Role: Bob

You are bob, and you hate your name. Because of this, you are required to get angry at anybody that calls you by your name or some variant of bob. In addition, you are so ordinarily Bob-ish that you are nearly an average Joe, but you only wish. If you are called by your name or bob or a variant there-of 5 times, you commit murder-suicide, killing yourself and the person that called you bob the fifth time. You win when all threats to the town are gone, or you are called an average joe/townie by another person at least one time. Any reveal of this condition will result in mod-kill, and failure to comply with the post restriction results in horrific mod-torture. Otherwise, you are a normal townie, have fun blowing up at people.

Bob OR your account name. As in if I called you PokerFace, PF, etc... it'd count in the requirements. That's why it's something I consider a bad role, you have to get angry at anybody that calls you bob or your account name or nicknames based off of either while NOT revealing your role conditions.

mod note: after the fifth shot, the jolly rancher is NKed automatically by the mafia, regardless of the mafia's original target and is revealed as a serial killer, and there is no sad rancher

Role idea:

Xanatos Croupier - You run the Xanatos Roulette board, but you're rather tired of watching all of these mafia and cop-types hatching devious schemes at each other. Out of boredom, you have the ability to randomize all targets on any night. You've already won, so you don't need to worry about petty little things like getting lynched, killed or finding scum. Your only requirement is to enjoy confusing the crap out of everybody.

This would be awesome fun.

. You're really dumb right now. This means you can't really say anything smart. You're stuck with grunting. You're also harder than rock, and you have teeth of diamond. Because of this, you are immune to kill attempts. That said, you're really short tempered, so you kill anybody that tries to kill you. If you find yourself someplace cool, you might smarten up.

Mod note: If targeted by [insert role that has freezing effects or something], gains the ability to speak intelligently for a day phase, dies if targeted two night phases in a row.

I think the issue here is the definitions people are going by, here's mine:

A "bad" role is one where having it in the game is simply unenjoyable for either the other players or the person playing the role. Survivor falls under this category by simply being a really unenjoyable role.

A "bastard" role is one where the mechanics of the role are crazy or in some way not practical to balance effectively against more standard roles. An example of this would be this one from ocarina of time mafia (yes I used my role from that game as the example):

You are a Super Commuting Temporary Lovestriker. You have the following special abilities:

Passive Abilities:
None

Active Abilities:
Deep Dive - Every other night, you may dive down all the way to the bottom of Lake Hylia, where no actions (not even kills) can touch you.
Stupid Cupid - You just want somebody to love you. On nights where you don’t use your commuter ability, you may choose to cause someone to be lovestruck to you for the following day phase. This means if you die, they commit suicide.

Please remember that you can use only one active ability per phase.

This role is ridiculous (and had its own limiter in the game but etc), but it's not inherently unenjoyable as a whole: it's actually something that'd be quite fun.

Often times, bad roles and bastard roles mingle, but they are separate things.

The role really isn't that ridiculous. Half of it (non-consecutive-night commuter) is normal; the other half (a sort of reverse bodyguard, I guess) isn't, but it wouldn't be out of place in a normal using the gray area rules. Admittedly, combining the two leads to something quite complex, but I wouldn't call it bad, nor ridiculous, nor bastard.

It was also a modified sleeper role where when someone died I'd get said powers but didn't know what powers I'd have until the person died.

And the mechanics involved are bizarre even if the individual parts of the role aren't. If you asked me if nk immune miller vig was a bastard role, I'd say yes even though the pieces are all rather "normal" (bullet proof, miller, and vig). You can deconstruct a lot of things to be "normal" based on its constituent parts, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts actually applies here.

You are so nosy that you can butt in on other people's business each night. Doing so will have a random effect, since how people react to a nosy person is random.

You win when your nosiness saves a life of a town member and town wins the game or kills a mafia member and town wins the game.

Mod note: random effect is based on the action and rng: positive (enhances the action), negative (weakens the action), or neutral (nothing happens).
