How would a theoretical traitor!psyche let his partners know he was a traitor, psyche? what signal types do you use?

feel the only way a traitor could do that is by acting scummy and then hoping only scum notices it's scummy. generally self-defeating w/o extra information. and also hard to distinguish from scumminess in general.

i guess your idea is that a traitor will look scummy, but almost like they're being scummy on purpose? kind of like a jester tell but without the commitment?

I really hate fakeclaiming. Seems particular harmful to fakeclaim cop in a setup like this. What would gob have done if someone had CC'd him? Say "woops sry" and go on w/o any shame? But otoh it's hard to see mafia doing something that irresponsible either, even accounting for the traitor tell rationale.

Titus wasnt in any real threat of lim at the time, and it's unfortunate that the day ended as it did.

I didnt need to mention it, but I think it's a nice little eulogy. Do you think mentioning it is more likely to come from mafia? was there something more pressing to mention first? Its a pretty weak thing to point out, and then framing it as disingenuous makes it even weaker.

i was hoping to pick up on key info from yesterday by following what people say about it today but so far all ive got are that gob "fakeclaimed" and titus was modkilled. my rvs votes don't seem very different in substance and basis than any other reads people are discussing. overall tone of thread still feels very early D1

It's your posts. They are very AtE-lite. it's just blanket complaining but doesnt progress the game forward or reveal your thoughts on any of the player's alignments.

However, you seem to be doing that a lot so maybe thats just how you play.

Wouldn't it be better to have a play style that can function even if townies lie?

With a clear cut distinction between those who are lying because they have to and those who aren't because they don't need to, I find it much easier to sort.
I find that lies from townies often result in mislims and bad action choices.
Town lies also provide scum a place to hide at times.

I think your way of looking at the game is wrong. Yea that way may work most of the time, but mafia can adapt. There are really many acceptable ways to play, including lying as Town. In fact after a certain point it becomes necessary for Town to lie, since they cannot let mafia know what they're truly thinking. Doing otherwise often makes you a common NK target if you're good enough.

But i dont really feel like arguing this so you do you. What do you think about Alisae now that more time has passed?

think this is a misread. gob has spent plenty of time dwelling on the validity of his fakeclaiming. and it’s easy to *gesture* at the importance of moving on to productive discussion, but does gob really do that? does a stray question about a player’s stance on a slot really do that?

i decided this rep-in to have my own rvs-lite by picking posts i didn’t like to be hypercritical about. so far find it to be a very efficient way to join in on the flow of the game and drive discussion. especially compared to previous games where i conditioned my own engagement on my ability to catch up on and develop a principled stance on everything that happened before i showed up. nothing in this post is really new information from me. i said the post was hypercritical and specious well before anyone interpreted these features as suspicious.
