Mini 807 - Save the Mafia! (Game Over!)

This was once a flourishing town, the biggest thriving centre of civilization…..until the Mafia came.

It all began with the subtle movements of infiltration and sabotage, and would quickly progress to outright murder as the paranoia spread quickly within the town and the Mafia grow bolder as their strength grows rapidly in comparison to the dwindling town population.

In a final act of desperation, the town gathered its remaining population and went on a Mafia-hunting rampage, and all who displayed the slightest hint that he may detrimental to the town’s survival are lynched without trials. But it was all for nothing, as the Mafia stood by and let the town’s paranoia and bloodthirstiness borne out of desperation do the work for them, laughing as each innocent townie dies in their place. And when the town has reduced its own population to but a small fraction of what it once was, the Mafia struck with full force, easily wiping out the last of the resistance.

A celebration is in order as the Mafia completes it takeover of the town and establishes one of their biggest power bases. In light of their success, however, their wariness dropped, and this would cost them dearly.

In the middle of the night, the town, or what remained of it, was shaken by a terrible string of explosions. Awakened from their sleep or drunken revelry, the Mafia was dismayed to find out that the building of the headquarters consumed by flames. Worse, many of their own had perished within the explosion, which seemed have begun from the Mafia’s well-stocked weapon store. Or at least, it used to be well-stocked. After the fire finally burnt out, it appeared that other than the small stock of dynamite that had been used to start the explosion, someone had already taken great care to clean out the weapon store before destroying the building.

A search of the town is launched, but with no results. It appears that no one new had entered the city since the takeover. Nor can they find any sign of the missing weapons. This can only mean one thing: the enemies, whoever they are, are hidden among what seem to be the remaining survivors of the Mafia organization.

The remaining Mafia members, a total of 12, gather in the town centre. For once the table is turned. Now the Mafia members view one another with suspicion, each suspecting the other of being an enemy in disguise. There are enemies among them, and worse, they probably have all the stolen firearms at their disposal! It would seem that poetic justice is about to be served, unless, of course, the surviving members can find their enemies before they are killed.…..

As a measure of safety, an agreement was reached for all remaining Mafia members to hand over the guns that they carry on their person to be locked away in one of the buildings that have survived the explosion– after all, what good are guns to the Mafia when every single bullet in the weapon store had been cleared out? Better to try and deprive the enemies of the weapons they need.

But now comes the harshest step. The Mafia has never been averse to killing, and if the risk of killing their own is the price they have to pay to keep themselves alive, so be it…..

Let the lynching begin!

Rules:(Blatantly stolen and combined from multiple games)

1) No discussion of this game is allowed outside this thread unless your role specifically states that you can.

2) All voting are to be done in bold (e.g.
Vote: PsychoSniper
) Votes that are not bolded will not count.

3) To switch your vote to a different player, you must
unvote
, also to be done in bold.

4) Lynching occurs when a player receives a simple majority of the surviving players’ votes.

5) Dead players are not allowed to post again until the game ends. A single “Bah!” post with no game content is acceptable, but no more.

6) Do NOT attempt to delete or edit your own posts even if you have modding powers in this forum.

7) Talking during twilight (the period between a lynch occurs and Night) is allowed in this game, but votes during this period will be ignored.

8) During the Day, players are expected to post at least once every 72 hours. Failure to do so will result in a mod-prod. A third prod will result in the player being replaced. All prodded players have up to 48 hrs to post or respond to the prod. Failure to do either will also result in their replacement.

9) Night will last 48 hours. Any night actions submitted after that will not be accepted.

10 ) If you have a valid reason to not be able to post for more the 72 hours, please inform me. Do not just disappear.

11) Do not directly quote your role PM or any PM from me unless I specifically give you permission. Paraphrasing is acceptable.

12) If the game drags too long without sufficient activity, deadlines will be imposed at my discretion.

13) At a deadline, the lynch will only require half the usual amount of votes (rounding fractions up). However, with 7 or less players left, only a simple majority will result in a lynch. If requirements for a lynch are not met, no lynch will occur for that Day.

14) Green will be the colur I’m using for this game. Please do not use this colour, so as to avoid confusion.

15) This is my first modding experience here, feel free to point out any mistakes I may have made.

