Bunyip

Knows the alignment of a random scum player. That player's team is told there is a Traitor they can recruit. The first time the Bunyip would be nightkilled, they are instead recruited by the first player to submit the kill, becoming their alignment and gaining a private topic with the killer (and the team, if any). The Bunyip may also target one player per night. If the Bunyip's target is a Vanilla Townie or Named Townie, they are protected and the Bunyip is told their role; otherwise, the Bunyip is told that their target was not a Vanilla Townie. Role inspired by Boonskiies.

Town Vengeful Enigma

You have a role power, but you will not know what it does until you are lynched. Once hammered your ability will be revealed to you and you may target a player in twilight with it. Your result will be publicly revealed to the town unless stated otherwise. The possibilities are:
  • Cop
  • Rolecop
  • Vigilante
  • Gunsmith
  • Knifesmith
  • Fruit Vendor - give someone a fruit.
  • Vegetable Vendor - give someone a vegetable. Your target will gain the Healthy role modifier for the rest of the game.
  • Day-vidge-izer - turn anyone into a 1-shot Day Vigilante. Your target will not be revealed.
What is a Knifesmith? What does Healthy mean?

Once per night, targets a player to learn whether or not they are a Vanilla/Named Townie. If the Neapolitan Doctor's target is indeed a Vanilla/Named Townie, the target is protected from one nightkill.

Town Transferable 1-Shot Bulletproof

Has a bulletproof vest. Can give the vest to another player for a night, getting it back the next day. The vest breaks if it stops a kill, and this player learns when it breaks.

Town Symbiote

Abilities:
• During the first night of the game, you will target someone by PM'ing the mod. This action cannot be prevented by any means. If this person is ever successfully targeted for a night kill, you will be killed in their place. If you and your target are not of the same alignment, all investigative actions that are targeted towards you or your target will fail. In other words, you and your target will be ascetic for investigative roles only. You will not be informed of this.

Win condition:
You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated and there is at least one town player alive.

Two abilities, only one of which can be used per night.
Stalk: Target one player. This night, you learn who that person targeted. In addition, if that person targeted you, they are roleblocked.
Shoot: Kill the target.

Begins the game with 3 charges. Gains a charge for every time someone visits it without trying to kill it. Loses a charge every day. Automatically expends a charge to block 1 attack aimed at it. Can expend one charge to turn another player into a Cyborg (all Cyborgs have a factional night chat). Dies if reduced to 0 charges. Wins if Cyborgs are a majority.

Admirer

If there is a Serial Killer in the game, the Admirer knows who one Serial Killer is and cannot be killed by that Serial Killer. If that Serial Killer dies, the Admirer becomes a Serial Killer. FBI agents get a report of Not SK if they investigate an Admirer before he becomes a Serial Killer.
If there is not a Serial Killer, the Admirer acts as a Named Townie.

Town Santa

Targets one player per night. If target has not hurt town in the last day and night (hurting town involves being on a scumteam, being on the wagon that lynched town, or using a harmful ability on a townie), Santa gets a Nice result and target gets candy. If target has hurt town in the last day or night phase, Santa gets a Naughty result and target gets coal.

Each night, gives a player a key. A player with a key can lock himself in instead of performing an action, rendering himself Bulletproof and Ascetic for that night.

Clock starts at 6.
Chooses one person to kill each night.
If victim is town, clock goes up one hour.
If victim is mafia, clock goes up two hours.
If victim is third party, clock goes down three hours.
Gets an extra life if clock goes to 9 o clock.
Dies immediately if clock lands on 3.
Wins if 12 o clock, or if one of last 2 alive.

Town DNA Tester


Each night, you can either examine a murder scene to attempt to find DNA evidence of the killer, or you can attempt to get a DNA sample off a person in the town to see if it matches up with any of the murders you have a record of. If you investigate a person who is killed that night, you collect DNA from both them and the murderer. You learn automatically if one of your samples matches another and which ones match.

You must choose a stalkee N1 who you will watch during the night phase, knowing who visited them and who they visit, but never the related alignments or roles. If your target dies, you commit suicide the next night. You win if you are alive with your target when another side wins (e.g. Target is mafia, mafia+you remain. Both of you win).

Town Watch Captain

A Watcher with a twist: if someone tries to kill the Watch Captain's target, that person is given a choice at Dawn. He can either abort the kill and not be detected, or he can go through with the kill and have the Watch Captain learn that he did it. Ninjas can evade the Watch Captain's gaze.

Every day the Watch Captain is alive, there is a Dawn phase regardless of whether or not he actually saw a kill.

