The above and below sequences seem like they could have been planned out. The above just doesn't feel natural. Hu Tao asks Generic a vague question and then supposedly goes and works on a reads list. Dann takes that vague question and assumes Hu is suspecting Generic as scum. The below interaction feels like it could be forced as a way for Dannflor to explain why he might be playing differently. Dann says he's not trying to be obv town which he can then use as a way to alleviate all future suspicious based on his game play