16) This is first and foremost a game, so have fun!

I came in with the intention of imposing a deadline, but it seems like the activity has picked up considerably since I last posted, I'm not sure it's still needed.....

The Mafia debated all day long, the focus of their suspicion shifting from one to the other, and for a while, it seems like they can never make up their mind. As the sun starts to set, and twilight approaches, the focus of their suspicion is on Wickedestjr. They patience worn thin and their bloodlust aroused to new height after all a day’s worth of pent-up paranoia and frustration, the Mafia proceed to bundle their latest prime suspect up on the gallows in the town square (which, ironically, was originally built by the town to hang members of the Mafia) before he can even protest. It is only when the noose starts to tighten around the neck that Wickedestjr manages to utter a few words in a futile attempt to defend himself. But by then, it’s too late, and a few agonizing moments later, the unfortunate man’s hanging body goes stiff and motionless.

It is only then when the Mafia, their bloodthirst sated, began to search for material evidence of their victim’s guilt. On closer examination, it is soon apparent that Wickedestjr is indeed not one of them, as his corpse bears none of the marks that their initiation rituals would have left. Wickedestjr is indeed an outsider to the Mafia.

So far, so good. But there’s one thing wrong with this: it looks like Wickedestjr doesn’t have a gun, or any sort of firearms whatsoever! There’s no way he can be a killer.

The Mafia move on to the victim’s house, and again, while finding a disturbing lack of evidence of Wickedestjr being a Mafia member, there’s an equal lack of evidence that he had any sort of proper weapons at his disposal. Finally, in his bedroom, one of the gang spots the victim’s diary, as well as some hidden posters and scrawled graffiti that proclaim his adulation for the Mafia.

It seems that Wickedestjr, while not exactly a Mafia member, had been a die-hard Mafia supporter. In fact, from the entries in his diary, it is revealed that he’d went as far as betraying his own hometown and help lynching his own fellow townies in order to help the Mafia take over the city. He had been a traitor to his town, and an invaluable ally that even the Mafia themselves hadn’t known that they possess.

Wickedestjr had been hopeful that he will finally get the chance to be initiated into the great Mafia organization once the Mafia completed third takeover. Unfortunately, he never got the chance, as thanks to the new crisis that the Mafia currently faces, he’d been afraid to reveal his own status, knowing full well that at this point the Mafia would not even trust their own, much less an outsider. Hence, he’d died at the hands of the very people he admired and literally killed to be a part of.

The Mafia departed and went home with mixed feelings, knowing that their enemies are still out there, yet somehow, deep down underneath, they’re somewhat glad that they hadn’t actually lost “one of their own”. But would that still be true, come morning?

It is now Day, and the Mafia once again gather at the town square to discuss their next move. Unfortunately, a quick headcount reveals that not all of them had arrived. More precisely, two of them had not shown up, namely
lobstermania
and
ChannelDelibird
.

A search is immediately organized, as the group head straight for lobstermania’s apartment. Upon arrival, it is immediately apparent that someone had broken into the house during the night. Lobstermania herself lies in her own bedroom, a bullet having passed clean through her body and piercing her heart. What is more curious about the sight is that lobster had apparently not been entirely helpless……she has a gun of her own still clutched in her hand! Is she, in fact, one of the enemies that the Mafia had been looking for?

But that theory is soon derailed by two discoveries: first was the fact that lobster’s gun had in fact been empty. The lack of any other bullets found in the room other than the one that killed her seems to imply that she has none of her own. From her posture, it looked like she had drawn her gun instinctively to defend herself against an attacker and either forgot or did not know that it was empty. Either way, it had cost her her life.

The second discovery was a photograph displaying what had apparently been lobster herself, as a child, held up in the arms of a man that several of the Mafia manage to recognize. On the photograph’s frame that holds it is a label that spells out the words ‘Daddy & Me”.

“That’s the Godfather!” someone exclaims.

Indeed, lobstermania is in fact the beloved Daughter of the Mafia’s Godfather, and can be struck safely off any list that contains the Mafia’s enemies.

Dejected, the Mafia then heads for the home of ChannelDelibird. As they had feared, he, too, had fallen victim to a night killer. It seems like he had been in the process of reading some newly arrived mails, and had been shot right in the forehead, squarely between the eyes.

