I feel that with Civil Scum (I'm calling you CS from now on), we've got major differences in gameplay, especially on a philosophical way. As such I'm trying to overlook that, to not get lost in the weeds. I feel that he *is* trying to play the game and seek out Scum currently. As Town I always struggle Day 1, and I typically play Day 1 using primarily feels and vibes, and the later in Day 1 I can hopefully begin to start parsing out associations between players.

For Day 1 it's more important to gauge associations in my opinion. I have been extremely limited in my ability to play these last couple of days, and I am V/LA starting tonight: I'm not picking up any new games. This severe time restriction makes me an easy target for Scum, and being Bulletproof means Scum MUST either force my lim OR waste a NK.

How do you think Scum will react to this dilemma? If you are Town I URGE you to watch and see how players react to my claim. Scum has every reason imaginable to try shenanigans during the Day. Think of my claim as a radius around me: Scum that want me limmed will enter that radius—be vigilant. They won't want to waste a NK so their best option is to coordinate in their PT (I'm assuming they have one) and try to manipulate the rest of Town.

It is very boring and very simple. Statistically you are probably town. paired with a miller claim gives you more town equity as I said before what gave me pause was the fact that you didn't claim immediately but eventually did claim miller toe the more I think about it the more I realize people play differently but ultimately you decided it was better for town to know your role very early in the game makes me believe you. Paired with the fact that if I just believe your claim the game gets a lot easier for me. And I do like easy.

Yeah I just have to say that what Greeting said about me possibly acting confused newbie town really is bizarre to me. The things he pointed to that I said were not alignment indicative in the slightest, so why not just say I could be newbie scum, why apply this extra layer onto my behavior of ‘he could be a competent scum pretending to be newbie’.

Also I’m just going to post my read list and then take a break, I’m being a bit OCD I realize.

I would argue WIFOM since as scum I wouldn’t draw attention to myself in this way, but I’m glad he mentioned it cause it seemed like an obvious question to be asking.

Hu Tao- really unsure about them so far but haven’t done anything particularly scummy.

Political Clout- I initially thought that his banter with Starfire seemed like genuine scum hunting, but personally I am able to go after others pretty hard and pretty convincingly when I’m scum, and I’m sure many people here can so I’m taking those towny points away.

KKFC- He seems pro town at times but I’m struggling to put much faith in some of his arguments thus far.

Greeting, I’ve made a couple points about you that you’ve simply ignored. Why are you so afraid of generating content?

Because it doesn’t seem to me like you are basing your read of me on evidence, instead you are trying to gather evidence to support your pre-existing suspicion. Also known as confirmation bias. In my experience, it’s generally not worth bothering with.

In 380 you quote me telling my scum partner that lurking is a good strategy, and try to use this as evidence for my scumminess in this game. Which doesn’t really make sense, because in the game that I linked I served as the prime shit-stirrer who led one miselim after another. With this logic you can get any conclusion about my scum meta you’d like. And I don’t even consider my playstyle in this game to be lurking.

Another contradiction in your point is you disliking both me throwing my vote carelessly in RVS (which I usually do without reading the thread at all) and criticising my general caution about voting thereafter.

What really bothers me is this lack of paranoia and skepticism from certain players here: I can put you Hu Tao and Political Clout in this camp. I feel that if you're Town you absolutely shouldn't be so trusting and should be paranoid and questioning others, including me and my claim. I was told by the game mod that I can attempt to use my ability, but I won't be told if there's only one remaining Scum or not, but that I would get a "No Result" if only one Scum was left, and I did when I attempted to track IAVH Night 2.

The reason I claimed 1-S BP/M was to A) bait the NK and B) bait Scum to try and eliminate me during the Day.

i also think 1776 points out a few things that definitely aren't explained so it's a bit disingenuous to say you already explained. i numbered 3 distinct points specifically to identify what parts i thought weren't sufficiently explained (why is drawing the nightkill a good idea? why is drawing the mislim a good idea? how did your claim effectively do either of those two things (this one is slightly addressed i guess. very poorly.)
i'm also not sure what "there's more than one way to play" has to do with this. i think asserting that what you are saying doesn't make sense is completely different from asserting that what you are doing is wrong or bad. and indeed i think identifying what thought processes are bad or contrived is the basis of scumhunting i'm pretty sure.

I felt my PR was quite weak. I also considered there'd be stonger PRs out there than mine, so I figured I'd draw the kill. If for example there was a Cop and they shot me instead, thinking they had to either try killing me twice or risk revealing themselves in the Daytime to mis-lim me, that would help the Cop live longer.

The thing to take into account is that Hu Tao knew my role and my gating day one. And they would of known at the very least my night action would have either created a confirmed town or caught scum. Its not like i was likely to be protected either so i would have been an easy NK. Although dann flipped one shot cop they could have easily flipped something else from everyone but danns pov.

Still, don't let that blind you. Scum can be extremely crafty, and they had 3 members. Did you ever tell Hu Tao who you were planning to target before doing so?

OK, so I'm here and available all night until 0730.

I feel like the game *SHOULD* be easier because there's only one Scum left, but it's probably going to be harder because it's primarily going to be Town fighting each other, and no real associatives like you'd see between two living Scum over the Days.

Quicks notes are these: Don't automatically assume Bob OR Hu are Town. Both are still alive. I'm inclined to think CS is Scum that's basically given up, so if CS's future replacement sees this, apologies, I'll be pushing you.

Is it too early to massclaim? I figure if we do the walls will end up getting narrower for Scum. I want CS to re-claim, and everyone else to lock in their claims.
