For patients, Happy Sunshine was always known as a quiet, peaceful hospital where sick people could go to get well and get a little rest.
For employees, Happy Sunshine's name was an oxymoron. The hospital was a rat race, full of doctors and nurses giving the word "cut throat" a new meaning.
The old Chief of Medicine was about to step down; the tension was palpable among the staff eligible for promotion. Doctors vying for the position dressed, and worked, to impress.
But despite this, the death rate at Happy Sunshine was climbing at an alarming rate. What was going on? They had a reputation to uphold!
Quilford, though a relatively healthy patient in for a routine appendectomy, was starting to disturb other patients and staff alike. He was very superstitious, and he had somehow overhead a couple of nurses gossiping about the upswing in mortalities.
He was spouting off about conspiracy theories involving doctors and higher ups, shouting so much that it had even caused another nearby patient to check out early.
Though they would normally keep Quilford a bit longer, the nursing staff quietly decided to discharge Quilford a bit early. When he refused to go, saying he needed to keep an eye on his roommate overnight, they called security and pretended nothing had happened as Quilford was dragged out forcefully.
Quilford -
Patient
- was evicted from the premises.
Night 1 commences.
Deadline is Friday, August 12 at 10:30pm EST OR at least 24 hours after I have found a replacement for Hiraki, who has requested replacement. I will keep you posted. Please stop doing this to me. It's getting ridiculous.