A further search of his house reveals that he, too, has a gun by his side……also empty! What makes it even more curious is the fact that a single bullet is found lying on the table close by, one that has definitely not been used. No other bullets (other than the one stuck in his skull), or any other form of firearms, can be found in his house.

What they do find, though, is some familiar equipment used often by the Mafia to “clean up” the crime scene after they perform a kill. It seems like ChannelDelibird had been the Mafia Janitor.

The Night approaches, and the Mafia is getting restless. Each time they appear to have gotten hold of someone suspicious, the suspect in question was able to come up with a good reason why he should not be the lynch. It seems like everyone here holds an invaluable, and sometimes irreplaceable, role in the Mafia, ones that they cannot afford to lose.

Finally, the suspicion falls on
nohandtyper
. But this time, unlike the previous ones, this particular suspect doesn’t seem too keen to reveal his identity, despite the ever-mounting pressure from the town for him to do so. Frustrated that they can get no more information out of him from mere questioning, the Mafia’s brutal instinct takes over, and nohandtyper was dragged to the gallows for his execution.

The suspect was surprisingly calm despite the imminent danger. Just as the noose was about to close around his neck, nohandtyper makes the shocking statement:

“Mafia, I’m your Godfather! Recognize me!”

And with that, the suspect casts off his disguise, revealing his true identity. Horrified at what they’d almost done, the Mafia immediately releases nohandtyper from his bonds. What calamity would have befallen them if they’d killed their own leader!

Shaken by this close call, the Mafia disperses from the town square, unwilling to risk anymore mis-lynches today. At any rate, Night has almost fallen, perhaps they would be able to focus better after a good night’s sleep…..

…..if they wake up from it.

Day 2 has ended with a No Lynch.

The Mafia gathers at the town square at the break of dawn. It seems like their fears are confirmed once more, as once again, not all of them showed up. Searches are promptly mounted for the missing members, namely

CoCo
.

They found
ryan2754
even before they reach his home, as he lies dead in the middle of a street his brains blown right out of his head by a messy gun-shot. It’s not clear why he’d been out of his house late at night, but it certainly doesn’t seem like he was up to any good. His fingers are still clutched around his gun…..and unlike the two dead members found the previous day, ryan’s gun had been fully loaded.

Further searches of his body as well as his house turn up evidences that confirm the Mafia’s suspicion. This man is certainly not one of them. He’s a young vigilante who, judging by the entries in his own diary sees himself as a hero that will gain the fame and glory he craves by taking out the mighty Mafia Empire. Unfortunately for him, his dreams of glory had been shattered – along with his head – by whomever that gunned him down last night.

CoCo
is eventually found also, and it seems like he, too, had been out at night. He carries no weapon, and a search of his body unveils the old marks left on him from the old initiation rites. Some spying equipment, too, are found on his body as well as in his home. It looks like CoCo is exactly who he had claimed to be.

For once, it doesn’t take long for the Mafia to determine their targets.
DeathRowKitty
soon becomes prime suspect of the Mafia.

“Wait, I’m not an enemy, I’m one of you! I was your Arms-master! I’d been doing my best to find and recover the ammunition that the enemy stole from us!” DRK cries.

But the Mafia pay no heed to this, and DRK is quickly dragged to the gallows and hanged. After his struggling cease, the Mafia, as usual, proceed to search his corpse…...and find the marks of the initiation rites on him. It looks like DRK had been one of them. Uh oh…….

But then, further searching reveals a full-loaded gun on him. Something he’d claimed that he’d been looking for to identify the enemy. Puzzled by this, the Mafia continue the search to his home. There, they find a hidden cellar which holds most of their stolen weapons and ammunition!

DRK had indeed been the Mafia Arms-master, the man who was in charge of the Mafia’s weapon store……and it was for this reason that the infiltrators were able to steal weapons and ammunition of the Mafia without too much trouble, because he’d been on their side all along!

By common consent, the Mafia lock up their newly-found weapon store from all access. There may still be enemies among them, and after what happened last time, they do not trust any single one of them be in charge of this much power. Instead, the zone is completely barricaded to prevent entry before the Mafia disperse for the night…...

stalks the streets through the night, gun-in-hand. The deaths of his two comrades have not deterred him in the slightest. Having seen his entire family die at the hands of the Mafia when they took over the town, he’s determined to get his revenge at any risk or cost.

