum, no comment. Too early for a claim, yanno?

Anyway, I'm watching right now and I'm not coming up with much. I figure the whole thing with the keeping a few people with equal votes is better than bandwagoning one person, so
vote:Jack
. I'm a little loopy right now- got a cold- so I'm not sure if the counting is right, because I'm just going off what Pablito said.

unvote

I haven't posted any more than Riverwind, and yet nobody seems to be pointing at me. Either I'm easily forgettable or just not scummy enough for a vote. xD

Anyway, Riverwind, this is 101 mph mafia. It's fast by default. You were kinda told this before you signed up... no reason to get touchy about it. I have a life, too, and so does everyone here. :P

Jack wrote: Hemisphere dancer, 2 posts, no trying to find scum. I don't know why she says she doesn't want to claim not-scum, seems a weird think to say.
Mm, not quite so weird when you consider that I wasn't in danger of being lynched nor was I a target of any suspicion. It was what, page... 3 or so? Kinda early for a claim. Besides, claiming vanilla would give the scum a confirmed vanilla, and claiming a pro-town powerole would make me a target for both a lynch and a nightkill if the lynch didn't go though. And claiming scum is just stupid.

I only actually brought it up so I wouldn't be avoiding the fact that I was called lurking scum. :) Even though I knew it was in jest.

I'm also not really saying much because I'm watching and seeing how things play out. But if you want some input from me...

omg, honestly, stands out as scummy to me, if only for his "me first" philosophy. Unless we get a cop confirm on his innocence- and I doubt the cop would claim for THAT- then we have no way of telling if he honestly IS 100% town like he claims. And a from-the-start townie claim is suspicious. Jumping the gun, pretty much.

I don't know about the odds behind it, but I like Adele's idea. That way the people we find most suspicious have a better chance of getting lynched, even if it random after that.

....I just realized it took me upwards of 30 minutes between starting this post and finishing it. xD

Jack wrote:I think it weird to not say you are working for the town. In this game, everyone either is working for the town or is pretending to be. You can say "town" without saying vanilla/role.
Yes, but anyone would say town. So what's the point? It doesn't prove guilt or innocence. I'd rather say "no comment" and know myself than verify as vanilla, powerole, or scum. I said why in my last post. *nod*
Jack wrote: I don't understand you point at omg. No one is 100% confirmable town, except confirmed people and the confirmed cops who've confirmed them. And some other weird cases.

Also, he said he was townie: ie not mafia. That's not jumping any guns, he said that while explaining his voting to save self position.
He's claiming that he wants to save himself because he knows he is 100% town.

Oh, wait. I think we're seeing the same thing from different angles on this. xD I figure that arbitrarily claiming town while justifying a vote- on Day 1 no less- is scummier than, say, claiming town while trying to defend yourself from a lynch.

Or am I not making any sense? I might be reading your comment wrong. :/

Welcome to 101, sv. :P

Anyway, I've been watching and while I don't think omg's claim was the best idea, I'm not going to vote him in case he's right.

Uh, Yama's semi-claim is intriguing, so I don't really want him lynched just yet. So I'll
vote: Kenji
to break the tie.

This is a really long Day 1. O__o;

I think that it's extremely plausible that every person has their rolename in all caps on their role PM. There's no reason for any other words to be capitalized, unless maybe it's the mafiate's scumbuddy.

It's not that far a leap of logic; I think that the logic that scum wouldn't do something like that is purely WIFOM.

Yama, I don't see why you're pressing my 5 posts. If I have something to say, I'll say it. If I don't, I'm not going to clutter up the thread with absolutely useless drivel. I'm watching for now, and if my input is needed, I'll speak. But right now I'm letting the more experienced players work their magic. Most likely I'll speak up once there are less people and I've got a decent idea of who I personally feel uis scum.

Although I do believe you when you say you're the Deputy. That's good, because it means we have a cop. That's bad, because now the scum can claim cop. So any future cop claims should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm still not feeling the omg doc claim. But M4yhem's Wifom theory does sound plausible, so I'm not going to vote. Aside from that, I need to look back over Ecto and Jack's posts before I decide on a vote.

Um... why are you two eagerly going along with Jack? Just because we know there's a cop, it doesn't mean that Jack's our cop. A mass vote on pablito wins the mafia another day and another nightkill if he's town.

Of course, if he's town this means that Jack's a filthy lying scum and we've got one. Possibly two, actually, since both Yama and omg jumped right on there. I don't see any reason to follow him so quickly. I mean, how often is it that the cop gets a mafiate on night 1?

The possibility also remains that Jack IS the cop, but we don't know the sanity of aforementioned upholder of the law.
Yamahako wrote: I think its best not to annouce your investigation choice Jack,
that makes it harder for mafia to reduce the amount of information we get.
And this makes no sense. I don't see where making things harder for the mafia is a bad thing.

Still not voting, at least until pablito posts.

Oh okay.

Well, it eliminates the possibility of you being paranoid if pablito turns up town.

Yeah, I still don't quite trust your claim, but right now I'm willing to wait and see what happens. I'm still waiting until pablito comments to vote, though. My hasty decisions tend to end up with me doing something incredibly stupid. Don't hold it against me, okay? And for the love of all the is holy, don't waste an investigation on mere hesitation alone.

And now I see what Yama meant. Thanks. ^_^

Although now that you've claimed, people are bound to bandwagon on your votes, whether it's just speculation or not.

*nod* I got it now, thanks you two.

