Re-reading the thread, I'm actually quite happy with my vote on Narninian. Good chance he's scum, and if he's not, we're losing a townie day one. I can live with that - clearly preferable over exposing a cop or doc with a next bandwagon. Vote stays.

It also makes it so you dont have to adjust your stategy if playing as mafia. Its to your advantage to get a townie lynched, if mafia. It prevents a fellow mafia member from being run up, and having to do a false claim, or exposing partners trying to defend them.

If I am mafia, my biggest hope is that the town keeps switching bandwagons after claims, eventually exposing doctor and cop. Hell, if that leads to the loss of one mafia member at the end of day one by a lynch, it is still a good trade.

One thing that troubles me, Dragon Phoenix seemed to be all for random bandwagoning me, and forcing me to claim. I've played with him before where he was the first bandwagon on Day 1 --- he refused to claim, so obviously he feels that the 'best way to go' on Day 1 should change on a whim. Now he is saying that we shouldnt bandwagon anybody else. Yeah, I'm JUST a townie, but we should really go SCUM hunting (and dont say you dont know Im not scum, well sure.. I dont know anybody isnt scum, so that logic isnt a good reason to lynch somebody).

I'd like to see you pull up a quote from the last eyar or so where I state that I want to bandwagon to force a claim.

You WILL find a quote (Asterix mafia I think) where I state that if a townie is the victim of a day one bandwagon he or she should take one on the chin for the town and accept it. Because a claim can lead to a bandwagon diversion, resulting in exposure of doc or cop.

There is no shift. Once again Narninian, where does it say that I want to force a claim? I only want the first day bandwagonee to claim if he or she has a power role. If you would have bothered checking the Asterix thread as I suggested, you would have seen that clearly outlined.

Bandwagon someone. Listen to the defence. Do not ask for a role claim. As the bandwagonee, do not roleclaim, unless your role is vital (doc, cop, arguably mason) for the town. Does the defence convince us? We'll go for the next one. Does it not convince us? Lynch!

The statistics say it is most likely you bandwagon a townie first day. So be it. Losing one or more townies by lynching the first days does not lose the game. Exposing a doctor and a cop and god knows what else on day 1 by repeated bandwagoning for role claims does.

A townie who gets bandwagoned should realise that this is OK. Take one on the chin for the benefit of the town.

Of course, scum can only claim a doc or cop type role. That usually sorts itself out in the next night or days.

If we do not resolve the doctor question, chances are the mafia will not kill the real doc tonight as that would expose the fake one. By no means therefore essential to lynch one of them now - the real doc might get lucky and save someone.

I still think lynching one of the claimed docs is the wrong play. And a Blackberry lynch should give us some information.

I don't think the cop should check a claimed doctor. We KNOW one of them is scum (yes, mathcam, there is a 0.00321% chance they are both docs), and that will sort itself out with the help of the scum as soon as the cop comes out. The cop would do far better to check one of the unknown quantities.

I second the motion for the cop coming out, even if he/she only has innocent results. The mafia will probably target a non-doc again the coming night and may get lucky. If the cop claims, we have one more night of investigation coming up.

I'm making a leap of faith here that at least one of our claimed doctors is real and will protect the cop.

Well, odds are that Tyfo is scum, because two doctors and a back-up in one mini seems too much of a stretch.

We can deal with a supposed second killing group for which we have no evidence when we need to. I say we lynch Tyfo and most likely wrap up the game if it is a 3 scum, no SK, no cop set-up.

Speaking of night actions, I must commend Dragon Phoenix (Roleblocker) for not only roleblocking the town's cop Night 1, but also the doctor Night 2. Way to pick out the scum, DP.

On the other hand, I was on all three scum lynch wagons.