A dark silhouette appears in the distance, and MME quickens his pace. At last, he’s found his target. In his eagerness, he does not bother to mask the sound of his approach. Hearing the footsteps behind him, the figure ahead turns around…..and screams in terror at the killer gaining on him, but it is too late. A shot rings out through the night, and

collapses in a pool of his own blood.

“Join the rest of your brood in hell, scum!” MME spits down at the motionless corpse.

“You spoke my mind.” A voice remarks behind him. “Except I was going to address that statement to you.”

MME whirls around quickly, but not quick enough to avoid the bullet that passes clean through his neck. He falls, the last of the anti-mafia infiltrators.

I would like to thank all of you for your patience in sticking with me through this game to its completion. Especially for the “scum” (vigilante) group, because I know how frustrated you must be getting towards the later part of the game. I’m sure even most of the town will agree with them that this setup seems horribly skewed against the scum.

The setup didn’t look that imbalanced to me when I was writing it up (Note to self: don’t get too over-enthusiastic with power roles next time). It would probably have been better had I taken out one of the town power roles like the vig or the lawyer. But I just want to say that there were a few things that happened in the game that made it seem even more imbalanced than it already is.

Things to note:

1) nohandtyper: he’s
not
, in fact, unkillable. Nor does he create vigilantes. Nor does he even know about lobster’s alignment. He
is
the Mafia Godfather, but that was about the only truth he told about his role. In fact, his roles was one of the things I’d set that was meant to tilt the balance back towards scum.

What the Godfather
can
do is a
one-shot
ability stop a lynch (ANYONE’s, not just his own) OR do a Day-kill, either of which would have immediately ended the Day, but doing either of these will expose his role. And that’s not all. My Milked Eek actually had the right idea when he guessed that NHT might be claiming Beloved princess. Yes, NHT’s role was the combination of Mayor
and
Beloved Ruler. Had he died, the Mafia (town) would have been forced to skip an entire Day and Night without action (giving the scum 96 hrs of talk and two consecutive night-kills, one of which guaranteed to be unhindered). Even NHT himself doesn’t know how serious his death would have been to the town, he was only told that there would be “extremely negative consequences” for the town if he were to die.

NHT came up with a clever lie to hide this weakness from the scum, but even then I was expecting some suspicion to be on him, especially given how many power roles the town has already been revealed to have. I expected some of the town to question how powerful his role is for the town, I expected the town to question his bolded “
Stop Lynch
” post (which he must do to stop his lynch), and most of all I expected town to question his initial claim of being able to send “weapon OR ammunition” to the town, because this coincides with Starbuck’s role. NHT later claimed that he was supposed to just send out guns and not bullets to work with Starbuck, but I was a little surprised no one questioned his initial claim.

2) There was actually one person in the game who knew for certain that NHT wasn’t really unkillable, but that person died early in the game. That person is ChannelDeliBird, and he knows (or would have known) it
because it was his goal to kill the Godfather
. He had a hidden role, which was “
Mafia Usurper
”. He’s pro-Mafia, but can only win if the Godfather dies, which means what NHT described about his role was impossible for his win condition to apply. What CDB would
not
have known is how costly the GF’s death would have been for the town.

In fact, had he not died on Night 1, there’s a good chance he would have killed NHT on Night 2, because the previous night Starbuck sent him the bullet he needed for this task! But the scum made an unlucky choice (though not an unwise one, I agree with them that CDB acted the most townish on Day 1) on Night 1 and took away a role that could otherwise have helped them.

3) DeathRowKitty’s role: there is something that I regretted not doing from the beginning, and that is to tell DRK that his role (like the typical scum Godfathers in many games) is
immune to investigation
. Not just to the Cop, but the Lawyer, too, would have been told that the Arms-master is alive, because flavor-wise, DRK was really a former Mafia member.

The only thing DRK had was a hint, because the flavor in his role pm tells him that he’s a former mafia member. In fact DRK
did
make a conjecture about that in his night-talk.

I was intentionally keeping some of the role power/consequences vague, with only slight hints in the flavor text. Just like how NHT wasn’t told the full extent of his death’s consequences, DRK wasn’t directly told about his immunity.