Suicide-Cult Leader


Each night, if you choose, you may recruit someone else to join your cult. If at any point anything happens to you, one of your recruits will become the new cult leader (in the order they were recrited in.)

However, if at any point 3 members of your cult die for any reason, then, as per the ancient prophecy, all members of your cult will commit suicide.

You and your cult may talk to each other at night. You win when everyone left in the game is in the cult, or nothing can prevent the same.

I'm kinda confused by this role. What would DNA evidence mean? A clue to who the killer is? If so what type of clues would be given
Borrowed the role from the Best Ideas thread. The point is to collect a lot of DNA samples that are all marked as to where they came from, then compare them against each other so you can connect killers to crime scenes.

Target one person per night, learn if they had a gun before that night. If they did not have a gun, you give them one with a single bullet; on a future night, the recipient can shoot the gun to kill another player. This can be done in addition to other actions the person has.

You appear town to any investigation performed on you. Your goal is to make sure that any anti-town faction wins the game, but you do not know who they are. You may perform one investigation per night and will be told whether the player is pro-town or anti-town. All anti-town factions are told that a role such as yours exists.

At night, you target a player. That player will be given the option to join your faction or immediatly commit suicide; if the target is immune to cult recruitment, they simply die. You win when your faction controls a majority of the town or nothing can be done to prevent this.

Your goal is to survive until the end of the game.

The other players know that you exist, but not your identity.
Your programming gives you limited autonomy. You must attempt to kill one player each Night. If you have been given assassination orders, you must select your target from among those players you have been ordered to kill.
Players may attempt to give you orders by telling the Mod via PM the name of the player they suspect is the Rogue Assassination Droid and the name of the player they wish to have assassinated. Players are aware of all assassination orders they have been given and who gave them.
Each player may only order you to kill one living player at a time. If a player gives you orders to kill a different player, you replace the original target with the new target. Multiple players may give you orders to kill the same target.

As long as you are alive, at the end of each day, the lynch is whoever you were voting for. If you are not voting for anyone when the day ends, there is no lynch. If a Hero would be lynched while you are alive, or if the majority vote to lynch you, you are the one to die.

Once per game, you may target a player to change their Win Condition to your own ("You win when players with this Win Condition equal or outnumber all other players.") They will also become your Lover, as well as the Lover of anyone else you are a Lover of. Additionally, they will gain a one shot recruitment power identical to this one. However, they will not immediately be informed of your identity. If a group of Lovers becomes four or more, the first two will break off into their own Lover group and learn one another's identities. If the recruiter targets an existing Cultist, the two become Lovers and learn each other's identities, while the existing Cultist becomes the new recruiter. If the recruiter is killed, the power is lost, but all Cultists learn who each other are and who is Lovers with who. However, if the recruiter is roleblocked or rolestopped, they learn that the recruitment failed and get another shot the next night.

If you are lynched, everyone who voted for you will show up as Guilty on investigation results for the rest of the game. If you are killed, the person who killed you will likewise appear Guilty. Your role is flipped publicly, so when you die everyone knows what happened unless a Janitor cleaned up your corpse.

You are Baron Munchausen, Townie Pathological Liar. You are a simple nobleman, with no particular talent - you have no night abilities.

But you could do all sorts of amazing deeds, if only the cards you had been dealt were slightly different. If only... if only you were someone else, someone like Spartacus, then you could do anything!

You may, at any point, roleclaim Spartacus and any combination of the following roles: cop, doctor, inventor, and recruiting mason. If you do, you gain those abilities from that point forth.

If you claim cop, you may investigate one person each night, and you will receive either an innocent or a guilty result.

If you claim doctor, you may protect one person each night other than yourself, and this will prevent a nightkill against that player (if the player is targetted by more than one nightkill, you only prevent one of them)

If you claim inventor, you may invent one device each night and give it to a player of your choosing other than yourself. You can stipulate what the device is and what it does. However if I deem the device to be too powerful I will modify it so as to be a reasonable power level.

If you claim recruiting mason, you may target one player each night, and from that point onwards you and your recruits will be able to talk at night. The player will be informed of joining your masonry in the morning, and will be allowed to talk with you from the following night.

You will only gain the abilities you claim in the post where you first claim Spartacus. If you claim multiple abilities, you may use each of them evey night. If you claim further abilities in a later post, this does nothing.

