@datisi, I strongly suspect that if skitter is scum that that statement was made as pure WIFOM. I personally disagree with her lowkey idea (I don't know why it's unlikely that scum would choose in both 1 and 2?) but agree that it's unlikely 2 scum would have picked the same number.

because from experience, scum are worried about doubling up, and their goal is to try to pick singles as much as possible. i think that knowing that 1 and 2 both tend to be high-risk high-reward numbers, they wouldn't really gain much more by picking both of them than by picking one of them imo. i would be pretty surprised if more than one scum went for a low number like this

(in both iterations i was scum in, i don't think any of the 6 of us picked a number lower than 4)

- not sure why you're voting me over not picking 42 (admittedly could be nai and an rvs joke-post but you doubled down a bit later so i'd like to hear more about it)
- my best guess for your logic for why the three people above you are townie is something like 'i picked {what i perceive to be as the third-best option for town} and it's already taken so that person ahead of me is townie, and the fact that it was available at that point means that other players passed over it and picked the {second/first} best options so they're townie too'
it's gotta be draft related since iirc 2/3 of those people didn't post yet
and this logic is remarkably similar to what one of my partners (3rd highest in the draft; got jk) did to the 1st highest pick.

admittedly not much, but more than anything else i've got on p2 and figured it was worth probing and to see if i could use this to generate discussion (which it did)

I looked at the last five (+venrob's) to try and predict what numbers were most likely to come up and to get a good position.Worked out well lol. I actually didn't check alignments, so I didn't realise you were scum in the previous games, meaning that your shift is less concerning and maybe actually a good thing but I'm not gonna give you that much credit for it.

Yo duck. I have meta from a marketplace game showing scum riding picking the same number to endgame. I think everything is NAI unless there is single person meta reasons to read in to it.

I did mention a soft draft PICKs reason to suss one of rb or flubb, and rb flipping cop puts that solely on flubb.

That said, I remember not reading Billy, so I think it's a little bit NAI on the didn't mention X. Flubb can be scum for other reasons like the momentum vote and draft picks. I know I tend to ignore half the list in any game over 11-12 players until I settle in.

I have a large amount of town reads which makes me think that probably a better route to go down. People I have not paid attention to that are alive are Flubb, Aaron, Kerset, and Suji. So if I can be fucked, I'll read them maybe.

If I'm honest I think it's generally not that worth it trying to sort skitter on D1, in reference to the short chat about her on page 5. I don't think skitter falls into the zone of inherently unsortable because she's so good at scum (not knocking her game) but just that I think she's the sort of person where you're very unlikely to catch her on tone, and much more based on what she's doing in the game and how she's positioned around things later on. Also, if she's town, there's always a pretty good chance she just eats a NK

I think part of skitter's success as scum are a lot of the takes she takes are vibes and gut ones, which are hard to read into. And since her tone seems to be NAI between alignments, you need to read her further down the line when she more content outside of that.

My original thought process during drafting was that scum would send one of their own to pick '1', to cockblock the few town people that would pick '1'. So that's why I picked 2.
After skitter mentioned that there is at most 1 scum in [1] and [2] (which other people have disagreed on after), I thought that might have happened for the pick '2' as well.

The other wagons don't seem that great compared to this gut instinct I have, but I'll have a look at the others afterwards. tbh I just skimmed last night after I got a prod.

for probably the sixth time now, it did not happen in the last two iterations of the game; the lowest number any scum picked was 4; precisely because they were scared of colliding with town

i think scum are less worried about town getting high rolls than they're worried about no scum getting a high roll

I think you've been kind of soft-protecting dunn/alim/aldus and you've been hedgy on melody. as in on the first two I think you've been calling them town but softly, as in if they did go through you'd be in a position to get some cred for not being on them but you're not committed to a hard TR on either so you could backtrack quite easily if you need to. and the same on melody, I just feel like your towered-to-gut-scumping could quite easily be you leaving room around them so you can change your position up however you want

My concern about skitter is that she doesn't look or sound scummy at all in my opinion, but it appears that all of her scumreads (except an early one on almidia) are exactly the people voting aldus, i.e. {Melody, Farkset, Cat}. I'm not particularly sure there is a provable relationship, it might very well be a coincidence especially because she started voting some of these people

before

the aldus wagon happened, but it seems that she used aldus as a mean to double down on them and then never moved on from that. I don't even disagree with skitter that if aldus flips town his wagon looks suspicious, but then again there's post 640 and no attempt to look for any partners in the world outside of aldus wagon, which makes me wonder how much she is actually invested in her reads and solve