What happened was that the one time DRK was investigated (by CoCo), the Cop got role-blocked. If that hadn’t happened, DRK might have been cleared almost from the start.

4) I did consider how powerful the Cop/Lawyer combination might turn out to be for the town, but I was hoping that DRK’s immunity and the existence of Wicked’s role (the Miller) would screw up their results enough to decrease their effectiveness. I also didn’t expect how quickly all the power roles got exposed so that qwints’ choices are effectively narrowed down from the 16 choices he had from the start.

In retrospect, I probably should have thrown in a couple of “Mafia Goons” (probably taking out lobster’s and Reckoner’s roles) in this game so that the lawyer’s result isn’t as reliable and mass-claims less game-breaking.

5) MME was indeed a “bomb” (though not against nightkills), and his lynch (or him being killed by NHT in the Day) would also have taken out whomever that is responsible for his death. Maybe I should also have made him a bomb against NKs too, but in the context of this game it didn’t really matter, since he was the last surviving scum by the time he died.

6) There’s a “side plot” that was never triggered in this game, and on hindsight it probably wasn’t a good idea to implement in a Mini. If either one of the Godfather’s Daughter or the Role-blocking Vigilante ever target the other (whether for an NK or a RB), they would become lovers, and form a third party whose goal is to kill everyone else. The RBer, given his role, will probably be targeting someone every night, and lobster would be able to do NKs if he ever received a bullet from the Bulletsmith, hence increasing the chance of the event being triggered. The death of either one of them would cause the other to commit suicide.

7) So, as you can see, while Starbuck is a town power role, the pro-town effect of her role is limited. There are 4 town roles who own gun: Hitman, Godfather, Daughter and Usurper. Giving the Hitman bullets is pointless, since he has more than enough to last the whole game. Giving the Usurper bullets may end up being anti-town. Giving the GF’s Daughter bullets may be pro-town, or it may be anti-town if the side-plot was ever triggered. The GF is the only guaranteed pro-town guy who benefits from Starbuck’s action.

*BTW, the part about the hitman having 5 bullets is purely flavor/red herring. The “town vig” is meant to have unlimited kills, and the 5 bullets thing is just to fit into the storyline (that the Mafia have lost all their weapons and the Hitman only has some remaining from his last mission).

Anyway, I’ll be posting the role pms and night actions soon(though most of you can pretty much figure out what happened for the most part without it). All comments/reviews/advice/criticisms/

@ryan: I'm posting the role pms now, so hopefully they'll answer your questions about the other roles.

Roles:

Mafia Godfather


You are the
Mafia Godfather
, the head of this organization. Hence, you must now try to weed out the anti-mafia agents who have infiltrated your organization. Every Day, you may cast your vote like all the other players. However, due to your special position, at any point during the Day in this game, you have the option to use your power to either:

a) stop the lynch of any 1 player (including yourself) has been cast, provided you do it within 24 hours after the lynching vote is cast (during Twilight). However, the Day will end regardless. To do this you must type, in bold, in the thread:
Stop Lynch


OR

b) order the immediate execution of any 1 player, which would lead to that player’s lynch and end the Day at the same time. To do this, you must type, in bold, in the thread:
Execute: <player name>


However, you can only use this ability ONCE in the game, and in using it, your role will automatically be revealed to all. With your headquarters clearly infiltrated by outsiders, it’s probably not a good idea to reveal your role to anyone unless you are certain it will lead to victory. Being the leader of the Mafia, you know that your death will have an extremely negative impact to the Mafia, so take care!

Being the Mafia leader, you have kept your gun, though you do not make this known to the others. At the moment, it is useless to you, since you have no bullets. But it may very well prove useful in time.

You win the game when all anti-mafia parties, as well as anyone who may wish you personal harm, are dead.

Mod's note: When the Godfather dies, “town” goes into mourning, and skips a Day and a Night (while scum gets to act for two consecutive Nights).



Godfather’s Daughter


You are the
Godfather’s Daughter
, your father being the leader of the Mafia. Unfortunately, you’ve been separated from him since the explosion and have no idea if he’s even alive.

At the moment, there’s little you can do but to do your best to protect what’s left of your father’s organization by weeding out the infiltrators in the Mafia. Every Day, you can vote to lynch whomever you think to be anti-mafia.