But still, despite fear of being thought an OMGSCUMBUDDY, I'm going to wait for pablito to comment. Last game I had where the cop claimed we ended up lynching a townie and losing. D: That's the last time I'm blindly following the cop.

It's pretty much guesswork. Who is the doc going to protect tonight? The cop, the deputy, or the confirmed innocent? It's the same with the doc. Who is the mafia going to target tonight?

We also might have enough people for a roleblocker, maybe a mafia roleblocker, and a vig or somesuch. Actually, if there is a mafia roleblocker, then omg did more harm than good by claiming. That's a definate roleblock target.

...I do believe I'd be less paranoid in an open setup. D:

On second thought, scratch the vig comment. If omg is actually the doc and we did have a roleblocker, then they would have blocked his protection and we would have had two kills.

Also, omg, who did you protect last night?

D: Seriously, if pablito ends up town you two (Yama and Jack, omg if there are three) are the best candidates for scum. In fact, if Yama and Jack are our scum, they coordinated well but started too early. By about one day, I think.

Anyway, Yama, I'm actually talking now. :3

Um.

Well, pablito
does
have a point. Jack actually did post 5 times before even going after pablito. And he was protecting Ecto.

I need to check posts like I said I would earlier. D: I'm actually supposed to be writing a paper on Henry Hudson.

Anyway, you two try to out-cop each other. We'll most likely end up lynching one of you today, and if the lynchee is the actual cop, we most likely have Yama as the deputy to take over, and we lynch the other the next day as scum. Then, if Jack end up being scum, we lynch Ecto. If Ecto is scum and the game doesn't end, we lynch Yama. If pablito is the one that ends up scum, we rely on the cop/deputy's next investigation to move on from there.

Unless, of course, my judgement is all wrong and I'm going to be jumped on like Adele was for her original idea.

unvote
I actually kinda like Yama's idea there enough to unvote, but I don't see exactly where Ecto being scum means that pablito is scum. And what if Ecto ends up being town? Explain please?

And Ecto, the last several posts can be seen as either
(1) Pablito scrambling after being caught
(2) You scrambling after being caught (with the "pablito is obviously scum" comment)
or
(3) Jack scrambling after you being caught

So your comment has a one-in-three chance of being right. Actually less, but at the moment these are the most likely.

omg, next time you post, I want to know who you tried to protect.

mod
, if there were a paranoid cop in this game, would an investigation on them turn up antitown?

Responding to a prod; I didn't realize I'd missed a whole day!

So do we have a roleblocker? Since, well, our doc's kinda dead. I was wondering why it took the scum so long to off omg.

(And as for my sudden burst of posts when Jack and pablito claimed, I've never been in a situation with two claimed cops and it was quite exciting. I also was working on a school project, and that gave me constant access to the computer for a few hours, instead of the sporadic 15-30 minutes I usually get.)

Scot, HD did not vote for M4yhem because somehow HD managed to get distracted long enough to miss an entire in-game day.

And there are a lot of possibilities as to what went on last night.

(1) Lucky Roleblocker
(2) Smart Nurse-now-Doc; probably protected Jack since he's confirmed as cop.
(3) Scum chose not to kill;
mod
, is that an option in this game?
(4) Our friendly neighborhood mod is playing with us. D:

Yama, if you don't mind I'll be stealing your list of players.

Ectomancer
- Possibly Pro-Town, as pablito did his best to convince us of his guilt. Also possibly scum, as pablito did his best to convince us of his guilt. A scum claiming doc and accusing a scumbuddy of being scum is an interesting play- if the accuser is lynched, the other is nearly guaranteed "innocent;" if the accusee is lynched, the accuser is locked in as cop, at least for that turn. Unconventional, but it can be pulled off.
Hemisphere Dancer
- Me. Hi. Definately Pro-Town. Stupid, but Pro-Town.
Yamahako
- Claimed Deputy; With the speculation from last game that there would be one, it's actually a pretty dang good plan to claim a slightly more obscure role like this. Possibly scum, but not likely enough to warrent a vote. Yama, if you end up scum, you have a pair of v. large ones.
M4yhem
- Confirmed vanilla; Possibly Godfather
Jack
- Confirmed Cop
Kenji
- Claimed vanilla
scotmany12
- looks scummy to me. After Ecto posted that quote, I figured... um, well, a claimed cop usually IS either cop or scum. In rare cases a very stupid townie might claim a false powerrole to keep from being lynched, but not usually. The fact also remains that in the middle of a double cop claim he reminds us of our dear friend the claimed doctor. Trying to change the subject- if not scummy, at least anti-town.

...I'm actually going to
vote:scotmany12
here. I believe I just convinced myself. Odd.

Arafax wrote: Yes, that is an option.
Thank you!

With this option now open, scum could have used this no-night-kill to confuse the heck out of us. At this point we have one left; this one could have chosen not to kill tonight to set up a roleblocker claim for later. It would, for at least today, keep them out of the fire.

So yeah, that's a possibility. I can't see how that'd be helpful to scum, but it could definately buy time. It would probably have been better to have waited a day or two if this tactic actually was used, that way the town-to-scum ratio would have gone down at least a bit.

But I'm still kinda feeling the scot lynch. ^^;

Claims are starting to get confusing.

And when I typed "doc" in Ecto's description I meant "cop." D: Sorry for any confusion.

As for M4yhem, the arguments about him being Godfather are starting to sound more and more plausible. I also have faith in Jack's scumdar. So a
