in fairness I thought it was zero. I really think one and a half is a fair compromise.
if anyone wants to do the logic puzzle thing I actually want to fight them.
pedit: oh I think your interpretation of Hoopla is on point. there's always someone who does some kind of stat analysis in an open this nuanced & frequently-run. Hoopla is like actually smart so will not be suggesting that we just blindly follow policy, merely that we allow policy to inform our play as appropriate. I'm just reaffirming.-

People like Hoopla have smart ideas that I'm literally not going to try and understand because logic hurts my brain. I will play mafia like a peasant and report back with my reads. If I feel that the logic is a strong enough factor to offset my reads I'll listen to it, if not I don't really give a toss what Hoopla's meta preference is.
Just ignore it and play mafia imo-

the more i think on it, the more i think we need to shelve this conversation
stuff i will say
- i was aware it had been done either zero or one time (memory fog but u did my homework for me ty)
- scum have >rand draft & massclaim info and there are some very spicy analytical strats they can undertake which i will Not be going into

i mean, at a personality level: because i know the numbers analysis happens. i also know i'd be screaming about this regardless of my alignment which is subversive on a second level. In post 342, Hoopla wrote:the impression i get from your posting is that you don't think the numbers are relevant, so why bother subverting what you don't believe in?

i quite like cray grayson for town. i am quite enjoying ddl's brain thoughts and am leaning town superficially. whoevere made that 3d call on gypyx was pretty astute as well, at some conscience/mindset level he's probably towntold a little.
i don't really care about the clover townreads. i like grumpy cat's posting a whole bunch and their odds of being town a liiiittle bit more than rand. i thought they were kinda pockety at first. but eeehhh. i think they're just kinda cute.
despite my original joke datisi is a fairly easy read via fluidity of thought process and like i'd call him uhhh trending town.
iconeum hasn't really struck me yet, i think he's getting wound up.
marquis and umlaut Underwhelm
username made my skin crawl
ottomh i don't really think ss has done anything dramatically ai yet. his posting is fairly fluid which is a towntell, but he also hasn't spoken about anything that's particularly hard to talk about as scum yet. so who knows~~
you & word i'm not really sure yet. actually i like ss' analysis on your alignment slightly for him but i'm not really sure i bow to it. if word's posting was coming from another type of player i might have kinda kneejerk pushed him but for words i'm not really sure he's in the game yet
so call cray, ddl, maybe kitty, maybe gypyx, town.
maybe datisi too?
maybe, just maybe, ss???
a part of me is tempted to just vote users but a bigger part of me just wants him to come back and talk more.
kinda same for umlaut & marquis but less Vividly
i think i'm still holding an rvs vote for marquis but i'm sure enjoying it-

this is kinda eating the back of my brainIn post 342, Hoopla wrote:cast doubt on said numbers.
there's some validity yeah i have a hot & cold relationship with people doing mech spec in opens
i think it's healthy to have it stated, and then forgotten so people can form reads, and then bleed into analysis on more of an as-required basis
so yeah i probably shade the numerical analysis slightly-disproportionately-highly to contribute to the pressure around forcing the game to start-

really dislike this post. "I don't think you should be townread" in particular is a phrase that feels distinctly scummy to me, there's like an undertone of bitterness to it, like DrDolittle is annoyed that people have correctly identified Hoopla as town for reasons that DrD finds erroneous. In post 289, DrDolittle wrote:even if you are town, how do you know scum players haven't thought about your line, and have players like you in the lobby to provide them with free defense?
independently, I don't buy this line of thinking, and I don't think you should be townread for suggesting it.
it's like a funhouse mirror version of 'you caught me for the wrong reasons'.
& i feel like S_S has acquitted himself adequately. the post that originally bothered me makes more sense knowing he was describing 67 as a 'plan' and not talking about Hoopla's initial entry. his eagerness to jump into theory discussions where, as scum, he doesn't have to lie about his true feelings is still a little concerning, but he's hardly alone on that front in this game.

I'm obviously not sure either. But I'm really struggling to see what scum-Hoopla hopes to gain from this. If she's scum, it doesn't help her if she doubled, and it doesn't help her if she didn't double, and it very well could get her pressured for trying to execute PR's.In post 335, the worst wrote:but this is a fairly neat observation. i'm not really sure hoops does anything different as scum though really? i don't know her super well. i can understand why this is a positive observation fypov
this might be duck scum playbook but like getting pressured for stupid reasons ealry D1 often works out well for scumbags if they can crawl out of their grave
I'm not sure how widely shared that opinion is
not sure I really want to clear an experienced/good player for diving into the fray over mechanical spec though, so to speak?