Unlike most of the other Mafia members, you still have a gun in your possession (it’s one of the earliest birthday presents you received from your dear Daddy). Unfortunately, with the weapon store raided, there’s no bullet for you to make use of, so your gun is useless for now. That may change, of course, if, during the game, you somehow manage to lay your hand on some bullets…..

You win when all anti-mafia agents are dead.

Mod's Note: If she’s targeted by the Roleblocking Vigilante, or vice versa, they become lovers and will be able to talk at night. Their win condition will change, and they must them kill everyone else in the game.



Mafia Usurper


You are the
Mafia Usurper
. That’s not what you are actually known as to the rest of the Mafia, obviously, since it would have gotten you executed immediately. They know you as the
Mafia Janitor
, the guy who cleans up the scene after they’ve done their dirty work. For a long time, you’ve been dissatisfied with your position within the Mafia. You want more power! In fact, you wish to attain power over the entire Mafia! For this, you’ve been planning to kill the Godfather and take over his position.

This recent infiltration has given you the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. In this period of confusion and paranoia, you may well kill the Godfather…..and get away with it!

To this end, you had secretly kept your gun instead of giving it up. Unfortunately, since the accursed anti-mafia invaders had raided the weapon store, you can’t find any bullets to use with it…for now, at least. You will have to bide your time, and wait for your opportunity.

Every Day, you can cast your votes and lynch whomever you want to be rid of. That includes both the Godfather and the anti-mafia agents, since ultimately you are still one of the Mafia, and you must keep it alive in order to take over it!

You win when all anti-mafia parties and the Godfather are dead…..but only if you yourself survive!

Mafia Hitman


You are the
Mafia Hitman.
Your job is to kill whomever your superiors tell you to. You hold this privileged position because you are the best shot in the group, and you’ve never failed in your missions so far.

Even though you are loyal to the Mafia, you were extremely uncomfortable when ordered to give up your gun like everyone else. It’s become so much a part of you that you feel naked without it. Thus, unknown to everyone else, you had secretly kept your gun. In fact, it still contains 5 bullets from your last mission (you seldom need to use more than 1 to complete your kill), probably more than enough to deal with these pesky infiltrators. You’ve decided to deal with the anti-mafia agents the same way you’ve always done: hunt ’em down and gun ’em down!

While you can vote just like everyone in the Day, every Night you have the option of sending me (via PM) the name of the player you wish to nightkill. If you do not send me a target before Night ends, no kills will be made.

You win when all anti-mafia agents are dead.


Mafia Spy


You are the
Mafia Spy
. You had always earned your keep in the Mafia by weeding out individuals who are of the biggest threat to your organization. Now, with your own power-base infiltrated, it seems like the perfect opportunity for you to put your skills to use again.

Like majority of your fellow mafia, you had given up your gun. Nevertheless, you don’t need it to do what you’re good at. In addition to doing your part in voting to lynch the Mafia’s enemy every Day, each Night you also have the option to investigate a player by sending me (via PM) the name of your target. Your investigation, unless obstructed by other parties, will reveal to you whether your target is in fact a legit member of the Mafia.

You win when all anti-mafia agents are dead.


Mafia Bulletsmith


You are the
Mafia Bulletsmith
. The infiltrators may have destroyed your weapon store, but little do they know that the Bulletsmith is still alive and well, and able to supply his comrades with much-needed bullets. Since you’re the only one who can do this, you decide that it’s probably best not to reveal this fact so as not to make yourself a target for the enemies.

However, making bullets take time, and you can only make one per Night. Every Night, you can send me the name of any one player that you wish to send a bullet to. Unless obstructed by other parties, he or she will be informed that he’s received a bullet the following Day.

You must your choices carefully, because you know that not everyone of you fellow Mafia has a gun. You yourself had handed over your own gun and thus can’t use the bullets yourself. Furthermore, if you send a bullet to one of the enemies by mistake, you will have alerted them to your presence!

You win when all anti-mafia agents are dead.

Mod's Note: The Bulletsmith's target receive the bullet on the following Day, not on the Night that the bullet is sent. All receipients of the bullets (whether they can use it or not) will be informed that soemone had sent them a bullet.