HOWEVER - if you suggest or confirm that the process of claiming Spartacus grants abilities, regardless of whether you have claimed Spartacus or not, you will be modkilled. If you later claim anything other than Spartacus, or suggest or confirm that you are not actually Spartacus, then you will be modkilled. I will be harsh on this, you have been warned. If you are not sure what you can or cannot say, then
ask me via PM. Please note that I do not consider this cheating, and it may be used legitimately as a deliberate tactic if you wish.

You win when all non-town players are dead and at least one town player is still alive.

There is a cult in this game, and you know it. Each night, you may take two actions: You may choose one player to protect from recruitment into the cult, and view one player to see if they have been culted. If the cult tries to recruit you, the recruiter will die and all cultists will be restored to their original status. If there is no cult left, you win.

A random player is transformed into a Cult Recruiter.

You do not know your exact win condition. You only know that it is dependent on XXXX. If XXXX wins the game then you win too. If XXXX looses the game then you loose too. You don't know if XXXX is Mafia, Town, SK, Cult, Survivor or even a Jester. Spend your time during the day trying to figure out what XXXX's goal is. During the night I will allow you to bodyguard XXXX if you want. You may not at any point during the game discuss the game with XXXX outside of the game thread. Good luck, you'll need it!

Town Tour Guide


At night, you can allow someone to visit any location so that they may admire anything they just happen to see there. Basically you send one player to watch another player at night. The first person you select will learn of every player that targets the second person you select. Your request should be formatted as “I want Player A to watch Player B.” Note that you, yourself, cannot be either the watcher or the target of the watching. Also, Player A and Player B cannot be the same person.

Each night, you tell two people that they said nasty rumors about each other. The next night, they kill each other. If one is lynched in the intervening day, the other survives. If a player survives being targeted by you and the other target was of the same alignment, you cannot target that person again.

Each night if you do not have a Lover, you may target a player. If that player is a power role, the two of you become Lovers and gain a new private topic.
If you do have a Lover, you may choose to divorce him at any time during the night. You get one of his powers upon divorcing him, and he loses that power. The Lovers private topic is also locked. You cannot divorce a Lover on the same night you become Lovers. You automatically divorce your Lover and gain all his powers and documents if he dies. (You get to see any results of your former lover's powers.)

Begins aligned with Town. Once per night, can target a player. If that player is in a PT, the Infiltrator is added to the PT but has other parts of his role changed to fit the requirements for being in the PT (for example, if he targets a Mafia member, he joins the Mafia; if he targets a Mason, he becomes a Mason.) Is automatically removed from any PT he no longer qualifies for.

You are Town-aligned. You know who is on each scumteam, but every scumteam knows your role exists and gains a 1-shot Strongman kill that can be used anytime. You lose if you are ever targeted by a Strongman kill. Openly claiming your role is therefore playing against your win condition.

Like can't the player just claim and have town lynch him/her then once their role and claim is verified lynch all the scum?
That's what the Strongman kill and post restriction are for.

Publicly, you are a member of a random faction. However, in truth, you are part of the Inner Circle, which contains one member from each faction. The Inner Circle wins if it outnumbers the other players and loses if one of its members dies. To make up for that, it gets a factional protection and a 1-shot factional Governor.

In addition to factional abilities, the Dogkiller may target two players each night. Any targets of the Dogkiller that are Bloodhounds, dogs, or dog owners die. Any Bloodhounds or dogs that attempt to target the Dogkiller will be roleblocked and killed.

As a lawyer, you are seen as up to no good, and therefore any alignment-investigating role will perceive you as Guilty even though you are Town.
Each night, you may consult with another player. That player is unable to take any actions that night, but any investigative role targeting your target will be convinced they are Not Guilty. If that player is a member of a scumteam, their entire team appears innocent but is unable to use their factional abilities.

Town Improbable Prestidigitator
The Prestidigitator was the Town’s amateur magician. He was immune to investigation attempts and immune to the first attempt on his life. There was also a 50% chance that he received information on anyone who targeted him. In addition, he had a nifty one-time ability that is probably too powerful: he could at any one night during the game receive a list of all the night’s targets in random order (i.e. Bob, Joe, Luna, Antrax, Ysabel.) He could then rearrange the list, and I would assign the new targets to each role. If he switched Bob and Joe, for example, what should have happened to Bob would now happen to Joe and vice versa.