Mafia Lawyer


You are the
Mafia Lawyer
. Back when the Mafia was fighting to gain control of the town, you had aided them by bailing them out of arrests and representing them in courts of trial when necessary. As a result, you have in your possession the case files containing the personal profiles of every key Mafia member.

The explosion and raid has thrown the organization into chaos, and no one is certain who’s who. But perhaps you, who have access to all the information in your files, can use it to find out the much-needed information.

You know the role names of every important Mafia member there were prior to the raid. You are also sure that the anti-mafia infiltrators will be disguising themselves as members of the Mafia to avoid detection. Every night, you have the option to look through your files for info on one of the Mafia members. These are the role names of each key Mafia member you have (not counting yourself):

. You have saved the lives of many fellow mafia members during the takeover of the town. Just when it looks like you’re finally getting a break, the raid happened, and it seems like you’re called back to duty once again.

Like most of your fellow mafia, you had handed over your gun. Not that you need it to do your job anyway.

Every Night, you may send me the name of the player you wish to protect. Your protection cancels out any one kill attempt made on that player, unless obstructed by other parties. However, you cannot save a guy from multiple kill attempts in the same Night.

You win when all anti-mafia agents are dead.


Mafia Traitor


You are the
Mafia Traitor
. Not a traitor to the Mafia, but a traitor to the once-peaceful town that was your home. Since young, you had wanted to join the Mafia. When they invaded your town, you did everything in your power to help them, despite the fact that they had no idea who you were.

Just when it seems like your dream is about to be fulfilled as the Mafia take over the town, the raid happened, and now the Mafia trusts no one who’s not already one of them. In fact, they no longer even trust one another. Because of this emergency, you never had the chance to be properly inducted into the organization. You don’t even have your own gun. And you know that if any of them were to find out that you’re not (officially) one of them, they may very well decide to lynch you.

Nevertheless, your determination to support the mafia remains. You will help them weed out the infiltrators and use your vote to ensure their lynch.

Mod's Note: When investigated by Mafia Spy, the Spy will be told that he's not a member of the Mafia. The Mafia Lawyer does not have a case file on him.



Vigilante Leader

It was partly due to your position as the Arms-master that your fellow vigilante made such a successful raid on the Mafia’s weapon store. Now you all have unlimited access to bullets, which the Mafia sorely lacks.

Every Night, you may talk with your fellow vigilantes and strategise your next move. As the leader of the group, you must then send me the name of the player that your group will try to kill and who to perform the kill, as well as the name of anyone you may want the Role-blocking Vigilante to Role-block. <insert name> can only role-block if he’s not chosen to do the killing.

. A former inhabitant of this once-peaceful town, you have witnessed the murder of your entire family at the hands of the Mafia when they took over the town. Now, with

, you are on the mission to avenge your family and take down the Mafia once and for all!

Due to your successful raid on the Mafia’s weapon store, you now all have unlimited access to bullets, which the Mafia sorely lacks. You have also personally killed the

who killed your family and taken possession of his gun. Now, to remain undetected by the Mafia, you assume his identity and hope that this disguise will hold.

Fueled by your desire for revenge, if you are ever caught and killed/lynched by the Mafia during the Day, you will be able to avenge yourself immediately by killing the person directly responsible for the kill/lynch and taking them with you.

Every Night, you may talk with your fellow vigilantes and strategise your next move. As the leader of the group, <insert name> must then send me the name of the player that your group will try to kill and who to perform the kill, as well as the name of anyone you may want the Role-blocking Vigilante to Role-block. <insert name> can only role-block if he’s not chosen to do the killing. You also have a bonus ability in that you may distract anyone you target at night with your natural charm, thus effectively Role-blocking them for the Night. You also know that there used to be someone in the Mafia with similar talent as yours, but was killed in the raid. You may thus masquerade as this guy: Mafia Role-Blocker (safe claim!)

Every Night, you may talk with your fellow vigilantes and strategise your next move. As the leader of the group, <insert name> must then send me the name of the player that your group will try to kill and who to perform the kill, as well as the name of anyone you may want to Role-block. You can only role-block if you’re not chosen to do the killing. If <insert name> dies, <insert name> will then take up his responsibility as the leader and send me your night targets.