Town Underwater Basket Weaver

This role was given to Miriyami in Improbable Role Mafia.
The Underwater Basketweaver attempted to recruit one person per night into a semi-Mason group. Although Miri was not informed of how her recruiting ability worked, it was also random, and had the following possibilities of results:

5% recruitment fails, Miri is insulted and thinks target is Mafia
20% recruitment fails, no information given
40% target is told they have been asked to join a Mason group, and must give up their special ability to join. They have one day-night cycle to respond.
20% the same as above, without loss of ability
10% target joins immediately, without loss of ability
5% target is insulted at the (as Luna later put it) “heterosexually-challenged” nature of basketweaving and is told Miri is Mafia

If at any time Miri’s group exceeded three members, I would start flipping a coin each night. If the coin came up tails, SCENARIO 1 would have occurred (explained later, and never happened.)

If the Underwater Basketweaver targeted a Mafia, she had a 75% chance of being told “did not join” and a 25% chance of getting a hint that the target was Mafia. The Godfather would appear merely untrainable.
If the Underwater Basketweavers exceeded three members at any one time, they could have the possibility of becoming...well...exclusive. There would be a 50% chance each night that Miri, tasting the power of having so many apprentices, would attempt to start a Cult. She would then form a Cult group with the goal of converting everyone (her apprentices would not be informed of this fact and would continue to talk to her.) She would have one 50% chance of conversion of any Townsperson per night (100% chance of converting a former Basketweaver.) However, the Basketweavers would be told if someone left their group for the Cult. The Cult could kill at night by sacrificing one of their own members, and would have to be eliminated by the Town. Not particularly powerful, but interesting nonetheless, and a way to limit the power of Miri’s abilities. Miri was not informed of this scenario’s possibility of occurrence.

Town Robot X4-6009-2A

A random Town player becomes your creator, gaining the ability to protect a person but also transform them into a plant, rendering them unable to post more than once for the next Day phase.
Each night, you investigate a player to find out if he or she is your creator or not. Once you have found your creator, you protect him from kills for the rest of the game.
if you are lynched, you do not die. Instead, your creator becomes aware of your role and gains the ability to order you to kill one person a night. If you are killed after this happens, your creator becomes Mafia-aligned, although he still investigates as innocent and does not know who his allies are.
You have a 50% chance to not be killed by ordinary weapons. Esoteric effects, like laser beams, are not affected by this.
This role was given to eillid in Improbable Role Mafia, while Sir Dynadan served as the creator.

Improbable James Bond

Town-aligned. You are afflicted by numerous STDs, although only one is actually having a negative effect on you. Still, you are seeking a cure. You must visit one player every night until you find the player with the cure.
Until such time as you are cured, every player you visit rolls the dice as follows:
1-30: Target is immediately lynched if they get four or more votes.
31-60: Target cannot speak for the next Day
61-90: Target is roleblocked.
91-100: Target gains all the powers and abilities of this role.
Given Bond’s role description, it is possible that eventually a majority of the Town would be infected with the plague. If this happened, the rules of the game would immediately change: only half a majority would be required for a lynching, and the players would have only X turns (X = number of players infected by the plague divided by 2) to complete the game. At the end of X turns, if no group was dominant, all players would have died. If any group was dominant (read: would normally be the winning group,) then that group would have won. Basically, the Plague would turn the game into a Speed Mafia, and I did not seriously expect this to take place (it did not.)
The cure is given to a random Mafia player.

Abilities:

• Every night, you may target a player. You will force that player to commute, meaning any actions performed by or targeting your target will fail. If your target is not aligned with town, you will also commute during the night. This cannot be blocked. You will not be informed if this happens.

Win condition:

You win when all threats to the town have been eliminated and there is at least one town player alive.

You are aligned with the Town. Once per night, you may investigate a player to learn which category of role they fall under.
Category 0: Vanilla Townie, Groupscum Goon, Named townie
Category 1: Town Cop, Lyncher Any, Groupscum Vigilante, Groupscum Strongman, Groupscum Poisoner
Category 2: Town Vigilante, Town Bulletproof, Town Paranoid Gun Owner, Other Groupscum, Town Rolestopper, Third Party Other
Category 3: Town Doctor, Groupscum Disguiser, Any Serial Killer, Groupscum Jack of All Trades, Groupscum Doctor
Category 4: Any Town or Groupscum role that interacts with the dead.

Town Cleric

Each night, you may visit a player and give them a blessing. They will know that you, the Town Cleric, blessed them, and you will know whether or not the blessing succeeded. If you bless someone not aligned with the Town, that player will be roleblocked, but you will die.

A 13-player setup:

7 Vanilla or Named Townies (including one with a post restriction), 2 Werewolves who get extra kills whenever they hit a Townie, 3 Aliens, and a Mafia who has no items to steal. Town is fucked.
